This review is over due lol. After years of feeling ignored and dismissed by plenty of ENTs, along with countless antibiotics and steroids, I finally found Dr Daneshrad. I am so grateful for him and his office. Came to the conclusion that surgery was the best option for me. No more mouth breathing, sinus infections, tonsil infections, ringing ears, and so on. I am thankful to have finally found a doctor who listened and didn't just write me up another prescription. Never had a surgery before and all went very smoothly, and the healing process went smoothly. Also a big shout out to Miss. Carol!! I have had two visits with Dr. Daneshrad for frequent nosebleeds. The doctor was very professional, conversational, and gave me some lifestyle advice related to caring for my nose and managing my cpap. He performed nasal cautery, which was painless, which is pretty amazing considering my nasal passage was being burned to build scar tissue to prevent nosebleeds. read more

I had been struggling with chronic rhinitis for awhile and went to Dr. Daneshrad as per my university's internist's referral. Contrary to everything my university internist said, my experience with Dr. Daneshrad was awful. I use Afrin regularly as nasal congestion often keeps me up at night. Dr. Daneshrad just dismissed everything I said and behaved condescendingly. He told me to never use Afrin ever again and just breathe through my mouth instead, without understanding how uncomfortable it is to have nasal congestion while I try to sleep, and how next to impossible it is for me to get any sleep while I'm congested. I know that Afrin use long term isn't ideal, but I've continued to use Afrin and I haven't experienced any serious complications yet. He told me that using Afrin would cause permanent damage to my sinuses, which I later found out was completely untrue. He did offer to perform sinus surgery on me to remedy my issue but I've decided to have said surgery elsewhere, since Dr. Daneshrad turns a blind ear to any of my legitimate concerns and behaves so condescendingly. I would much rather have the surgery done by a doctor who actually understands the nature of my problem, which Dr. Daneshrad doesn't. I was told he was patient and understanding, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It is worth noting that I'm posting this review years after the fact, but I want people to know that Dr. Daneshrad is not a good option for ENT services and blatantly does not care about his patients. Every single other ENT doctor I've ever been to is far more competent and understanding than Dr. Daneshrad. It's safe to say that Dr. Daneshrad is by far the worst, most incompetent ENT I have ever met. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED From my personal experience, this staff blows other ENTs out of the water. I first visited this clinic with chronic sinus issues about 6 months ago- after hopping from ENT to ENT- each with high accolades (published works, 30+ yrs experience, etc). I was expecting to have the same experience, but so far Daneshrad clinic has proven to be far superior. Dr. Daneshrad is friendly, approachable, and honest. He thoroughly explains matters so that a non medical person can comprehend. He has a supportive bedside manner and is able to properly communicate issues. When he delivered news I would have preferred not receive, I was still comfortable while educated on my ailment. I left better equipped to tackle the issue, with a very clear plan for treatment and recovery. The visits are quick, with little wait upon checking in. Once the examinations start, Dr Daneshrad explains each step so you can follow along, and ask questions throughout the exam. The administrative staff provides clear write ups of your visits as needed, which is essential for providing support documents, should you participate in flexible spending accounts. I have never had issues with billing. The write ups are comprehensive, and your records are available for your direct access electronically via an App. Carol is the surgery rep. She is so warm and motherly. When setting up surgery matters it is so very helpful to have someone as kind as Carol to walk you through it. She worked with me to ensure all aspects of the procedure were arranged for my insurance in network, when possible. She even provided a comprehensive cost breakdown before I scheduled anything. No one likes getting sick, but when you come across ENT ailments, you will be in good hands here. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Daneshrad and Carol and all that they did for me today. I came in on a kind of emergency basis after a surfing incident ripped a bit of my skin off on my neck and chin (after being referred by the staff at Santa Monica Urgent Care). Within a half hour of getting to the office (they took me on short/emergency notice) I was on the operating table getting stitches. The whole process was smooth (Carol was amazing with talking to both of my insurance companies) and I couldn't have been in better hands - and I'm pleased to say my chin is stitched up and not looking too worse for wear. read more

Very unfriendly and cold. I felt rushed and interrupted. He seemed annoyed and had a condescending tone. Felt like he was in a hurry and disregarded things I was telling him because he has "20 years experience". I felt unheard and unappreciated as a patient. Also, I had to wait 45+ minutes to see him and he saw me for 10 minutes tops before he was on to the next. I wouldn't recommend him. read more

Going back and forth with them over billing and refunds was a huge waste of my time and took forever. Billing would refer me to the front desk and the front desk would refer me to billing. I called billing about an overcharged amount that my insurance clearly paid for in my EOB, they said they wouldn't automatically refund me once insurance came through, that I would have to constantly call back to see if the billing hit and what the refund would be... what a joke. Had ear pain, and the dr ordered the MRI for the neck only. Caused confusion with the imaging people, and now have to go back for another MRI to get a complete image of my head according to another ENT. read more

I had a sinus surgery done by dr. Daneshrad. I had a nasal septum surgery done previously with a different doctor which made my breathing worse. Dr. Daneshrad is very knowledgeable and tried to find root cause of the problem unlike my previous doctor. So I trusted him my health and he made sure everything went well and I had my surgery done in Santa Monica which went very smooth with minimus downside. The staff was nice and helpful, one thing they could improve on is the staff should call patients to ask how they are doing. Overall I recommend the doctor as he is very professional and knowledgeable. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I specifically told the doctor that I was allergic to a specific antibiotic and he proceeded to tell me to take it anyways. As expected, I developed a terrible allergic reaction, the same exact symptoms I had previously encountered. On top of that, he was extremely cold during the appointment. Zero stars if I could. Met with Daneshrad who was apathetic and cold. I told him about the anxiety that I have due to my medical issue. He told me that his 3 year old patients are less problematic. I seriously wonder how some of these doctors are licensed. His office expects you to pay for your office visit upfront even when YOU ARE INSURED. Came here with my one week old baby for a tongue tie. As you can imagine, my husband and I were very nervous about the pros/cons of getting it released and making the best medical decision as new parents. Dr. Daneshrad came out to the waiting room to greet us and walk us to a room. He examined our little one and went through all our questions making us feel at ease and decide confidently to do the procedure. It was so simple and quick that our little one squirmed more with the examination than the release (which is what the doctor assured us). We were then on our way home. I ended up having another question for him later that day that I forgot to ask in person and sent him an email. Even though Dr. Daneshrad had the afternoon off he responded which was so reassuring. The office staff was pretty friendly but it's a little weird that there are two front desks handling different doctors. Overall, I had a very good experience here. read more

My primary care physician suggested I visit Dr. Daneshrad for chronic nasal congestion and sinus issues. I've had two septoplastys already, and needed a second opinion on my third surgery. Dr. Daneshrad did a thorough examination (which included a cat scan), because he didn't want me to have more issues arise later on that he can take care of with the third surgery. I'm extremely appreciative of this--it really shows that he cares about my wellbeing. While he agreed that I need another surgery, he also discovered some additional issues that my other doctors hadn't. I paid about $440 for my portion of the in-office services... this was expected as I paid my co-pay, as well as for the cat scan, and other work that was done to discover what needed to be taken care of. Any reviews stating that this office wrongfully charges or overcharges are false. Dr. Daneshrad's staff were very thorough in breaking down all of the costs (total, what portion insurance covered, my deductible + %'s, and what I would cover out-of-pocket) BEFORE I agreed to any services that would cost me more than my original $30 in-office copay. It's wild that I even need to say this, but good doctors and thorough treatment ARE NOT CHEAP--don't blame Dr. Daneshrad and his staff for this. Talk to your insurance if you have an issue with the coverage they offer. As someone who truly cares about seeking the best treatment and finding the best doctors, I will be seeing Dr. Daneshrad for my present and continued ENT care. read more

I am so grateful that I was referred to Dr.Daneshrad. I had some minor trauma to my ear drum (FYI q-tips are not for your ears, if you didn't know or read the box) but it was influencing my hearing and balance. I was getting worried that it would be something difficult to fix or have to manage for awhile, but after a couple (quick!) appointments with Dr.Daneshrad I was good to go! I had all great experiences with Dr. Daneshrad and his office. I had been getting 4-6 sinus infections a year, and my primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Daneshrad to get a specialist's opinion. I appreciated that he did try to manage my condition non-surgically first. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, and I ended up having sinus surgery. Yes, that part was unpleasant, but the end result made it all worthwhile. I've not had a single infection for over a year! And Dr. Daneshrad was really good with all of my follow up visits, making sure I was healing correctly and knew what to do to manage my symptoms. Also, the staff is friendly and competent. I asked him if I should be concerned about one of my symptoms and he actually had the nerve to tell me I was "harping on and on" about it. It was offensive and unprofessional. Warning: They require a credit card on file even with insurance. I made an appointment to see Dr Daneshrad and when I arrived they asked for my insurance info. I have a very good PPO plan. Then they told me that they wanted to hold my credit card on file in case they were not paid by the insurance in a timely manner. When I posed concerns about the security of doing that (even major corporations lose credit card info) they said they would not treat me without the credit card information. I walked out. read more

As far as staff and service, they were excellent. Doctor was nice and staff was friendly. The office and hospital were clean. So what's the problem? I had two surgeries with doctor Daneshrad and he couldn't completely heal my ear. He said the 3rd surgery would have been extremely major and costly, etc. My insurance would have completely covered it all so I didn't care, but after 2 surgeries, I lost all confidence. I decided to find another doctor who could operate on me. Sure enough, I found him. The new doctor said it's very doable and won't be a major surgery. I saw Dr. Daneshrad for the first time 2 days ago and I was very genuinely impressed by his warmth and kind manner. My case is worker's comp and in the past I have repeatedly been treated like a 2nd class citizen but not at this office. The staff was very courteous and I was called in for my appointment exactly on time by the doctor himself. He took time to review my history and as he performed a scoping procedure, he told me what to expect and was very gentle and attentive to how I was doing. When he was finished, he explained his findings and future options patiently and in terms that I could understand. I live in Sherman Oaks and it took almost 1 1/2 hours to get to Santa Monica but it was well worth the time and effort. I would highly recommend Dr. Daneshrad without hesitation. read more

I'm a new patient and had my first appointment today. I selected Dr. Daneshrad because he was part of my network (and based on some other yelp reviews) and I'm very glad I did. I'm completely impressed with this doctor and his office staff!!! First of all it his office staff was pleasant and made it very easy to setup my appointment. Next I received a welcome email with details of my upcoming visit and a patient portal where I could fill out, in advance, all the tedious (but necessary) pages of medical forms & questionnaires. Great time saver!! So, when I arrived I only had to fill out one page with my signature. My office wait time was literally less than 5 minutes. Dr. Daneshrad came out to greet me and walked me to the exam room. By the end of my new patient consultation I was delightfully surprised with how comfortable I felt. You'd expect a new doctor (or at least hope) to inquiry on your issues, listen to your answers, address any concerns and last but not least, to be reassuring to a frightened patient all during an office procedure. Luckily for me Dr Daneshrad did all that and more. My office procedure wasn't "pretty" and in fact I told him at first I don't think I'll like you. But by the end of the visit I told him " Your actually now one of my favorite doctors"- his easy going bedside manner made this visit pleasant for me! Later in the day when I had some questions for the doctor and called his office, his staff was so helpful and within minutes provided me answers. Simply put this doctor and his staff nailed it 100%. In contrast that same morning I had another new patient doctor appointment My office wait was over an hour; the staff was rude and the doctor's manner was "cold". I only wish all my doctor visits were as easy, efficient and informative as my visit was with Doctor Daneshrad. read more

I want to commend Dr Daneshrad for NOT having us cut a potential tongue tie on our newborn baby girl. We were referred to him for evaluation by a Lactation Consultant and went ahead and made two more appts, once at UCLA and one with a pediatrician that does tongue tie releases to get a second and third opinion. The UCLA dr said it was "mild" but she would recommend a release because it might help with breastfeeding. The pediatrician very strongly advocated to do it right then and there. But Dr Daneshrad (and we saw him last, all ready to do the procedure) told us directly there wasn't even a little tongue tie, and to just keep breastfeeding. We were totally shocked, but 5 weeks later he was absolutely right and saved us from clipping our little baby!! So grateful!! read more

Dr. Daneshrad removed our son's tonsils and adenoids in late December. Our experience with him and his office was first class all the way. From the scheduler, Carole, who guided us through the process, to the anesthesiologist who called us the night before to give us an idea of the process and answers questions, to the nurses, and finally to Dr. Daneshrad himself, everyone did their best to treat our son with top notch care, and helped a couple of nervous parents get through a very stressful operation. This event was life changing for us. Before, our son struggled to sleep at night, making his days miserable - he was inattentive and ill-mannered, both at home and at school. Now it's 3 months later, he sleeps like a baby, on a regular schedule, and everyone at his pre-school, our extended family, and others have said that he is a like a new kid. The first day we met with Dr. Daneshrad, he was very careful in his analysis and recommendations. I got a great vibe from him immediately. He didn't push us into getting an operation; he just laid out the pros and cons, and left it up to us to decide whether to go ahead with the operation. When we arrived for the operation he met with us beforehand and set us at ease, explaining step by step what would happen, how long it would take, what to expect. After the operation he came out to the waiting room and said, "you can expect his behavior to change immediately". He was right. I have to add that the most stressful time of the post-operation is the first three days. On one of those days we had to call Dr. Daneshrad very late on a weekend night with an urgent question. Of course he wasn't in his office, so we left a message with his answering service. I expected that he would call the next day. Instead, he called right back and gave us the advice we needed. If you have a child with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, enough that it causes snoring and sleep apnea, and your insurance covers Dr. Daneshrad, I recommend that you take your child to him for care. I had my tonsils removed by Dr. Daneshrad. The Dr. and his staff were all incredibly lovely and supportive to me through this entire process. Dr. Daneshrad did a great job explaining to me the procedure and how to prepare for my recovery. His assistant was very kind and even called to check in on me a few times during my recovery. I had a very nice experience with Dr. Payam Daneshrad. I suffered a major orbital fracture after a severe biking accident.Dr. Danashrad answered all my questions, made me and my husband feel at ease, and kept us well informed throughout all stages of my treatment. The complicated surgical repair went off without a hitch. During my surgery - the nurse assistant who helped me was very comforting and sweet - she was very patient and helped me the entire time. His staff is very accommodating. Carol, his secretary was my favorite - she helped me from the very beginning and she also did her best to make sure to my needs were met during scheduling. I wish I could give 0 stars. Don't go to this office, they will charge you incorrectly and not be helpful what-so-ever in correcting it. I had a basic visit, and when I went to pay, I was charged $250. I told them thats incorrect because I am in Network and my insurance covers it. I talked to my insurance, and they said they have no idea why the doctor would charge me for such a minor appointment. When I called back to tell them, the lady was completely rude and said I have to wait for it to go through my claims. Meanwhile I am 25, living in Los Angeles and don't have $250 lying around. Receptionist was superwoman! She does it all appts, insurance verifications and checking out pts., all with a pleasant attitude! Dr. Daneshrad is as nice as he looks in his profile pic. He comes out to waiting room to greet his patients! In all my 40+ years of seeing doctors this was a first and it set the tone for the rest of my visit! I felt respected and listened to.
