I chose Daniel's Plumbing & HVAC in September 2025 for a full HVAC replacement. I went with them because their customer service seemed great during the sales process, and they promoted a strong warranty and service plan that was included in the price. Unfortunately, the experience didn't really live up to those expectations. The installation itself didn't go as planned. During the initial appointment, measurements apparently weren't taken correctly. When the installers arrived, they realized the system wouldn't fit as expected and had to cut out part of the ceiling to make everything work. Because of this, the installation took much longer than expected and they had to come back another day to finish the job. About a month later when I tried to turn the heat on for the first time, the system didn't work. I had to call for a service appointment, and the technician discovered that the system had never actually been turned on by the installers. The tech initially tried to charge me around $100 for the visit, which I pushed back on since the issue was clearly related to the installation. After some discussion they eventually agreed not to charge me. Now that it's tax season, I've run into another issue. One of the selling points during the sales process was that the system would qualify for energy tax credits and rebates. When I started filing my taxes, I learned that the IRS requires the cost of each component to be itemized. However, my invoice from Daniel's lists everything as one lump sum. For the past couple of months I've been calling Daniel's trying to get an itemized invoice or clarification so I can properly claim the rebate. Each time I've been told that Adrian would call me back, but I never received a return call. Today I finally spoke with someone who told me they will not provide an itemized invoice and didn't really have any solution. The whole experience has been frustrating. The sales process and promises were great, but the follow-through has been disappointing. Between the installation issues, the system not being turned on, and now the lack of support with documentation for the rebates they promoted, the customer service just hasn't matched what was advertised. I'm not sure I could recommend Daniel's based on my experience. If customer service and clear communication matter to you, that's something to keep in mind. read more

We scheduled an appointment for an estimate and received an initial quote via email. After mentioning we had a more competitive offer from another company, the same Daniel's estimator provided a secondary revised quote with a lower price, which ultimately led us to choosing Daniel's for the repair. The job itself had to be rescheduled on short notice and we were accommodating to the request. However the work was completed well and the technician was friendly and professional. However, the issue came with billing. The invoice we received did not reflect the most recent discounted quote we had agreed to. We contacted the company multiple times and were told each time that a manager would call us back, but we never received a response. After several follow-ups and no resolution, the situation escalated into a frustrating phone conversation. In the end, we felt it wasn't worth continuing to pursue and paid the higher amount, despite it not matching the agreed-upon quote. While the quality of the work was good, the lack of follow-through and failure to honor the quoted price left a very disappointing impression. We were not in pressed with the professionalism of the front office and warn patrons to be weary of estimates. read more

Fantastic Plumbing service from a repeat customer! ( over the years at our home we had new water heater, HVAC, water pressure relief valve & water cut off valve to the house all replaced by Daniel's. All were five star service! This latest service was for a plumber to remove old corroded non-functioning shut off valves, in order to install new washing machine and faucets. Greg came out, gave a free estimate and he was the one doing the job himself promptly. That quote included taxes, fees, labor and parts and included some discounts. As with prior service providers from Daniels, he was very thorough, very nice and I was able to ask him about other issues that he even took a look at for things that I could do for minor issues. He was very professional and competent and even when he came across some unexpected issues he knew how to utilize other tools of the professional plumber. I've told neighbors about their service and they have had a good service with them also.I highly recommend them. read more

I would avoid this company at all costs for any HVAC matters. I went through a fiasco with them, so it's a long write-up: I saw a cheap special offer for $27 per system AC tune-up so I scheduled these guys to take a look at my dual system. When something is too good to be true, it usually is. Everything went downhill from there! Scheduling: inconsistent. They cancelled late on the day of my appointment saying the guys were busy at another job and so we rescheduled for later in the week. On the day of new appt, they kept changing the time, but eventually we were able to get on the same page. Knowledge: terrible. Two junior guys came out and did the tune-up. They said everything looked good except for the coil had some light rust and the heat pump's capacitors needed to be replaced ASAP. I asked them to measure the refrigerant levels noticing they didn't, and they told me they don't want to do that in case they'd cause a leak (HUGE RED FLAG). I can check everything else myself, I am literally paying you to check things I do not have equipment for and you're afraid you might cause a leak?! Honesty: zero. So I'm a pretty savvy DIYer and an engineer, but I often like to play dumb as a woman to see if contractors have integrity. When they pushed me to replace those capacitors ASAP, I asked for pricing. They quoted over $900 to which I was shocked and asked why so high, and one of the young techs JD blatantly lied that they have to charge for their labor and the capacitors each cost over $300. Yeah, I replaced the capacitors myself, paid $15 each. End of the appointment was an uncomfortably long sales pitch, as JD kept trying to convince me to replace my systems. I said I needed to think about it and talk with my fam, and he even asked me forward questions like whether I needed to discuss decision making with my family. Then he asked me to fill out a positive review so that he and the other junior tech could get a free lunch, and even demanded that I open up the link right in front of him and fill out the review before they left. The nightmare didn't stop there. The day after these guys tinkered with my systems, one of my HVAC units started having major issues and would stop blowing cold air and ice was building up at the heat pump. I called them and this time I got a senior technician, Phillip, to come out. He looked over everything and said complete opposite of everything his junior techs said. One system needed to be replaced right away as it was leaking oil, the refrigerant levels were low on both systems, pointed out major rust on the coil, and that the new malfunction had nothing to do with what his guys touched. I did like Phillip and appreciated his help, but no way was I ever gonna do business with this company again. I ended up shopping for replacement quotes from over 10 HVAC companies in Austin, and got it done by another company that was honest and reliable. FYI, the replacement quotes Daniel's had given me were THE most expensive among all estimates. read more

We have used Daniel's for two big issues with our house. The first time was fine. The 2nd time there were a lot of issues. We were without our hvac for 4-5 days in the summer time and they couldn't get the part. The customer service people I talked to were awful and wouldn't work with me or call me back. They finally did once I got my husband calling them as well. I said never again. Which brings us to this week. My mother was having issues with her hvac. Called Daniel's plumbing. The pros: they showed up quickly. That brings us to the cons: it took them two hrs to diagnose the issues then they wanted 1k. Did I mention my parents are on a fixed income? My mom was smart and asked for a second opinion, this other company fixed it in less than 30 min and charged her less than $300 to fix it. Was Daniel's really going to charge them an extra $700 to fix it? YEP. I'd go anywhere else than Daniel's. You'll probably pay way less. read more

I called Daniel's Plumbing as my tenant complained of no hot water all day, even after checking the breaker and the hot water timer which were both on. The hot water heater is 2 years old and is still under warranty. Daniel's Plumbing was able to send a service technician within 2 hours of my call. One might say great customer service but read further... Torrey the service technician did his diagnostic and "determined that there was something malfunctioning inside the water heater causing it not to get hot." He called me to inform me of his conclusions and provided two estimates to resolve the issue. Both estimates were to replace the hot water heater, one under the warranty and another with the Daniel's plumbing warranty. Both estimates included a $548.72 upgrade to install an expansion tank. (Not sure why that was needed. Also, not sure where that would have been placed since the area where the current hot water heater sits, is pretty tight already.) Estimate to replace under the warranty was $1725.98 (included labor for removal, installation, and testing). Estimate to replace with Daniel's Plumbing warranty was $2397.11 (included labor for removal, installation, testing plus a $239.63 safety drip pan.) Mind you there is already a safety drip pan under the existing 2 year old hot water heater in great condition. I paid the $49.00 trip and diagnostic fee and decided I would call the original installer. Meanwhile, I also called my boyfriend to relay the info Torrey had provided. He thought I needed a second opinion, thinking about what past experiences he and acquaintances have had in such instances. I even stood up for Torrey thinking this is his field and I should trust his determination. Well luckily my boyfriend (an electrical engineer) called the hot water heater manufacturer, who sent him documents on what and how to test the hot water heater parts (thermostat & element) to diagnose the issue. He has the equipment to run the test, did so and called back the manufacturer with the results and they determine the hot water heater element is okay but one of the thermostats is bad and both should be replaced. These two parts costs $43.30 and are covered under the warranty. He bought the parts and installed them himself. (I should also note my boyfriend did talk to the original installer, prior to calling the manufacturer. The original installer did not think a new water heater was needed but unfortunately, he was unavailable to assist for at least a week.) My talented boyfriend makes me a lucky lady. To think if I had no one to call but Daniel's Plumbing and trusted them, I would be out $1725.98 to $2397.11, when the job should have only costed labor to diagnose the issue and install the $43.30 parts. Very disappointing. I did relay this experience to their customer service advocate and asked for a refund for the $49.00 trip and diagnostic fee, since that was a joke. Waiting for the manager to call me back... I give Torrey a 5 star rating for being very convincing about what was needed and empathetic about the situation but, People don't be fooled! Share your story before moving forward with any high cost work and get a second opinion, it could save you thousands of dollars. read more

Terrific comprehensive plumbing experience -- from initial home inspection ahead of closing to repairs and installation. Scheduling was been easy and reliable, and communication very good. In particular ROSS did an awesome job every step of the way in everything plumbing -- he is tremendously knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and diligent with his workmanship. Mario and Luigi need to take note. During the initial inspection in the home buying process, he understood the particular focus areas of concern -- but also performed a comprehensive inspection with attention to detail to the overall state of everything plumbing related. Ross was very clear (and practical) in communicating the various observations and recommendations, as well as preparing different estimates. Afterwards, he returned to perform various repairs from placing (involving digging) a new water shut off to installing a much needed new water heater. Confirmed a cost  estimate for my water softener replacement earlier this week; I confirmed that I was scheduled between 8-12 today with a call 30 minutes in advance.... 1 p.m. rolls around and no call or text....ran the errands I delayed from a.m.; returned home around 4 p.m....still no call or text. Finally, around 5 p.m. I received a text....not a call...that the technician had an "emergency" and asked if the 'supervisor' could come by to give me an estimate on Monday. I hope they are holding their breath.... I have done business with Daniel's for the past few years and should have expected this type of incident. Although I have spent thousands of dollars for their shoddy service, I was not happy with the last two jobs they performed; I complained and never received a reply, apology or portion of refund of my billing! To anyone considering Daniel's for your plumbing work....DONT! Yeah, they have television ads & fancy trucks...but their reputation with me is garbage. To leave me waiting for an entire day and not have the time to apologize for wasting half of my weekend is terrible business. With the volume of businesses that perform this type work in the Central Texas area, none can possibly be this bad. I will be looking for another plumbing business willing to accept...and earn ...my money. read more

I feel like I got ripped off. Pipe burst due to the freezing weather, so i was pretty desperate and they were the only ones who were able to get out to my house quickly, so I didn't have much of a choice. $325 for "investigation" (cutting a hole in the drywall), $456 to remove a concrete block that was housing the PVC pipe, and an additional $800 to replace less than 2 ft of PVC pipe ($1580). I was told this was the only option, as they were just restoring water because of the disaster situation in this area (understandable), but the technician wouldn't quote me for the additional full repair, and said I needed to call to schedule an additional follow up. Called that same day and was given an appointment date over a month later. Called a few other plumbers, who not only scheduled me sooner, but quoted me $500 for the full fix (digging into the ground to properly put the pipe, as well as removing the PVC that was installed by Daniels and replacing with copper underground). Considering it being a disaster situation, my only options were to pay $1500 for a freaking PVC repair, or go another week+ without running water (i could have done everything myself besides chipping the concrete block, so essentially $1100 for removing drywall and replacing a couple feet of PVC pipe). I was also not told about financing options, and was pretty much told i needed to make an immediate decision because they were busy trying to get out to other houses that lost water during the freeze, so i ended up just putting it on my credit card (again, we're in a disaster situation, I'm housing 4 people at my house because they had been without power for days, and i just want to get water restored to my house so we can drink/cook/flush without having to walk to my neighbors house to fill 5 gallon buckets) Like I said, it feels like I got completely ripped off, which if based on other reviews I'm reading now seems standard for Daniel's (wish I had done this BEFORE hiring them, but they were the only plumber who could service my house that same week) And to hammer this point down, this was just a TEMPORARY FIX, where now i still need to hire an additional plumber to come out and do a permanent fix that doesn't leave me exposed to another freeze and burst event. This has been a disaster from the start. Our initial visit left us calling back twice for things that weren't fixed right (shower head and knobs, shouldn't be that tough?) The first scheduled appointment to fix their poor work left me waiting for all 3 hours of the window. I called and was told they didn't know when plumber would be able to get to me. I had to reschedule for today. Today I was told because of the "inconvenience," I'd be "first appointment" in another 8-11 window. It's 11:10 and the plumber is still "finishing a job." I wouldn't call that being first, would you? I've wasted 2 mornings waiting at a house (not my home) and am disgusted. Will be looking for a new plumbing company who 1) does the work right the first time and 2) can be reasonably reliable; this is ridiculous. Do not recommend. I got 6 plumbing quotes (because I had a BIG job) before I found Daniel's but when they came out and I knew these guys were the ones for the job. They were super friendly and I had a good intuition that they weren't trying to rip me off or take advantage of me. They seemed super knowledgeable (they have been around forever) and the have a LOT of positve reviews. I'm so glad I went with them and not one of the other companies I almost went with. Their price was much more fair and the job got done right. I am so relieved my plumbing is resolved and I didn't have to remortgage my house in the process. I can't recommend them enough! read more

When sewer backed up in our house on a Saturday, I called Daniel's because they offered 24 hour service. Michael was extremely helpful and made every effort to get us service as quickly as possible. Ray came out and patiently tried to work with our POS home warranty company. He gets a gold star for patience! Ray's knowledge, experience, and thoroughness averted disaster. He found a septic tank which was a complete surprise to us, our realtor and supposedly the seller. A septic company completed the job of emptying the tank and we're flushing once again! read more

$1500 or $400? My usual air-conditioning repair person was out of town, so I gave Daniels a try. The service technician, Matt, was very professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented, and he diagnosed the issue correctly. Then he called in to headquarters for the estimate, which was $1500. One of the parts, a capacitor, was familiar to me through previous experience. I noted its type and capacitance and looked it up. The cost of this part was $15 and Daniel's wanted over $500 to install one. They wanted an additional $1000 to replace a fan motor. When my regular serviceman (Wansley Refrigeration) got back in town, he replaced both the capacitor and fan motor for $400. Knowing just enough about 1 part to know I was getting screwed saved me $1100. read more

Update: I bought a new Rheem Water Heater from Home Depot but after 5 months it kept turning off. I contacted to city to endure the gas was right. Then I contacted Rheem and, after troubleshooting, they determined I needed a plumber to diagnose the problem for sure, then they'd send the replacement part. Daniel's got here in a timely manner, and quickly tried to sell me a new water heater. No, I just wanted the part replaced. It was the connection between the heater and the regulator. Rheem's guaranteed would pay for up to $125 to diagnose and replace. I provided the Rheem phone # and my claim number so no time was lost when Daniel's contacted Rheem to send the proper part. The part was shipped to me and a new Daniel's plumber came to install it. All together, Daniel's spent less than an hour at my house. The bill? $527. No parts, so Daniel's charges over $500/hr. I don't even know a lawyer who charges this. AND this comes with NO GUARANTEE! I'm grateful for the install which I should have done myself. Live and learn - buyer beware. read more

Had a horrendous experience with this company. Last Wednesday afternoon, my mother and I were at Dairy Queen on Burnet Road in Austin. While she was waiting to fill her drink, a man came and cut in front of her and was standing close. She mentioned that she was practicing social distancing in part because of her age. The man then replied that he could smell that, apparently meaning her age. She remarked about his rudeness and the man laughed at her. I observed him getting into a Daniel's Plumbing truck. I then called Daniel's Plumbing and the receptionist who answered the phone seemed concerned and claimed to have located the truck. She was apologetic and got my contact information, claiming that someone from management would contact me. Over a week later, I have yet to be contacted. This speaks volumes about their integrity and lack of commitment to customer service. I can't imagine using them for plumbing work, let alone imagine how they'd follow through on any concerns. The rudeness of one employee can be overlooked, but the lack of promised follow up is telling. read more

The tech wanted $1000 just to diagnose the issue...with actual repairs on top of that...the unit retails for $1800 at Walmart... Hello All, The Plumber who arrived at my apt was knowledge and friendly. However if you're doing an insurance and or a home warranty claim I would avoid this Plumber at all costs. This is due to what appears to be predatory Bussiness practices, or a gross negligence of their billing practices I submitted a call to Daniels Plumbing on Friday Dec 23rd. I was able to confirm an appointment with them for service on Monday Dec 25th. I was calling due to pipes bursting in my bathroom. I was sadly disappointed on Monday when they informed me they were overbooked with emergencies and canceled my appointment and rebooked me for Thursday. I understood there were a lot of emergencies that were probably more urgent then my water that I stopped leaking, so I had little concern this with. However my issue came up once they arrived at my condo for the repair. They provided a 2k estimate, and I shared at that time that I wanted to provide it to my insurance, and Home warranty for review prior to paying. After submitting it too travelers(Insurance), and Old republic(Home Warranty). Both of them requested itemized estimates explaining the labor and part costs. Daniel has been unable to provide this after 3 days of consistent calls, when contacting their scheduling team one agent was able to contact a manager and insisted a GM or customer care manager would contact me. Another agent told me there was nothing they could do. The root concerns from my Insurance and the home warranties is prices that cannot be justified, and that seems to be the case with Daniel being unable to provide a breakdown of the charges for parts and or labor. Dear Daniel management team, You should have multiple notes with contact information for my Home Warranty, and my insurance and their requests. I have an older toilet that occasionally clogs -- maybe once or twice per year at most -- so that a plunger won't do the trick. I've called plumbers who've done a simple un-clog for anywhere between $125-175. For my latest clog, I contacted Daniel's, and, to their credit, they were able to come out later that day. After briefly looking at the toilet, the tech -- friendly and professional -- said he could provide me with options. Those four options included unclogging for more than $350 (!) -- or buying a new toilet. I told him the price for unclogging was ridiculous -- I explained what I'd paid previously -- and he told me to make an offer (I said $150 -- more than fair) and that he'd check with his manager. He came back in to say there was "nothing we can do" but that they highly recommend we get a new toilet instead, and proceeded to try and sell me on the benefits of doing so. Given the price quoted for the un-clog, I was highly suspicious of this company's prices and told the tech I'd need to do some research. He sent along a quote for a new toilet via email but hadn't included the toilet's model #. So I sent a follow-up email asking for the model but didn't receive a response. From the time the tech arrived, we had the feeling this was all about up-selling us more than it was about fixing the simple problem at hand. The previous time we had a clog, about six months ago, the tech came in, unclogged the toilet in minutes, and charged $150. Given our experience with Daniel's, we did indeed decide to go with a new toilet -- but with another company. read more

I've called on Daniel's multiple times over the past few years, for various issues on 3 separate properties, and I've been happy every time. Every plumber I've interacted with has been patient, polite, courteous, professional, and good at their job. Mack, Drew, and Morgan in particular inspired me to write this review today, as they just finished installing our new tankless water heater and it's perfect. Top notch across the board and pleasant to interact with. The folks on the phone are great, too. When you're fretting about a water problem it's nice to have somebody chipper picking up the phone. I am extremely disappointed after a previous good experience. I arranged for an 8:00 AM appointment for the repair of an outdoor faucet leak. I had to turn the water off at the street the night before. A technician arrived at 11:00 AM, three hours late, totally wasting my entire morning. He then tells me that the cost of fixing the leak and replacing the faucet will be over $1100! Daniels has shown complete disregard for their customers and yet still a willingness to price gauge. They'll make "repairs" that don't really fix anything and charge you through the roof. Check out the photos from this "new" installation to see the shoddy work they do. Do these look like new installs and professional level work? Absolutely not! In the end you will have not be satisfied with the work, have to hire a different company to finish the job and just be down $500. I loved this company for so long. They showed up on time, plumbers were courteous and respectful, did what they were supposed fixed problems and went on their way. They didn't laugh too much when a small cup got stuck in the sink drain and they had to loosen the pipe under the sink to pop it out. Last year when I had my water heater drained, I was told that, if I had the contract, they'd come out for initial diagnostics on a problem at no charge,and that I'd get free annual checkups on my drains/pipes, semi-annual checkup on the HVAC and free water heater drain next year. Previously, one of their plumbers had come out to give me advice on an outside faucet which I replaced myself, so it seemed like a legitimate contract and a good deal. I bought the contract. In April, had a problem with low water at my kitchen sink so scheduled an appointment. Two plumbers showed up. They unscrewed the faucet head and screwed it back on. The pressure got better for a couple of days, but it's lower again. Daniel's plumbers were here just about 10 minutes, then sat in their vans for about 15-30 minutes before driving off. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my credit card statement- I'd been charged $89 for a something that wasn't fixed. I take partial responsibility for not asking for a written contract. They do good work but DO NOT GET THE CONTRACT! I've called to ask that they remove my credit card from their database. I'm done with this business. read more

It's incredibly shameful when a company takes advantage of someone who is dealing with a crisis in their home. It didn't start out that way, their office staff was fantastic and very helpful however when the technician showed up to my house he had the audacity to walk up to my home while I'm in full panic mode about a broken hot water heater, handing me a $4000 estimate. I almost fell over in complete shock! I do not live in a million dollar home, I live in a small three bedroom in South Austin and clearly not rolling in the dough! After the initial shock, he told me he can rework the estimate. While he worked on the estimate, I went in the house and got a hold of an amazing and reputable plumber who did not take advantage of me and in fact was fair priced and incredibly kind in my panicked situation. What I learned later is that all of these employees get paid on commission as well as a base salary. They are clearly not in the business of helping you through a crisis, but to pad their paycheck. Ever feel like fate is staring you down without you realizing it. I was buying coffee the other day and I saw two guys from Daniels plumbing walking out of a gas station and one of the younger plumbers was as polite as could be, even voluntarily opened the door for several people as they walked in while he was waiting to pay. A common courtesy that is overlooked and often taken for granted these days. I snapped a picture of their van and told myself if I ever needed a plumber, I would call these guys. 2 days later, my hot water heater is working properly and I noticed my water bill spiked since the previous month. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jayne in the office and she informed me of all the possibilities and simple things I could do myself. Plumbers get such a bad rep and I'm sure there are some really bad ones out there but you won't be disappointed by calling Daniels plumbing. This company is not reliable. They take the order , do some fix , keep it holding for several days . Always move schedule next days . They take the money before hand. So you can't move to other plumber. Water will be flooding , even it is Daniel's plumber's fault , Company will be moving the schedule next days . It happens two times , It seems like a chronic problem. I gave my positive review based on first occurrence, forgiving first incident. Yesterday , Plumber Luck (from Daniel). didn't replace PRV valve with shut off properly. During the installation I asked him about quality of the work . He was positive. But the PRV valve installation broke today ,flooding the area. Daniel plumber , couldn't install simple PRV valve successfully. Now Daniel , pushing the plumber schedule. if I call office, they blame dispatcher . always ... It seems , mode of operation is .. take the order then don't give it a priority .. pilling up more work than they can handle ... If you request them to give higher priority , they will threaten you to move the schedule to next ,next days .. read more

Had a water heater installed March 31st . During the installation, they cracked and broke the attic door. When removing the old heater, they bent and threw away the Simpli-Safe water alarm that was in the pan under the heater. When asked about it, they didn't know what it was but retrieved it and then proceeded to press it all over and set off the alarm which went through the entire house! Didn't bother to give us the serial no. or pictures of installation so that we could register warranty! Now we must climb up the broken attic stairs to do this ourselves. Had to "press them" regarding the attic door repair and the fool they selected cancelled on us twice. It is now April 29th. I would never recommend these people to anyone! I am 150% satisfied with the service I received from this company. Absolutely friendly from start to finish. Prompt in having someone come out to fix my plumbing emergency. Perfect communication. The technician assigned to me was Larry R and he was wonderful. Very skilled and knowledgeable, he repaired my shower at lightning speed. He was very friendly and kind as well. This was our first time using Daniel's for HVAC repair. The tech was very nice and courteous but the cost of the bill was very high. Turned out we only had a bad thermostat and it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, because we lost our technician and we wanted to keep our resident happy we just paid the $446 fee. Originally, we were hoping this would be the company to service our multifamily property and office building but unfortunately we wont be choosing this company due to the steep prices. read more
