Beautiful campground. We stayed in our travel trailer on site c12 which was near the stairs to one of the beaches. The water was clean and clear. We sunbathed for hours on the floating dock and rented paddle boards for $10/hr. Thanks for the great weekend, we will be back.

This is truly the most beautiful place Ive ever been. We've fallen in love with the area. The RV park is very clean, very pretty, spaces are nice and not close together. We will absolutely be back!

It's sad that I have to write a one star review of a place that my wife's family has been coming here for over sixteen years. Attached are photos of two mice that were caught in my mother in laws cabin after alerting the front desk of a mouse that was found eating their food. The front desk only offered an apology of the rodent population being heavier than usual and not an apology that there were mice found in the cabin. After being alerted, the front desk took two hours to put traps in. Two mice were caught in the span of a day. Sadly the front desk closed at 7PM when the second mouse was caught. While checking out, the front desk offered no apology to the fact that mice were in the cabin and offered no solution other than putting traps. Its fine that traps were set but there was no care in the world. It's sad because this place is awesome but the problem was not fixed and the reaction of the front desk seemed that they were not surprised over the mice "epidemic"

Canoe rentals available! Great Lake for picnic and water sports.

I just stayed 4 nights at the campground- and I feel it's a great choice for the area…read more What I needed was a basically a base camp where I could have a nice tent camping space that would be used mostly for sleeping (vs. staying at the campground for relaxing, using the river, cooking, etc). My space, #57, was very large for tent camping, had a picnic table and fire pit (which I didn't use). There was plenty of flat, root-free space for me to pitch the tent. I put my tent on flat, hard-packed sand...which is fine but I would recommend a mat or towel for the tent entry way to wipe your feet and leave your shoes on. I used the shower daily. The shower I used was clean, plenty of hot water, good water pressure...and free! The bathroom was bare bones but clean and well maintained. The campground was busy but I didn't feel it was rowdy and certainly wasn't loud. The quiet hours were observed when I was there. But for me, Bearcamp River Campground is about its owners. They take great care of the campground and great care of the people who stay there. Just one example, I was (very) late for my Wed. night check in. I called and was told the parking gate pass would be waiting for me and it would be no problem at all to be late...just make myself at home. I really appreciate their accommodating me. Overall, 5 stars. It's it a great setting, a well maintained facility, run by nice people who genuinely want you to have a good time and will do anything to make sure you do.

She stopped to asked the locals where to find moose and spoke endlessly about the types of trees in NH. No moose were spotted at all even after a desperate mosquito infested walk through the woods (yes, we had bug spray but it didn't make a difference). We were told "plan B" was to drive up and down the same highway at midnight to see if the moose were out. This was a surprise for my husbands birthday, It was a surprise for both of us! This was a complete waste of time and money.

Lucy met us in the morning and we went straight to the river. It was such a gorgeous and enjoyable ride and she was so pleasant and relaxed the whole way through. She gave us some simple tips on kayaking and also some nice information on some of the wildlife and history of the area. When we reached Lake Ossipee the wind was very strong which made the lake very choppy and her lead was so assuring in the challenge that lay ahead of us - she was awesome and we made it to the other side of the lake without any issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend Lucy if you want to experience a great day outdoors in the White Mountains

Clean restrooms and showers are a must. Terrace Pines offers all of these. Pro tip: When making a reservation for a particular site, splurge for the 'site guarantee' (I forget exactly what it's called). Otherwise, your reservation might be moved to a different site. This worked in our favor once, but we would have been pretty unhappy if we were on the other end of the move.

Went to Terrace Pines campground for the first time this Memorial Day weekend 2023…read more It was just ok. Its more like a trailer park than a campground. Most sites are permanent camper trailers. Very few people were just there for the weekend. The campground was recently taken over by new owners. The previous owner let the permanent campers do their own things with their campsites. Many sites are run down and unkept. Several were quite trashy and needed to be evicted. There were many delapidated docks along the lake that need to be removed. Old abandoned canoes and kayaks along the trail to the lake. Fishing is very poor. We were told that the 2 lakes were stocked with fish, however the state hadn't done it yet this year. No fish jumping on either lake. Its my hope that the new ownership goes through and makes huge improvements. I'm not sure if we'll return. We will have to wait and see.

When you go to sleep, all you can hear is the cricket chorus, the occasional animal in the woods and ducks playing in the water. Dark- there are only lights at the bathrooms/showers the rest of the campground is completely pitch black except for what your fellow campers set up. Bring a flashlight. The stars are BREATHTAKING! There is so much tree/leaf cover- you really feel like you are camping in the middle of a forest (because you are). The Swift River- While you can't really go "swimming", it gets deep in spots, but it is fantastic for lazy tubing, cooling off and plopping your chairs in the water and chatting for hours. The water is clear, clean and cold. Wonderful! My two sons and I along with their friends spent days digging up rocks from the river bed and worked on making a dam next to our site- ridiculous simple, fun. Location- centrally located and not far from Conway, Meredith and Ossipee. Staff - friendly and helpful Firepits/grills- the pits are cemented down in location, which is fine. They are large, round, and have a convenient grill attached. There is NOTHING like burgers cooked over a bed of charcoal or wood. Site cleanliness - The sites all have a bed of gravel laid down on them and are raked/cleaned - along with the ashes/debris from the firepit- after a party leaves and before the next arrive. There is not much ground cover, bushes, grass, which keeps down on the bugs & ticks. Speaking of that, we may have just been there at the right time of year, but there were almost zero bugs! CONS - Cleanliness/Condition of facilities- I would've given this campground 5 stars however their bathrooms and showers are really showing their age. A bit dilapidated and very dirty- lots of spiders/webs/nest/cocoons- shows that they haven't been deep cleaned in a LONG time. I know, it is the woods and there will be bugs, but if the facilities were deep cleaned at least occasionally, it wouldn't be this bad. The showers are coin operated- .25$ for 5 minutes- which is doable. I hear/see that they are in the process of updating their entrance/camp store, so hopefully their bathroom/showers are in line for an update as well. RECOMMENDATIONS - If you can, get a premium, river-side spot, the further from the entrance/beach the better. Though you will have a hike to get to the bathrooms, the quiet/dark is wonderful and having the river at your doorstep is amazing! We were at site 28 and it was large enough for 3 cars and 3+ tents with room to spare. Went to sleep listening to the crickets and the murmur of the river, woke up to songbirds and the sun. The river also cools your site by about 10 degrees as compared to our friends site which was closer to the office. Our site also had electric and water as well- bring a 50'ft cord and it will stretch to every spot on your site. SUMMARY - Beautiful, quiet, dark, cool and for the most part clean. Spring for a river spot. Hopefully with the coming updates, they will address the bathrooms/showers issues with cleanliness. Would definitely stay here again.

I have gone to this campground for many years. On Friday I booked a site for next month, after booking I contacted to say I would have 3 dogs instead of the 2 they allowed. The previous owner always said it was fine. They contacted me and said that they would not allow this. So I said ok cancel my reservation. That is fine I understand your strict rule of two dogs. They did and kept $78. this reservation was literally over the course of 11 hours. After going back and forth emailing telling them it was unreasonable to keep $78 of my money over a 11hour span. The new owner basically told me to move on it was in the fine print. This was the worst customer service ever in a campground. So sad, had a lot of nice memories there, too bad terrible dishonest people are now running it.
