Young smiles is the 4th office we came too because all the others just weren't right. I had brought my youngest here because she had a few cavities and needed nitrous. As it came time for her appointment Dr Young explained everything to her and me , he was very nice and I just loved his method on explaining how he had to remove the sugar bugs that she had . I was so surprised how my 4 year old just sat there and let him work on her . Of course the nitrous helped out. She felt comfortable and he got the work done . We were only there for about 45 min. I am extremely grateful that we found this office. My 8 year old has been seen by a regular dentist for years, but was having some issues with high anxiety over getting a tooth extracted. We were referred here since they had access to nitrous and I can't believe it took us so long to start using a pediatric dentist. He's always so patient with my daughter even while she screams lol (he sings to her) & also very patient with us parents when we make him repeat things or when we ask a bunch of questions. He takes his time explaining everything before he does it to make sure that you're comfortable with it. I took my daughter in for a bad cavity & she's a wiggler/screamer so she had to go under general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist they work with was awesome too! My four-year-old needed a bunch of dental work done. I researched multiple pediatric dentists in the area and after I met Dr. Young, I knew he was the perfect dentist for my son. He answered all of my questions with eloquence and was extremely informative. He was very professional, kind, and his office staff were as well. I was also very impressed with their up-to-date technology for their paperwork and billing process. They told me right upfront how much my co-pay would be and were extremely organized. I was so nervous the first time I brought him in for his two fillings (and possible pulpotomy and crown aka:baby root canal). Once he started working on him, he noticed he did not need to do a pulpotomy after all. I was very relieved. He still has to do one in our next appointment. I appreciate how Dr. Young spaced out my sons procedures so that my son did not get overwhelmed or scared and not want to come back. His first visit was very quick and smooth. I was amazed at how he spoke the entire time about the sugar bugs doing backflips and distracted him from the Novacaine shot by telling him he was freezing the sugar bugs. My son did not even know it was happening. He let me sit right next to him and allowed me to hold his hand the entire time. My son watched his favorite movie since they mount their televisions on the ceiling. Brilliant! My son also handled the laughing gas very well. They put a pink plastic dome over his nose which also helped with his view being blocked to see what was going on in his mouth. They used a protective shield around the tooth to protect his tongue from getting in the way. Everything was so well organized and he worked so well with the dental hygienist Savannah. She was so on the ball and quick and responsive to the dentist's needs. Afterwards they let my son pick out a toy out of the treasure chest and Dr. Young even showed him how to use the little skateboard toy. I think that personal touch makes all the difference because you know they really care about your little one. Dr Young even made a follow up call to us to see how my son was doing and feeling. We go back next week for the next procedure. And now my son and I are both happy and ready to go back. I am so thankful for Dr Young and his staff! I'm definitely bringing my other son here for his dental check ups and possible future treatments for many years to come. If I could give Young Smiles more than five stars I would. read more

Having moved from LA to the valley we didn't have as many options when it came to pediatric dentists. Many were just churn and burn type places where the dentist books 10 kids at once and just runs from chair to chair to see as many as possible. We went with a local one that had good reviews (I'm thinking they were well reviewed because of the price) and we regretted it. We tried nitrous sedation for my son and it didn't have an effect on him. He needed a lot of work done as the previous dentist has been pushing back the work for over a year and a half because my son wouldn't cooperate, meanwhile the decay kept getting worse. We finally were informed that IV sedation was an option and searched for a reputable dentist who could do this. We are so glad we found Dr. Young. He is professional, friendly and patient. His office was never completely busy, which usually would lead to pushed back appointments at other dentists. His entire staff is friendly and put us at ease. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Andrew, was also professional and put us at ease on what the entire procedure would be like. Nicole at the office worked with us to get the date/time that worked for us and really put in the effort to accommodate our requests (thank you so much Nicole, we wouldn't have been able to schedule if you hadn't made it work for us). As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The IV procedure is not cheap but for something this intense on someone so young, I'd gladly pay it again for the level of professionalism and expertise that Dr. Young and Dr. Andrew bring to the table. For us, it is very important that my kids feel comfortable with the dentist and the rest of the staff. Comfort can be measured ( not limited to) when the kids are willing to go back to their respective appointments, smooth behavior throughout the procedure and their ability to discuss how they felt after. My kids are very much happy with Dr. Young, i know my kids are brave enough to go through procedures without unnecessary sedation , but because all the staff know how to calm down their patients and explaining detail of the procedure in a way where kids understand without scaring the beegeezuss ( dont want to use the name of my God in vain) out of them. Well at least for me they did. The office is decorated so cute! Very kid welcoming. The staff was amazinggggg and friendly! My daughter is 3 and loved the play house and the toys. When they called her named they brought out a dragon stuffed animal that had teeth and a big tooth brush. They told her to brush the dragons teeth. That is a great idea! After that my daughter was so comfortable with the dental assistant that she did a wonderful job letting them see her teeth! I loved how kid friendly the staff and the doctor is! I would give ZERO stars if I could. Made an appointment for my son who has a broken tooth. Arrived to the office and was turned away because his temperature was 99.4. Ok I get it, we all have to be safe these days. But how much closer to perfect can you ask for? They had him sit in the waiting room (with other patients BTW) to see if his temp would go down. Nope, it went up. We sit in their hot waiting room with masks on, what do you expect? So we reschedule for a week out. Walk in, get temperatures check. Sam thing happens! Doctor wants to examine him so he can collect his exam fee, but insists we have to wait until no patients are in the back. Excuse me? We are sitting in the waiting room with two patients. What does it matter what room we are all in? And they wouldn't say they will treat him. No thank you, I walked out so quick. Drive home maybe 5 minutes, check his temp, and it's 98.5! I would never recommend going to this dentist. What a waste of time. read more

Can I give 10 STARS? PLEASE???? We brought our son to Young Smiles Pediatric Dentistry as a new patient and had a spectacular experience. From initial booking to farewell, the process was smooth. The registration process for new patients is online and can be easily completed from the comfort of your home. When we arrived to the clinic we were given a warm welcome by Alana. She explained the procedures to be performed and insurance coverage. My son was nervous since it was his first dental appointment. Jen was his dental hygienist and picked up on his apprehension. She handled the situation wonderfully by creating a fun environment to capture his interest (showing him the tools and teaching him how they are used) and welcoming him to the overhead TV....that was an excellent distraction. Dr. Young was very patient, personable and professional. He was outstanding at connecting with my son and involving him the process in such a manner that was interesting to him. We were impressive at how calm and engaged our son had become. We also appreciated the education we received about pediatric dental health. Our son loved his experience and did not want to leave. Before departing he received a dental goodie package (tooth brush, floss and tooth paste) and Season happily secured us our next appointment and wished us a great day. I love this place. They are kind and work very well with my kids. They even seen my stepdaughter in the same day as my youngest. I requested the x-rays and received them with no problems. My oldest son hasn't stopped talking about his visit. Doctor Young explains things multiple times to ensure you understand what is going on. I checked yelp and facebook for a good pedriatric Doctor for my 2 kids and i found this clinic. They were awesome during scheduling. Dr. Young told me that my daughter needs to have 4 crowns on her upper teeth. He told me that she needs to have IV Sedation (discussed pricing, copay ang procedure). I was surprised because she was really good during the cleaning and x-ray procedures. I told him i will need to discuss with my husband before making any decisions. I emailed them the following day asking: Hi Karen, (front desk) Thank you for the great experience yesterday. My husband and i spoke about my daughter's procedure. He is asking if there is another option that you can do to avoid IV Sedation? We trust your doctor don't get me wrong but as a person who worked in Operating Room and has seen tons of patients who had General Anesthesia, this scares him as a father. Also, can we can a copy of her X-ray results? Thank you. Cristine Monday i have not heard back from any of them. Tuesday i called and Jennie answered. I asked for copies of Xrays. Dr. Young is AMAZING! His bedside manner with my nervous 4 year old daughter was amazing. We unexpectedly were informed that our daughter needed an extensive amount of work on 10 of her teeth, I was very nervous about doing it under general anesthesia, but because of her age and not being able to handle the work needed even with laughing gas, we decided to go forward. Dr. Young encouraged me to think about it and talk to other dentists if needed. He didn't pressure us at all, he truly has the child's best interests at heart. The day of the scheduled appointment Dr. Young and Dr. Andrews (the anesthesiologist) were very patient and thorough with easing my nerves and explaining everything to me, they both were amazing! They were very precise and used their time effectively so as to get everything done in the least amount of time possible. Such a great team of Doctors and assistants! My daughter made it through all the work and is healing up nicely. She doesn't remember a thing except that she was sleepy and she got a toy . I am so grateful for their attention to detail and tender care they gave to my precious tiny little girl during what I would consider a major dental visit! I rarely post full blown reviews but here's the deal, DR YOUNG IS AMAZING WITH KIDS AND IS A GREAT DENTIST. My children came in for a cleaning and he was great with all 3 (a 1 year old, 5 year old, and almost 8 year old). He understood how to make them comfortable and how to explain things to them. My 5 year old had to have a procedure done and he explained every step in a way he would understand and kept him at ease the whole time. He explained every tool and showed him everything. He has baskets and bins for age appropriate toothbrushes (yes even for my 1 year old). The whole office is nice and helpful. This is literally the best dentists office. My two and a half year old is a chronic finger sucker (not his thumb, just two of his fingers). This gave him huge cavities in his front, top baby teeth. I took him to our regular dentist, but was referred to Dr. Young because we needed a pediatric dentist. Dr. Young has been nothing short of amazing! He is so patient, kind, and great with little ones. I don't know how prices compare to others, but it seems reasonable to me. I pay out of pocket as we don't have dental insurance. But the process is easy and I will keep coming back anytime my kids have dental issues. In fact, I'm getting ready to set up an appointment for my 4 year old. I almost forgot to mention, my kids love going there. The waiting room is very entertaining. It makes me happy to see the kids having fun in a dental office waiting room. Great staff and DR. Young was so amazing. Came to talk to me personally about his examination and the work he recommended that needed to be done. They helped me with everything we needed with getting a second opinion with work (baby root canal and some fillings) that need to be done with my 6yr old. First time work had to be done and my daughter did great with them. The dr made her comfortable (gave her laughing gas for the procedure) and let her take breaks when she needed it. Def a good first experience for her. Pricing was also same pricing other offices quoted us for the work so they aren't over priced and very reasonable and willing to work with you. She didn't even end up needing the baby root canal which was great! We only came here for a second opinion but they gain a new patient for how courteous and helpful they were. read more
