We came to Dr. Smith's office for the first time today for a second opinion on a tooth extraction for my one year old daughter. His office and staff were extremely nice and helpful and Dr. Smith was patient with listening to my concerns and providing a more conservative treatment plan for my daughter. I have three grown kids that have gone through quite a few dentist visits and now as my youngest prepares for orthodontia she has had to get some teeth pulled. All her other visits have only been cleanings with Dr. Smith so these few visits have been very traumatic for her. Dr. Smith is hands down one of the best pediatric dentists I have encountered. He is patient and understanding to both the child and the hovering parent. He explains everything in detail yet puts it in terms that my 10 year old understands. He works slowly and slyly that my daughter doesn't even see the needle and even when she gets herself all worked up and starts freaking out during the extractions he remains calm, explains it all to her again and lets her compose herself. As long as I live in Temecula my daughter will always be a patient of Dr. Smith's. I trust in his work and his decisions that make stressful procedures less stressful for the patient. So amazing!! Wow. I don't think my kids' first dental visit could have gone better. I have a 4 & 2 year old and was really worried about my 2-year old freaking out. Simply put: this visit was a breeze. The office is beautiful, clean and specifically designed with kids in mind. My girls loved the miniature 'kid-sized' door that leads from the waiting room to examining area. Movies on ceiling, earphones & sunglasses...those things were really great too, but the best part was the staff. Both hygienists that worked on my girls knew exactly how to make them feel safe & comfortable immediately. So professional, but so fun too. My 4-year old wanted to know how soon she could go see them again as soon as we got to the car. Both girls begged to use their new toothbrushes as soon as we got home. My daughter is very, very, anxious when it comes to dentists, but after being recommended to Dr Smith from a friend, we haven't looked back. The staff were all very patient with her whining and crying until she got comfortable with them. The office is clean, calm, well-decorated for kids, and Dr. Smith has earned our trust. The staff is also friendly and do their jobs well. (at least, from our 10 or so visits) Not a single problem yet. We had a little scare with my daughter at one point, where I went and got a second opinion, and in doing so, I was just more sold on Dr. Smith. Read great reviews about Dr. Smith so I decided make an appointment for my 8 y/o daughter. I just moved to Fallbrook and I have not yet become familiar with the area and ended up getting lost. We were 1/2 an hour late for the appointment but the staff was very understanding and fit my daughter in anyway. After taking our now 7 year old to another Temecula dentist where his idea of a first dental exam was to tip the kids upside down in my lap to look at their teeth, I knew I needed to find a new doctor! This office is amazing! Every point of contact, from the phone calls and reception, to the hygienists and Dr. Smith himself, is fantastic! My son loves the games in the waiting room and going through the kid-sized door to the chairs. I took my daughter recently (she was two at the time) and was sure that she wouldn't let them clean her teeth on the very first visit, but they were all so calming and kind that she jumped right in the chair! My kids love going to the dentist! Nicest staff and dentist! The office is beautiful with decor that keeps the kids entertained (and Games during non-COVID times). They are always on time. We were a little worried he may have a hard time going to a new dentist, as changes can be challenging for him. However, this visit was a slam dunk! Dr. smith has been my 4 children's dentist for the last 5 years. My kids absolutely love him and his staff. Everyone is so patient and kind. Two of our kids have had to have dental work that required an anesthesiologist and both times our experience was great and he works with amazing anesthesiologists. Our dental insurance changed a few years ago and he was no longer in our dental network, however we still choose him as their dentist and haven't regretted our decision. read more

When my 4 year old had a cavity and decided she was now magically scared of the dentist, we were referred by our dentist to Dr Smith. He is out of network and I was a little worried about the cost. Dr Smith and staff are worth EVERY PENNY. The office is kid friendly and happy. They have a kid movie space and a kid-sized door right next to the reception desk. They offer options for fearful kids like nitrous oxide. Each staff member and dental assistant were amazing. They were friendly, they talked directly to my daughter and she felt so special being the center of attention - instead of how many adults talk only to the parent. They explain everything they were doing in a fun, non-scary, kid- friendly way. (Sugar bugs, sleepy gel, ice cream air, etc). There was a TV in the ceiling, she could choose from a few different movies, so she could watch and be distracted. The dentist, Dr Smith was just as amazing. Friendly, talks to her in a semi-kid voice (in a good way) and doesn't let too much time lag between talking. Just when I felt my daughter was getting nervous, he'd ask her something or explain something, or tell her a silly thing to make her laugh or smile. We had three visits total, consult and two filling appointments. She never had any fear, and she was happy to go back. The cost was well within affordable and expected for the services. The nitrous oxide we opted for isn't covered by insurance, but it wasn't too expensive, and was worth every single penny for her to have her fillings done without fear or pain.
