So, I love cigars but hate going to the old man watering holes to buy them. Also traffic, right? Dania Smoke shop is less than a mile from my house, but I'd never been because I thought it was one of those secondhand smoke shops that are kinda dirty with strange owners only out for money and no cigars. On instinct, I sent a message via Google chat and asked if they sold cigars and received an immediate affirmative response. I walked to the shop since it was a pretty day and went inside to observe how clean and neat the store is. The owner was helping some guys and was very kind and knowledgeable, and they spent a lot! This couple ran in and broke line in front of me. The owner knew that and gave me a look of apology. I didn't say anything because I'm patient and some people are just jerks, and I'm not so tied to a spot in line that I'm going to lose any emotional intelligence over some cigars. So, I waited. After they left, the owner was attentive and kind and helped me with my selection. I'm really impressed at the condition of the humidor there, because most smoke shops whose sole focus is other products don't really mind the humidors. Total opposite there! I went in here earlier to get a disposable e-cigarette and while leaving I noticed that it did not work. When I went back to exchange because it was not working at all, the tall guy, I'm assuming is the owner, was very combative. He asked me when I purchased it, and continued to talk to me in an irritated manner that I should've tried it before I walked out and that there was a sign that said all sales were final. While I do give him that one, because I assumed all the products that they were selling worked, he continued to be a smart ass and said that he did not make the products and that he just sold it. If the other female attendant did not vouch for me and helped me, there would have been a bigger unnecessary blow out than there needed to be. First of all, HE could've handled that in a more calmer manner and I wouldn't have felt like I was a bad person for NOT trying out the product after I wasn't informed before I left. Second, no one likes a smart ass, and no customer in their right mind would ever come back after being belittled like that. You know a lot about a persons character based on how they handle situations and this was telling of how unprofessional and completely argumentative they were. read more

I have always loved this shop and still do. But something really frustrating just happened to me. The owner gave me 15% off my puff bar a couple days ago, and said it was a promotion on everything except cigarettes so to make sure I remember and make sure I get 15% off when I come in through September. Well i just stopped in and there was a lady working. She rang me up and I mentioned the 15% and she said "I can't give that out, the owner can do what he wants but I can't." I'm like "he didn't say he was just doing it he said it was a shop promotional." She didn't even try to check with him to make sure, she just said "well sorry." Kind of frustrating that they are not relaying information to one another, or she just wasn't willing to give it to me, or that the owner is just saying he has a promotion when he doesn't?
