A great little bar! My husband and I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon and ended up staying for 5 hours. We played pool, borrowed a cribbage board from behind the bar and played with another couple and heard some people sing karaoke. There is a shot wheel at the bar and we had a blast watching other people find out what shot they were going to take. The bartenders are super attentive and friendly and the bathroom was clean. I loved it so much that I bought a Daniel Street Tavern flannel that I proudly wear around my upstate NY area. I can't wait to plan another trip just to hang out here!

This place reminds me so much of my college bars back in New York. Nothing fancy just good old cheap beer on draft. Bartender was very welcoming and talkative. A few locals at the bar chatted with us too. The bar itself is a bit worn down, my bar stool was falling apart but comfortable. Limited seats at the bar but lots of other tables and spots throughout the place. The place has a bit of a smell to it, just think it needs a good cleaning. The entire decor is lots of great bar signs and flags throughout. There is a large spin wheel with different shots on it. Very college vibe again.

New menu!! Can vouch for the new pretzel bites, tuna rolls, and crab cakes; shrimp skewers and freshly made jalapeño poppers are also hits.

Where else can you get these vibes at 9:41PM on a Monday night? Spectacular fun for everyone.

This place is a dive but not in the good sense. Place feels like it's packed with under age kids.

I had the pleasure of meeting a very cute dog who was celebrating his 18th birthday at the bar along with his two furry friends and their owners. Loved that the people at the bar were friendly and conversational even though I was a newcomer. We ordered some $5 Happy Hour cocktails, which were really great as they are made with brand name alcohol such as Stoli, Deep Eddy and Tangueray rather than no name alcohols from the well. Food happy hour specials were great too - The Waygu Beef Hotdog was served on a buttered and grilled roll and hot the spot. The fried pickles were good as well, although next time I'll ask for them extra crispy. Great place with friendly customers and employees, excellent service, and good food. Looking forward to going back!

Stopped in mid-week for lunch while visiting town. The bar was about half filled with contractors…read moreon their lunch break and locals, some drinking, a couple eating. We sat at the bar and were handed menu's and our drink order taken. The bartender was friendly and pleasant. She clearly knew the other occupants of the bar as they discussed their families, co-workers and local news. She wasn't quite as verbose with us, but why would she? We had more than enough time to make our selections, and even though we weren't in a hurry, it did feel like a long time. Still, the longer we stay, the more we drink. Right? So that works for tips. ;D She did eventually come over to take our food order between chatting, refilling drinks, welcoming more locals and taking care of bar set-up duties. So she was busy. This is a bar more than a restaurant, and the food was good. There seems to be one person on the bar and one in the kitchen. At least at lunch time. Our food came out at the same time, was warm and well prepared. The bartender put things we may need on the bar top near us: ketchup, forks, etc. and left us to it. She did check on refills during our visit. There is a small restroom opposite the bar that was clean. The ambiance here is neighborhood bar where you come to drink and spend time with your neighbors. Friendly. Not really a 'family' atmosphere. Especially with some of the language. Just FYI. It's a fair sized space and I suspect would be busy on a weekend evening. Definitely a lively spot.

Haddock was cooked perfectly and the fries that came with it were great (I enjoyed their honey mustard which you can request on the side). We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Portsmouth - we'll definitely be trying the deviled eggs, wings, and fried oreos!
