This is a long overdue BBQ review about Jim's Fallbrook Market. Now before we get into it, this is…read morea true 3-Star review... not 5... read on to find out why. You know it's BBQ Season, as their smokers fill the air that makes your mouth just water! There's always a line (a good sign)... and the portions are fair (not great, but not skimpy either). There's always two things when it comes to the barbecue does it smell as good as it tastes does it taste as good as it smells? And in this situation, the taste is not as good as it smells. I've been on this planet for a long time in the last 40 something years have eaten more than my Fair share a barbecue so I can only give you my opinion of a 40 year journey eating all kinds of barbecue from coast to coast. When it comes to their accouchement of sauces, yes they got plenty of hot sauces but no they don't have that many "" sauces or a juice that you can get with what you order. Lastly, all kinds of folks I've met are proud of the meat. They make love to talk about it love to get into the mechanics behind it without of course, giving up their trade secrets you don't get that here. If anything, you can just get people that wanna move the line along and I get it if there's a long line you wanna move folks along, but you can still be friendly about it. During the days that I've been there before the line started it's the same attitude just get your plate. Get your grub and go little to no communication. So if they ever make their chicken, chickens and meats taste as good as it smells, they will definitely get another star out of me, and if their attitude was more friendly and less stuffy, we would finally get that five star review that they should deserve, but due to the things I've encountered more than once it's three stars.

They prepare food fresh on the spot for you in the back corner. Note it is strictly to-go, no dine in options. The gentlemen in the store were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to answer our questions about how they prepare their fresh meats on the grill. Many, many thanks for the grilling demo! The marinated meats available all displayed in the case and they pull straight from there, it's fresh and made to order. We decided on a plate of chicken breast and a plate of beef lule (ground beef kabob). After placing our order, we had some time to browse the groceries and imported goods in the store. You'll find a wide variety of Middle Eastern and European goods. We picked out some imported Italian and Russian snacks as well as some lavash bread to eat with hummus at home. At home, we feasted! The meats are marinated and seasoned to perfection, tender and flavorful. The guys even cooked up a few pieces of pork ribs for us to try. And let me say, we may have to get a plate of just those next time!! The plate comes with salad (tomato, cucumber, dill, onion), hummus, lavash and rice. Don't sleep on their garlic sauce, that stuff is potent and HEAVENLY. Portion sizes are large and shareable in my opinion and prices are reasonable for the amount, and more importantly, the quality, of food you're getting. I wish I had some pictures but we inhaled our food before thinking about. Next time!

My review will…read moremainly be about the plate of food I ordered, but I will add that there are unique grocery items here to check out. They have an assortment of raw meats that you get to choose from and they cook it as you order it. That means you'll wait 15-20 minutes but the food here is worth the wait. I ordered the chicken breast plate with a side of garlic sauce. The chicken breast was juicy and tender. The garlic sauce on the side is a MUST. I also asked for some slices of lime/lemon on the side and they were generous enough to put some in my bag. The people working there were warm and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone in the area :) Im removing one star because my portion of chicken breast was a bit small compared to what I'm seeing in the photos from other yelpers.

The cleanliness and organization provide a calming shopping experience. I would have loved to give 5 stars but my experience at the juice bar is almost always less than pleasant. There is a young woman with a piercing and very full lashes that is very rude. I understand that if she is making drinks to wait but when she approaches the register she doesn't even say hi. She just stares at you. She also ignored the customers behind us. When handing off drinks, she doesn't say a word so people aren't sure of whose drinks they are. It's the only part of the store where the workers aren't as approachable.

Been here a few times now and it's been great other than the usual stares I've grown up with. That doesn't bother me. What bothered me today was the first time purchase of just a couple steaks from the butcher. One dry aged and one tbone. The dry aged was fine. My issue is the tbone. What I saw in the butcher display showed the usual two cuts on the bone. Going home I found that the Filet part was cut and missing. If that's the case I would have just gotten a NY strip. I am disappointed in that and was never something I grew up with and expected from a market like BF. Next time I am there I will be saying something and want to check and see what exact cut I am getting. Thank you.

One of my more memorable funnel cakes was at the 2017 Long Beach Vegan Fest. We got a Funnel Cake topped with chocolate sauce and candied pecans and coconut whipped cream. OMG!!! http://bit.ly/2AQJUju A few months ago at CA Vegetarian Food Fest was the last time we had Scandylous Delights. They had a photo that drew me in which looked like ice cream sandwiched between two mini funnel cakes and rolled in toppings appropriately named Funwich. Umm, YES PLEASE! We got it with rainbow sprinkles because it looks good in food photos. But we also got Nutter Butter crumbs because I can never say no to peanut butter.
