These are the people who are making a difference in the world! Being a dentist isn't an easy profession, especially a children's dentist. Our seven-year-old daughter had dental work done today, fillings and pulpotomy. I was anxious all month waiting for the appointment date to arrive, and especially on the day of. We opted for partial sedation. We were treated well, everything was explained in detail, no surprises. Having the appointment take place first thing in the morning worked very well! We chose to come here an pay out of pocket, even though this office did not take our insurance, because we read the good reviews and had a great experience during the initial visit and consultation. It was the first time our daughter has had any dental work done other than x-rays and cleaning and it was important to us that she wouldn't have a fearful experience. This also seemed like the main objective of Dr. Lee and his staff. Our daughter genuinely thought she was having a spa treatment, they made sure she was very comfortable (blanket, headphones and a movie, sunglasses, a stuffed animal) and showed her the instruments and process ahead of time which was explained in a very kid,-friendly way. The fact that I could be in the room with her during the entire procedure meant everything to me. At no point was she uncomfortable. As soon as we got into the car, she asked for a mirror so she could look at her back molar. No more hole, no more black decay, she was very pleased. Dr. Lee even called to follow up to make sure she was doing well. My daughter's response was "I had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back again"! Even though she experienced being numb after the appointment and some soreness at the injection site, the Tylenol and Motrin did the trick. She won't be afraid to visit the dentist the next time around. I'm very thankful, and highly recommend this office. read more

I am writing this review in hopes of protecting another family's child from this offices treachery. I honestly believe the "good reviews" are not authentic. Like anybody else coming into the office falling for the children's decor, we had high hopes that our children's experience with Dr. Mike Lee would be pleasant, however we were fooled.. My 3 year old had some cavities sadly that required some fillings. While my child was in no pain , no visible decay or anything the naked eye would see, the x rays showed different. Ok understandable. Immediately upon looking at x rays, Dr. Lee comes in to explain next steps. Immediately he says the only option we have is to have our 3 year old undergo general anesthesia to get the treatment done all at once. Now this is not our first rodeo with kids needing dental work, and although I'm sure in certain extreme cases, that could be needed , I knew in my 3 year olds case it was not. I asked Dr. Lee for alternative options and he said there isn't any and that my kids personality would not allow him to do anything else so he has to go under! I was taken back by his cold approach and lack of judgment or empathy for my child. My son was calm in the chair and excited to meet his potential new dentist. Dr. Lee continues to say there is no other option. I suggest laughing gas and local, but he says no because that would make him scared to come back! I asked him could we try at least and see how it goes, or maybe start with the more serious ones first. His reply in the most rude tone was "well I'm still gonna charge you for my time, it's not gonna work". Completely blown away, we made way for the front desk where his wife tries to book the procedure. When asking her if we could hold off booking as we wanted to think it over or possibly get a second opinion, she rudely goes "he can't afford to wait, this is the only option, as your kids personality won't allow anything different" . This lady never even met my son, or was in the room to even make this judgment. At that point I knew something wasn't right. We left the office without booking anything. A few weeks later, we drove down to LA to see a highly reputable pediatric dentist we have prior experience with to get a second opinion and discuss what we were told was only option. Not only was there not as many cavities that needed attention Dr. Lee lied and claimed there was, but the cavities that barely needed attention, she was able to do with laughing gas. She could not believe we were being told that general anesthesia was our only option for such a non serious matter knowing all the risks that come with that approach. Although as a dentist, she understood in extreme cases for some children this is an approach, she assured us our case with our 3 year old was not a requirement for such an extreme procedure. Dr. Lee should not be trusted by parents of younger children! Very dangerous as there are so many risks with general anesthesia with small children, let alone for dental procedures that offer other options. Dr. Lee cares more about filling his pockets as opposed to keeping children safe and healthy. I will never return and I warn parents to tread lightly with this practice. update: good thing I trusted my first mind and went for second review as I just read today about a dentist in SD who did general anesthesia on a 9 year old child who sadly passed away. I am really surprised in how many good reviews there are for Dr.Lee. Coincidentally because of such great reviews I decided to bring my 3 children here. My first experience was ok I liked the information provided and email follow up. However Dr. Lee was already suggesting that my 5 year old would have a hard time. He said the type of kid he is I can see he will have a hard time. I was confused at what he meant by that. My son did not one time cry or scream. He just needs to be reassured. My son was brought back again because he needed to have two crowns placed. First step was bringing him two days before to have rubber bands placed. My son did not complain he kept his rubber bands till the date of crown placement. My husband and I are given a paper that says to be quiet observers and to use words like helper instead of brave and brush instead of shave. When Dr. Lee met with us he asked how we thought our son would do. I knew he would do great he just needs to know what is happening and be reassured. As he is about to check him, he sees his bands are no longer placed. The hygienist had removed them. His attitude towards her was very unpleasant. We were uncomfortable but "were silent observers " He was upset she had taken the band off and was saying comments like, it won't fit! We are going to have to "SHAVE" the words his paper says not to USE! Mind you my son is listening to all of this and he was still ok not once did he scream or move while all this negative talk is going on. When it came time to the second crown my son had tears but he was not loud crying, he simply wanted to know when we would be done? Dr. Lee was already in a frustrating mood, so he stops and asks us what we think?! If he should continue. As if my son was uncontrollable and he could not proceed! I was really confused. I don't know if he was hANGRY! Because that's what he kept telling my son we are almost done so you can have lunch. When it was all done. He said maybe you can give him Tylenol and mom you should take some too! What a rude, unprofessional comment. My husband and I did not say a word to him while he was working on our son. His comment was out of line and so was his behavior towards his staff in the presence of my son. We will no longer be coming here. read more

I appreciate all of the option given to me when it comes to a treatment plan as some have been not what I expected, but needed to be done. I always receive a quick call back with any questions or needing to book and immediate and urgent appointment for one of my kids. My kids also love the encouragement and love they receive from the Dr. and his staff. Picking anything for kids is incredibly hard - especially when it comes to stuff that isn't always super fun like seeing the dentist. We wanted to make the second experience one that wouldn't turn off our 3 yo (I highly doubt he had any memory when he was 1). Toddlers are crazy creatures - and this is why it's important to find ones that can tame the beasts! First of all it took almost a year pursuing this place since they were not taking patients that were 2-3 yo especially with the waves of pandemic going on. I totally understood that. The day finally came when I called and they started opening things up. We booked the appointment. I did a happy dance. I talked about the dentist to my toddler everyday until we went in. Anxiety running on overflow I walked into the very clean, super kid friendly office. They space out patients, require masks and can I just say holy cow I wish my dentists office looked like this? Two old school video game set ups in the front, three others with controllers besides it. A huge TV blasting Disney movies and soft, maintained and easy to clean seating around the whole area. The girl at front was super nice, checkin was quick and easy since we filled out forms prior. About five minutes after check-in a very friendly, good humored technician calls us and walks us back to the chairs. Each chair has a tv planted right above it on the ceiling and on each chair light are hanging monkeys. More video games are strategically planted around the area - I mean, this place is really awesome. I wish I had gotten her name, but the tech was SO amazing. My son was a tad hesitant, didn't know what to expect BUT was able to actually lie down and have a full cleaning with all the strange noised tools. Before using each tool, she would tap it on each of his finger and count so he knew what it felt like, what noise it made and what she was planning to use it for. After the "intro" he was give a sticker. The boy had MOUNDS of stickers after the cleaning, but honestly I was amazed how well he listened. The energy of the tech was seriously great, and she kept it going until the doctor came in and checked his teeth. You can tell Dr. Lee either has kids or is just naturally fantastic with them because he knows what works, how long attention spans are and the beauty of distraction. At our most recent check-up when he felt like he was losing my son's patience he started singing Old McDonald. I mean, how freaking cool. After the cleaning the tech made my son a balloon animal - what??? And after that when we checked out he got to pick a toy. Just wow. Needless to say he is two cleanings down and he's totally stoked about the dentist. And honestly, that's how it should be! We were attempting to schedule our 3 year old daughter's first dental appointment. We were impressed with the Yelp reviews and decided to set up an appointment with them. The staff who we talked to wanted a morning appointment. Requiring and not recommending because she claimed that kids get crankier after lunch time or in the afternoon. Our daughter wakes up around noon time. So bringing her there early in the morning will not be ideal as she will not be be at her best mood. We informed her of that. She was not willing to hear us out so and was not willing to accommodate our request so we did not go to their clinic. We decided to go to Margarita Dentistry. She was seen in the afternoon and she did well. Hopefully, management sees this review so they won't be losing potential patients due to their staff thinking that they know more than the parents of children and make it a learning opportunity for the staff members. read more

Heaven forbid your child is scared/ cries. They will not see you again and tell you to find another provider. Seriously in shock that i was told a 3yo can't come back after they sat through drilling and a filling. I should've listened to the other people that told me not to go here!! Tried calling to make an appointment with my child and the front desk lady Joanne, which is also the "office manager" was as rude as you could possibly be. from the minute she started talking. She was nothing but negative and wouldn't even get to the point where we could schedule an appointment. I asked to speak to Dr. Lee and she told me because" NO"I'm not a patient he will not talk to me or call me back. Come to find out that Joanne is also Dr. Lee's wife. We have since left, our last two experiences were not good. Front lady at the desk was so rude! Really bummed because we have been good clients for almost 8 years! We were treated so poorly the way she spoke to us was very condescending from the moment we walked in and at the end of our appointment, when it was time to reschedule. My husband stood there begging me not to say anything because he could tell my blood was boiling. Lol happy to take our kids where we go! I know I'm not the only one because my friend who initially referred me left as well!!! I do love the actual dentist. He is always friendly. For some reason they also became difficult to work with with our dental insurance which is great coverage. I don't understand what's going on there. Wow I cannot say enough good words for Dr Lee and team at Temecula Kids Dentistry. My son unfortunately has a mutation MTHFR that increases his chances of getting more cavities than his brother. We had seen 2 other pediatricians before see Dr Lee and it was a completely different experience, my son at the time was 8 yrs old now 10 yrs old. Dr Lee is very patient and does everything possible to make him comfortable before working on his teeth without using laughing gas. He uses local anesthesia which I felt is a lot safer for the health of my son. So many things to say about this place but for the sake of keeping this concise, I'll review the highlights. I called on a Monday and was able to have my son seen on that following Thursday. This was amazing for me because my son had some tartar buildup I wanted cleaned off as soon as possible. The day of our appointment I wasn't able to get a sitter on time so the office was more than accommodating with my 2 yr old which I appreciated so much. More importantly, I was able to go back with my son during his cleaning and X-rays. They were soooo sweet with him, made it super fun and entertaining and he even came out of the office saying "that was so much fun"- which how often do kids have fun at a dentist appt lol?! After being extremely gentle during his cleaning, they made him a special dog out of balloons. Dr Lee came out to chat with us and spent so much time educating me on different things regarding my child's teeth, wrote out this long diagram for me and explained everything thoroughly. They were all so nice and very patient!! Although we had to pay out of pocket since they were out of network with our insurance, we will absolutely be returning for future care. They are amazing and the office is huge and very clean. I love that parents are allowed back with their child and that they give the kid the best experience while at the dentist! You know you have a great dentist for your kids when you tell them they have a dentist appointment and their response is "Yay!". We have been seeing Dr. Lee since we moved to Temecula 5 years ago. First the staff is amazing! From front desk to hygienists, they are all great! Dr. Lee knows what he is doing and is great with the kids. We have always had perfect cleanings and exams except this last time. My son had his first cavity which would require a root canal. Dr Lee and his staff are amazing and always go above and beyond for their patients. We have been going to him ever since we moved to Murrieta 5 years ago. My daughter LOVES coming to the dentist and always asks when she can go again. My son, who's younger and more shy, wasn't thrilled about going to a dentist but the staff was so patient and sweet with him. When he wasn't doing well with it, Dr Lee was so gracious and patient, stopped what he was doing to make sure my son was okay. He made a point to make the experience a good one and not traumatic for him. Today he had his follow up and the girl who cleaned his teeth made a point to go over how my son did in his past visit and help accommodate him. My son has been coming here for a couple of years now and I'm happy to say that we found this dental office from Yelp! Dr. Lee is very nice and he informs you on everything that is going on with your child's dental issues. All the dental technicians and the front desk staff are friendly as well. I've never met anyone at this office that wasn't sweet. This dental office has a jungle theme which I think is really cute! They have video games in the waiting room when you check in, which is fun for the kids to play while your waiting to be called. I also have to say that we have never waited for a long time either. They have a play room and video games for your children to play, which comes in handy if you have multiple children with you to keep them occupied while they take turns seeing the dentist. While your children are laying down getting there teeth checked they have televisions on the ceiling and they can choose to play a video game or watch a movie. I think this aspect is awesome because it keeps your children distracted especially those who get scared of going to the dentist. This place makes it fun for children when they come to the dentist. They also make balloon animals for your children and let them pick out a prize from the treasure chest when there done. My son told me this dental office is cool which he has never said before about any dental office. One important thing for me is that in the past I have felt that some dentist have tried to get more money from me to do dental work that didn't have to necessarily be done and I have to say that I have never felt this way with Dr. Lee. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a dentist for your children to give Temecula Kids Dentistry a chance, you won't regret. I was so nervous to take my 6 year old to the dentist because I knew she had work to be done. She had 2 mini root canals and everyone was very helpful. It did make me feel better when things were explained. The dental assistants we're very professional and caring. The dentist did follow up calls, that's going above and beyond.
