I was unaware of what was causing my shallow breathing, weekly sleep apnea, migraines, and chronic fatigue for years. Then, a scan with Dr. Griffiths revealed that my nose was broken. He and his team educated me on the nasal anatomy, why I was experiencing these symptoms, and my treatment options. I felt supported so I opted to commit to functional surgery. Beginning a week before the surgery, I was provided with instructions. The team was friendly and gentle on the day of surgery. Post-operative care is detailed so I recommend thoroughly preparing and having someone around to occasionally help for at least 1-2 weeks. However, I was back to work in only 2 weeks with absolutely no pain. It has now been 3 months since the surgery and I have not experienced sleep apnea nor migraines. I used to sleep 10-12 hours at least once during the weekend to feel adequately rested after an exhausting week of what never felt like enough rest. Now, I can sleep a routine 7-8 hours every night and my energy feels increasingly regulated each day. The swelling is still going down and I am increasingly happy with how I look. I have likely lost my hearing permanently due to the incompetent and delayed care I received here. I was given an "urgent" referral from my PCP following sudden hearing loss and was given an appointment several weeks out (already suboptimal but maybe unavoidable). When they brought me in, the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong and told me I needed to see an "ear specialist." Why on earth they would have assigned me to someone who was NOT an ear specialist when I was coming in for hearing loss is beyond me. I waited to see that person and then was told she wanted me to go do a repeat of the audiology testing because she didn't trust the first testing even though it was done within their own office!! At that point, I decided to seek care through the House clinic downtown, where I was accommodated immediately due to the time sensitive nature of this concern and was met by very kind and competent doctors. Unfortunately, at this point, I am well beyond the window where it's likely that steroids could save my hearing. Do yourself a favor and start with the House clinic if you have any serious hearing concerns as this office does not appear to be able to manage them competently. read more

The first part of my exam was great! The technologist who performed the initial hearing test was knowledgeable and the exam started on time. The first part of the exam was at 1:00 and I was scheduled to see an actual doctor at 2:00. I finished the first part just before 2:00 and at 2:40 I am still in the waiting room, waiting for the doctor to see me. The parking around here sucks and I had no choice but to park in the garage beneath the building, which charges a whopping $2 per 15 minutes. I asked the receptionist if they validate parking. "Unfortunately we do not," was her reply. "In that case," I said, "can you tell me how much longer I have to wait for the doctor? Because I'm paying $2 for every 15 minutes that I'm sitting here waiting," I said. "The doctor will see you as soon as he can," was her curt reply. Then the receptionist sitting next to her leaned over and whispered in her ear and they both looked at me as if I was being unreasonable. I guess if I had something seriously wrong with my hearing or my eyes, it might be worth the $24 (the cap on parking rate) that I will wind up paying for this visit. This review is about Dr. Nathan Pierce. I read the other negative reviews about him before seeing him. So I went in with cautious expectations. What I in fact encountered was a kind, caring, and sincere ENT specialist who quickly diagnosed me, described my options in a clear and straightforward manner and told me what he would do if he were in my shoes. I can see how some people might have had a negative interaction in so far as Dr. Pierce looked extremely overworked and very tired to my eye. But I personally couldn't be happier with his obvious expertise in his field, his dedication to the patient, and his honest, caring advice. As for the staff, they were friendly, polite and responsive. As for the parking, it is pretty expensive and charges every 15 minutes, so that's definitely a negative. But that's a small price to pay for good medical care, in my opinion. 5 / 5 stars. No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend this clinic and especially Dr. Pierce! read more

Parking, horrible and expensive $3/15 min. The doctor's coordinator Anthony asked me to change the appointment hour early so I went and guess what... they saw me at my original appointment. Was there for 2.5 hours in total. Had to move all my meetings and it was just terrible experience. One of the nurse said cafe validates if spent $8 or more so went down but nope, only for the hour visit. So in total I paid $34 (daily max rate of parking and sand which) for parking. Reception hates her job she keeps on yelling where the restroom is when people asks her. The only plus side is that the Doctor actually knows what he's talking about and was very professional. I think I'll start visiting him at his other facility and not this one. read more

I went to an ENT on a Friday just for a standard ear cleaning, and he mangled my ear. Woke up Saturday with a bloody ear and freaked. Pacific Eye and Ear was the only ENT open in town, and boy am I lucky. FYI They are not open EVERY Saturday. I saw Dr. Karimi and wow, what a pro! He confirmed my ears were in sad shape, but that I would be ok, and then PAINLESSLY AND QUICKLY cleaned my ears. WIthin like, 2 minutes. He also has an amazing bed side manner. We came to see Dr Voelker for my husband's hearing and tinnitus issues. She seemed smart, knowledgeable, and a good listener. She put my husband on a medication and said to come back in a month. After a week, my husband started to have a number of bad side effects from the medicine including worsening hearing. It said on the pill bottle "If symptoms worsen, stop the medication then contact the office." We emailed the doctor and asked to speak with her. Her non-medical assistant emailed back saying that these issues could NOT be from the medication and to keep taking it. Two days later we emailed again, saying his side effects were increasing and asked to speak to the doctor. The assistant responded again with same thing - keep taking the medicine. The next day, we called the office with an urgent message asking to speak to the doctor. No call back. Emailed again. Finally the assistant said he could stop taking the medicine. A few days later, a different doctor called us (the on-call doctor who had no access to my husband's chart ) and said that it could not be the medicine but that my husband's "disease" must be escalating fast. Very upsetting as he was never diagnosed with that disease. Then a few days later a different non-medical assistant emailed saying he spoke to a DIFFERENT doctor and that my husband should KEEP taking the medication. We stopped the medication and cancelled the follow-up appointment with Dr Voelker. I called Pacific Neck's office administrator and told her the whole story. She said that this was handled poorly and she would follow up. Never heard back from her. Not Dr Voelker nor any other doctor ever called to see how my husband was doing or if he got better after stopping taking the medicine. This is not an office I would recommend if you have any interest in being able to communicate directly with your doctor, especially if there is an issue. read more

I just got back from my appointment with Doctor Mehdizadeh and I have to say he and his staff are awesome. Everyone from the front desk, to the medical assistants and staff were all so friendly and thoughtful. They really do deserve the reputation they've earned from others. I went in for a nasal issue I've been dealing with for months now and but the medical assistant and the Doctor were careful to diagnose my issue and take a good look at everything. I felt like I was in very good hands there. They left me feeling confident. The place feels inviting too. It's not cold and sterile like a lot of hospitals can feel like. Nor was it run down and old like others can feel. It feels modern but warm. A tradition I've found with providence hospitals. Not sure how long they've been joined with them but it makes sense. Front staff amazing! Dr. Pierce was a pompous jerk. I admitted coming in that a recent BuzzFeed Video brought me in, and not only did he scoff at the mere mention of BuzzFeed and 'Fake News' as he called it, but he then proceeded to laugh and mansplain how fake the entire BuzzFeed news videos are set up. Dispelling everything I saw on that specific video with a slight wave of hand and a vey cocky chortle. If a video is going to bring in traffic, then yes educate but don't be an asshole. I will never return here for the horrible treatment by the doctor, his words being: kind of disappointing. I use Q-Tips every day and my ears are just fine. I'm so glad I came here even if Pacific Eye and Ear is not in my PPO's network. I don't care. This review is primarily for Dr. Kian Karimi. Dr. Kian Karimi is a unicorn in the MD universe. He's smart, he's got a GREAT bedside manner, he takes his time explaining things to you, he doesn't make you feel like you're an inconvenience AND he's got a great sense of humor. He's a great doctor. I should know. I'm an ICU nurse. I've seen my share of awesome docs and not-so-awesome docs. I give Dr. Karimi an entire sheet of gold stars. Over the last week, I've been battling bronchitis and some other viral bug. My right ear was also acting up. I suddenly couldn't hear. The best description I could give was that it felt like I was trying to hear through a giant pile of cotton stuffing. Little did I know how close that came to the truth. Long story short, I had a buildup of ear wax. Using Q-tips didn't help me any. It just made it worse. Dr. Karimi to the rescue!!! I can hear again!!!! Best day e-v-a-r!!!! He's very thorough in explaining everything to me. He supplements his explanation of what's going on with a short video of images that he uses as visual aides. In addition to sucking out compacted ear wax, he performs a very thorough inspection of my eyes, BOTH ears and my neck. An added bonus up Dr. Karimi's sleeve? He also specializes in facial reconstructive surgery! Do you know why else I would recommend him to everyone I know? He does not order unnecessary tests. I was scheduled for a hearing test because the lady who made my appointment wanted to cover all my bases. After seeing Dr. Karimi, it was decided I didn't need it so he cancelled it....which means the center doesn't get to collect the money from my insurance. Wow. Another reason why he's awesome? I was pointing out that one of my eyelids is bigger than the other. Given that he's fully qualified to do eyelid surgeries, he TOLD ME HE WOULDN'T TAKE ME AS A PATIENT IF I WANTED TO CORRECT IT! What??? Did I hear that right? He's refusing my money if I wanted to get this done?? He explained how Asian eyelids are different and how he wouldn't feel comfortable doing my surgery because he wanted me to be 1000% happy with the outcome. I think my jaw dropped on the floor. I went in to see Dr. Karimi because I was having severe allergies, causing nasal congestion and making it difficult for me to breathe. The Dr. and his staff were exceptional at making me feel at home and providing quick and personal service. I also got the feeling that Dr. Karimi really cared about my health and well being. I've seen many doctors in the past who treated me like I was just another patient, rushing through the process and leaving most of the face-to-face time to their assistants. Dr. Karimi took his time, personally examining what was going on with my breathing, identifying the problem, and proposing the best possible solution for me. He also explained things to me at each step of the way, which I really appreciated. I know that many doctors prescribe their patients with unnecessarily expensive drugs because they are given incentives by drug companies to do so. Dr. Karimi does not work that way. He went through each drug on the market that would fit my needs and chose the most cost-effective option, based on what would be covered by my insurance provider. This place is the most. Needless to say, my experience here has been indescribably perfect. I came to Dr. Karimi for a variety of issues, all of which were dealt with in a manner that exceeded my expectations. The office is absolutely pristine, which has always been important to me, as I find that it speaks volumes about the practice. The staff (front desk, billing, nurses and doctors) are kind, engaged, and extremely knowledgable, and I felt completely safe in their hands every step of the way. And to my surprise, my procedure here was actually enjoyable - and I have to rant about it. As an anxious person, I was absolutely terrified to be operated on -- until I wasn't. Dr. Karimi and the staff went above and beyond in preparing me for my procedure. The staff gave me all sorts of preparatory material that was so professional and put my mind at ease before the procedure. Additionally, Dr. Karimi was available to answer any and all questions I had at any time before the procedure which was SO nice and completely put my mind at ease. The day of the operation was even better. I had the best nurse, anesthesiologist, and doctor, all of whom were extremely accommodating, kind, and professional, the operating room was very nice, and my post-op care was (from what I can remember) so personalized. I received a personal call from Dr Kian Karimi, and he promised to assign (which he did) of member of his staff to attend to the difficulties of this medical situation. I have been made aware of the difficulties involved in securing Medicare payments for the special Medication I need and indeed I do have a serious infection and it requires effective attention which I fully believe I will get from Gabby and Dr Karimi. The Rx necessary and nebulizer (possibly no longer needed) has been addressed and I will be getting the meds in a few days. The doctor himself is a pleasant man, very knowledgeable regarding therapy and surgery for toxic mold infection, which is what I have. Now I no longer have to go through the maze of the large staff there and am perfectly happy. I guess some conditions needed to be addressed and Dr Karimi was superior. I feel I am in good hands. This morning my girlfriend Janet and I were looking for a doctor bc her ears were plugged. Apparently there was wax buildup and when we went to the beach the other day the water just plugged her ears to the point she couldn't hear. After calling multiple doctors and being told it would be 1 or 2 hours of wait time or maybe even more and outrageous quotes, I ran across Pacific eye and ear specialists and spoke with Dr. Chester Griffiths. Without complimenting too much and saying a bunch of nice words I'll shorten it , his was perfectionism and professionalism is beyond the 5 star rating and if I could give more I would. On top of the hospitality and kindness, he was done within a matter of minutes and you probably wouldn't get that kind of medical attention anywhere else. Dr. Nathan Pierce is the WORST doctor I have ever seen. In fact, I have just read another review that starts "Dr. Pierce was a pompous jerk" and I couldn't agree more. I only lasted about 5 minutes with him before I actually got up and stormed out of the office. This is the first time I have ever done this in a doctors office and I have seen a lot of doctors due to chronic health issues. This man has no bedside manner. His demeanor is cold and condescending. There is absolutely no warmth or empathy from him. He does not make you feel at ease. He started with asking me to describe what was going on with me and the dizziness I had been experiencing. I told him how I felt and also mentioned that I had numerous other symptoms as well that may or may not be related (I had previously seen a neurologist for headaches and also dealing with Lupus). He was totally unresponsive. Nothing. Nada. Just a cold stare. I babbled on some more trying to fill the awkward silence as he looked at me like I had grown another head. I began to get upset as I reeled off what I had been dealing with and how I was going from doctor to doctor trying to figure it out. And again, as tears welled he stared at me in silence. I honestly didn't know where to look. I felt uncomfortable. Do these doctors not realize how it is to be a patient and feel vulnerable and scared and desperate for someone to help? A little kindheartedness would go a long way. Rather, he uttered the words I have heard so many times from previous doctors... "Are you stressed?". OMG. Are you serious, you asshole?! I feel like just because I am a young woman who looks healthy that these doctors assume my health issues are all in my head or caused by stress and anxiety. The only stress I have in my life is from the ailments I deal with on a daily basis and the fact that I am constantly battling health insurance and doctors as I try and figure out what is going on. My life is pretty great otherwise. I deal with the usual daily stresses but nothing that would cause the health issues that have debilitated me at times. All I am asking is for you to listen and respond with some warmth and understanding and make me feel heard. Not stare at me like a pompous jerk from your doctors throne and make me feel small. This guy gives off bad vibes. His energy is horrible. After the "Are you stressed" comment, and his failure to show any sympathy to me being upset, I was done. I know that the fact that I was sitting in the office feeling absolutely awful, really unwell and yucky, probably made me blow my fuse quicker than I normally would. But these doctors need to understand that. It had taken all of my energy just to get up and get to the appointment. The least they can do is be nice. I might be feeling like crap but I'll still treat you like I care and want you to feel like you matter. I also am annoyed because I paid my $80 co-pay to this jackass and then paid the $24 parking fee. This whole experience has been very disappointing as before my appointment with Dr Pierce I had seen an audiologist for a hearing test and this doctor has been so nice and welcoming and I felt positive I was going to get to the bottom of my issues. Anyway, if you're still reading this review then a big thank you for listening to my rant. hahaha. Doctors like Pierce need to be brought to light so that future patients are aware that their experience may not be great if they choose this provider. Where do I even start???? I've been suffering from migraines pretty much my entire life, and just this year they have escalated. I tried various of medications and nothing seemed to work. I was suggested to give Botox a try, but to be quite honest I was a little skeptical at first, since I am 24yrs old; I thought I was too young for that. After feeling very frustrated, I decided to give it a try.... and honestly, it is the best decision I made. With that being said I truly feel like the location has a lot to do with it. I visited various of doctor offices's before I came across Pacific Eye and Ear Specialists. The front staff greeted and attended me as soon as I walked in which they were extremely helpful & nice. I was there to visit Dr. Karimi; he made my visit very comfortable. He explained to me the background of why Botox is recommended for those with migraines, along with explaining to me how the process would be done. I am now due for my monthly follow up visit and I will definitely continue visiting him. I now feel confident to recommend Botox to other people, along with recommending seeing Dr. Karimi. I had been suffering for more than 20 years from facial pain which was caused by a damaged trigeminal nerve issue due to previous sinus issues/surgeries by other ENT's. I had seen several different ENT's and pain medicine doctors over the years with no solution to my issue. In January 2022 I made an appointment to see Dr. Chester Griffiths who was recommended to me by a doctor friend to seek another opinion. On my first appointment, Dr. Griffiths performed a thorough exam including a three-dimensional CT Scan and immediately determined that the second branch of my trigeminal nerve was encased in bone growth, thus causing the pain. While he indicated this was highly unusual, almost never seen before, he and Dr. Howard Krause, a Neuro-Ophthalmologist, operated and removed the bone surrounding the second branch of my trigeminal nerve in my sinus cavity. After more than 20 years, my facial pain is almost non-existent. Obviously, the area near the second branch of my trigeminal nerve still needs time to heal, but I am off almost all pain meds. I cannot thank Dr. Griffiths and his team enough for diagnosing and treating my issue. I am forever grateful to Dr. Griffith! I have suffered with allergies and terrible sinus problems for most of my life. My sinus problems continued to get worse within the past two years. I could never breath through my nose, I had terrible headaches, postnasal drip, plugged ears and almost every cold I got turned into a severe sinus infection. I heard great reviews about Dr. Griffiths and finally decided to go in for a visit. Everyone at the office is very kind, knowledgable and helpful!! I met with Dr. Griffiths and he did a cat scan of my sinuses. He was very friendly and explained the images to me in detail so I could better understand what was going on in my sinuses! He had a very positive attitude and was confident that I was a great candidate for surgery, so I went for it! Dr. Griffiths removed my adenoids, shrunk my nasal turbinates, removed a bone spur from my septum, and opened up the sinus cavity of my left maxillary sinus! Recovery was pretty much painless!! I didn't need any of the the pain medicine I was prescribed. This surgery was soooo much easier than getting my wisdom teeth removed, ha! Now I feel like a new person... I can FINALLY breath through my nose!! I also rarely get sick now, and when I do it only lasts a few days! Dr. Griffiths is always happy, encouraging, and definitely knows what he's doing. When I'm sick I go back to him rather than a regular family doctor because he's the true expert!! I want to tell it like it is. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with Dr. David Nguyen. There have been harsh realities to face. Yes, hearing aids have improved.... BUT BUT BUT, they can't solve all of the problems yet, to my dismay. In a noisy restaurant I'm not the only one who can't hear, most people can't. Hearing aids can't do much in very noisy traffic or other places. If someone MUMBLES or speaks really quickly, I'm doomed. But without the hearing aids, I don't hear much unless I'm one on one in a quiet room. So, given the options, I took the hearing aids and shelled out enough money to rescue 46 dogs and cats. DR. DAVID NGUYEN is a gift in such a situation. He tells the truth about what hearing aids can and can't do from day one. Believe this or not......HE CAME OVER TO MY HOUSE to teach me how to use the TV with my hearing aids so that I can hear much better and no one else in the house has to be bothered by the sound because it's muted for them. Here are a few details about Dr. Nguyen. He acts as if he has nothing else on his mind and nothing more important than this patient in front of him. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry because he's running behind or anything else. When I'm in that office setting I feel like I'm the only important happening in town. He tries everything. One time he even called the OTICON company to see if something was possible. He behaves as though he has only one goal in life: to make these hearing aids work for this person. Dr. Karimi is amazing!! After weeks of a horribly painful middle/outer/fungal ear infection, I finally felt relief after my visit with Dr. Karimi. He was kind, caring and compassionate and took the time to help me. He was understanding of my financial predicament and suggested that I use white vinegar mixed with water in the ear. Usually a specialist will tell you to get expensive prescriptions at the pharmacy. It totally worked and eased the pain and I'm finally healing! It's also a very nice office with friendly staff. I suffered from horrible vocal pain for 3 months - saw my general doctor, tried antibiotics, tried an antacid, tried a throat culture - to no avail. Then, after 4 months of the pain, I finally saw Dr. Kian Karimi. I made an appointment really quickly on ZocDoc. He was SO Kind! Plus, he knew exactly what was going on as soon as he put the scope down my nose (not as bad as it sounds). He answered my millions of seemingly silly questions and gave me papers to take home to read. He basically gave me a mini-lesson on my own voice box. Knowing I didn't have insurance, he prescribe OTC medicines, a nasal rinse, and several lifestyle changes (no coffee, less talking, etc). He made himself available over email, which I was so grateful for!! In the first week, I didn't experience any changes, so I was scared it wasn't working and emailed him. He wrote back promptly and assured me to stay on the path. I did and it worked!! Like magic, I came back in 6 weeks and it had nearly healed! He looked down my throat and advised a few more things, but said I need not come back, he just requested I stay in touch over email to keep him posted on my vocal success. He's so calm, knowledgable, friendly, and truly cares. I felt like he was my buddy from college just helping out a friend with a soar throat. 6 months ago, I thought I wouldn't be able to ever laugh, sing, scream, talk (yes, seriously, it was bad) again and now, it's like it never happened. I went here with an ear infection from diving, and found the facility and its staff to be top notch. Dr Karimi was very professional and looked at not only my current issue, but helped me to find a specialist that can help with exostosis caused by years of surfing in cold water, and followed up with an email giving me the doctors info. I have just had a myringotomy with another physician and it became infected. No, I will not mention the doctor's name who did the surgery because he had ZERO bedside manner. I was then referred here and landed with Dr. Kian Karimi and I feel it was a very lucky thing. He is working very hard with me to try and get rid of this massive infection in my ear. He is EXTREMELY patient and lovely. Best bedside manner, so sharp, focused and knowledgeable. He offers his e-mail address for any urgent matters. He responded to me in less than five minutes. Upon my first visit with Dr. Pierce the office staff over the phone and in person have been accommodating and polite. Dr. Pierce examined my ear quickly and efficiently which I prefer and gave his recommendations in a succinct manner. He also mentioned ways to improve or prevent an issue like this from happening again in the future. Dr. Karimi recently did blepharoplastry for me. The result was immediate. It was no pain after all with very minor bruise. The swell did take longer time to diminish completely in about a month. But it was almost unnoticeable during the healing. Dr. Karimi is always kind, professional and attentive, willing to answer questions and give consultation on my other skin issues. I was referred to Dr. Karimi after my MOH surgeon recommended that I get a surgeon/dermatologist was a deep case of cancer in my ear. Dr. Karimi came to the surgery center to assist in my first surgery and evaluate my needs. He then was able to get extensive CAT scan and MRI work done on that Friday afternoon for the followup surgery which was scheduled for Monday morning. Dr. Karimi was able to save my outer ear, preserve my hearing, and did several skins grafts which have healed beautifully. Throughout 7 weeks of followup radiation Dr. Karimi has closely followed my progress. All of my appointments have been prompt and Dr. Karimi has clearly explained each procedure. When I chose my own radiation oncologist he cooperated completely and made sure all records were sent. The convenience of audiologists in the same office made testing uncomplicated. read more
