The ambience is very pleasant though the wait service was lackluster, but they appeared understaffed that day so perhaps that's why. We ordered from the pre-fixe dinner menu, midweek. My wife threw me a party Saturday night 9/20/25. It was not inexpensive. The service was very bad, they didn't clear the appetizer plates before serving the main course, then they reached over the guests while they were eating to remove them. The food was mediocre at best. Not kidding. There were other parties there at the same time and only 6 or 7 servers for the entire place. We had to ask repeatedly for water and drinks because the staff abandoned us for 25 minutes at a time. Then, they plopped the cake down on the table before taking the coffee order, it was a train wreck. I would not recommend this establishment to even a person I dislike. The owner/ manager of this establishment should be ashamed. We are working class people but were treated like second class citizens. read more

Came here for the complete dinner special last Sunday. They have a ton of different options and the prices are very reasonable. My friend and I ordered the red sangria it was delicious. We all did the dinner special; Caesar salad, eggplant rollintini, fried zucchini, and mussels in white wine. We were all happy with our appetizer as they were enough to share. We each opted for a different variety of entrees; chicken francese, salmon, orrechiete, and i had the mushroom raviolis which were very tasty. The portions were large enough to bring some home. The only complaint was that once we got to dessert We ordered it which arrived very fast, but the coffee took forever and we had to remind the server. This is a really good spot. The food and service are great, and the ambiance is modern and classic at the same time. I tend to like places that have an oven just for pizza, and a full bar, so this scratches both of those itches. I also am partial to Italian restaurants that know what they are doing with steak, and this checks that box. The portions are good, and the bread is on point. It was a large group, so we passed around a number of apps and shared some fish and steak entrees. I recommend all of them. The only thing we didn't try was pizza, so we will do that next time. The only knock on the place is the location, which while spacious and accomodating of groups large and small, is unfortunately in a place where it is nearly impossible to park. They usually have valet parking which helps, but if you want to skip that, you will be driving for a bit trying to find a spot in a residential area. read more

What a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant! The staff here are so warm and welcoming...we had the repast here after a funeral. They made what was a very sad occasion better. I also had dinner here a few nights before the funeral and they treated us like family. The food is delicious. They make their bread in house...you could fill up on that. During the week, we had the complete meal which comes with an appetizer, entree, dessert and coffee. I had the stuffed mushrooms, ravioli and panna cotta. Dined there 2/22. Really falls down. Reservation made but table not set or ready and not extremely busy. After appetizer dishes removed, dirty utensils not replaced but left to reuse. Had to tell busboy to replace utensils. After Iced tea finished, glass removed by waiter never asked if I wanted a refill. One dish arrived extremely later than the others forcing everyone to wait to eat. Hot Cappuccino was passed across person to person dangerously without the server coming behind and serving each. Table not cleaned of crumbs and other matter between courses. Really needs to instruct or upgrade staff. Food generally ok. Nothing spectacular. This is a great, intimate place to go! It is my regular business lunch meeting spot every time I go to Staten Island. The service is terrific (they make a terrific extra dirty martini) and the food is spectacular! The last time we went there, I got the Fig Burrata (special), salmon tartar and caesar salad for appetizers and the bronzino for the meal. Of course the Long Island Iced teas are also PERFECT. The Fig Burrata appetizer was unforgettable. Beautifully presented, fresh, perfectly seasoned and a major hit at the table. The Salmon tartar was perfectly fresh with a slight lemony finish. The Caesar salad had the perfect amount of dressing and the huge slices of cheese on top were deeelish. By the time we got to the main meal, I was so full! We felt safe as they seated us in their heated tent area. The heaters were great & we were never cold during our stay. The fried calamari was so fresh and fried perfectly. That was a 5 in calamari. The bread was super fresh. The arugula salad with goat cheese was perfectly balanced. I had the house made ravioli with ricotta in a truffle cream sauce. It was fresh and very good, however I wouldn't say it was my favorite. The sauce was a bit creamier then I'd like and I wish it was alittle more trufflie tasting. My sister had the shrimp parm which was the winner at our table. I would get that when we go back. The cheese gnocchi were fresh and good but a bit cheesier then my brother would like & I as well. The steak that was on hot stone was a bit chewy & fatty, & it caused a the area to be overwhelmed with smoke, I'd say that was a good dish but more ventilation may be needed lol. I wanted to like this a bit more and three and a half stars would be more accurate and fair. Great attentive service is always appreciated and this place has that. Food-wise it's a bit of a mishmash. Great caponata at the start and some decent sfincione. The sweet and sour calamari is great. Now it goes sideways. Cacio e pepe tableside better be spot on. This one falls short. Pasta whole cooked ok was a bit bland and using a grana padana cheese is a mistake. The missing seasoned component of salt is found in a pecorino romano cheese. It is the authentic and correct way to make this dish. Also, a better toothier pasta like bucatini would be a better choice than what appeared to be linguine. The veal osso buco was good but it's accompanying risotto was full and lifeless and not actually risotto but slightly undercooked rice. Rookie mistake. The panacotta was too lemon-y and should have been made with vanilla bean in it as the lemon contrasted the very good blueberry compote. I think a few adjustments and focus could elevate this restaurant and would love to get feedback from an owner if reading this. read more

Read all the reviews and they were spot on. Loved this meal as did my friends. We started with grilled octopus and it was tender and flavorful. We also shared a fried calamari which has huge pieces and a tasty red sauce. My entree was jumbo rigatoni with calamari and octopus (tasted completely different from the appetizers) large portions and fresh tasting. Went here for a friend's birthday dinner last night. We're a group of about 10-12 ladies who work together and get together about once a month to celebrate birthdays. We frequent many restaurants on Staten Island and try to patronize the ones who offer prefixed dinner packages to keep the cost down. This was our first time here. I had to take one star off because we were unable to order from prefixed menu due to the size of Our party. In all fairness, I was informed at the time of the reservation that prefixed menus were only offered for parties of 8 or less. Food: excellent. We skipped appetizers in favor of having more room for dinner. I had the grilled salmon which was cooked perfectly and served with a delicious creamy pesto sauce. Judging from the lack of doggy bags, our strategy worked and everyone else seem satisfied with their meals as well. Service : a bit slow, waiter was waiting for us to close our menus before taking our order, but very attentive and friendly. For dessert we were served a complimentary Nutella pizza that was excellent along with our other selections. This is my first time in the Trattoria Toscana. We were party of four. Everything was good and all of us enjoyed our food. Portions were very large, we took the leftover home. Service were good and servers were attentive. Because of the weekday night, we were able to sit right away. Inside was warm and clean. The only downside thing for me is the non-cash charge, small but not used to see at the restaurants. As a business owner I don't like paying to bank fee either but this is part of the business expenses. Still not a big thing to take away a star, and truly believe this restaurant is 5+. Visited this place for the first time about a month ago and had the short rib special. Those tender babies must've been simmering for hours! I went back for more. Tried the fish this time. Chilean sea bass special in tin foil 'gift wrapping' was a present to my palate. Super tender, natural and no extra salt as requested. Celebrated my wife's leap year birthday at Trattoria Toscana. The whole family enjoyed the experience. Service was top notch and the food was spot on. My pasta dish was prepared with home made linguine and delicious fresh fish. The desserts were amazing, especially the tiramisu. On a side note, I can say that I personally saved the place from being burned down to the ground when I helped a staff member to extinguish a rogue and wildly flickering table candle on a nearby uninhabited and unattended table. Four stars and not five only because the room was a little too tightly packed with tables to my liking. Made it difficult to get from our table to the rest rooms, etc., without brushing up against or bumping into other guests seats. Very good food and staff. Decor is very simple. I like that they don't play loud music, so we were able to have a comfortable conversation talking at a normal volume. The salmon had a cream sauce with roasted cherry tomatoes, asparagus, and crab meat. Also came with a roasted potato, carrots, and broccoli. It was very good. My wife had the Frutta di Mare with gluten free pasta, which she enjoyed. Big portion. My daughter loved the pesto pasta. I had a taste of my Mom's lamb chops - holy crap were they delicious! She said they were the best lamb chops she ever ate at a restaurant. My Dad had the Veal Saltimbocca. It wasn't long before his dish was empty. Appetizers were also delicious. This new Italian Restaurant is only open about 6 months and has a wonderful menu and a price fixed four course dinner for $24.95 -we started off with steamed mussels in red sauce which were delish -in fact we had spoonfuls of the sauce after the muscles were gone. My wife had fried zucchini which were wonderful in a nice red sauce-She had chicken Parmesan well I enjoyed the veal Saltimboca - dessert was included. I called 3 weeks ago and made a reservation for 4 people for the Saturday, 5/13/23 for 12:30. When I was making the reservation, I knew this Saturday would be hard because of all the communions. When I spoke to the gentleman who took reservation l, he assured me that 12:30 for a party of 4 was good. Took down all my information. And said I was good to go and would see me on the 13th at 12:30pm. I don't know what made me call yesterday just to confirm. Well sure enough, whoever answered the phone (gentleman) said he saw my reservation and doesn't know why it was there. It should no be there, the restaurant is closed for parties Saturday. Really? He then proceeded to say why don't you come after 5pm after I already explained I have people coming in the early afternoon and would not be available at that time. So frustrating. Worst place to have a party. They are crooked and will charge you more than you were quoted. 1 partner will tell you one thing and the other will tell you something else.
