this deli has a wide selection of snacks, beverages, and food to choose from but I love coming here in the mornings to get a bacon, egg and cheese. This is a centrally located deli on 2nd Ave. and lots of other people love this spot too because if you come during prime time in the mornings, there is usually always a wait and I've had to wait pretty long sometimes even on weekends to get my food (but it's always worth it). The staff are really friendly and if even recommended adding a hash brown to my bacon egg and cheese sandwich, which is truly a game changer and haven't looked back since! this is also a great spot to pick up beers cider or seltzer, and as a cider lover, they always carry Downeast and even the new seasonal flavors, which I love! read more

Unfortunately, my experience at Danish Gourmet Burger and Beer wasn't exactly up to par. I ordered the Special Burger with French fries via Grubhub for about $22. Initially I thought that was rather expensive for a burger and fries, but I wanted to give the meal a shot anyway. When the meal arrived, I noticed the portion size was very generous. I received a satisfactory amount of fries and a pretty sizable burger. However, quality beats quantity by a long shot and that concept wasn't exactly maintained in this meal. The fries weren't seasoned and they were notably greasy and soggy. Upon picking each fry up, I noticed they were pretty limp and this softness made them a bit too mushy with each chew. They didn't taste the worst since the taste of the potato wasn't out of the ordinary, but the texture of the fries made it difficult to love them. I'm not sure if this was a packaging issue in terms of the steam being trapped in the container and humidifying the fries or if they were prepared in a sloppy way, but in either case it's a significant issue to keep in mind. The Special Burger, according to their menu online, is supposed to include ingredients like guacamole and pico de gallo but I didn't find any of that in my burger when I received it. It resembled your common Whopper. The beef of the burger could've held a bit more flavor, especially for its width, and I felt that the ratio of ingredients threw it off quite a bit. I noticed way too much onion and not enough lettuce, tomato, or cheese. This balance of ingredients would be essential in terms of dictating the overall taste of the burger. Fortunately, the pickle slice that was provided helped it a little but overall it seemed like a rather slapdash attempt at a burger. Organization and taste control are areas with lots of room to improve here. Overall, I believe there are places where you can find higher quality options for less strain on your pockets so this place has some wrinkles to iron out if they want to compete adequately. read more

This place is awesome! The staff includes friendly, hospitable people who appreciate their customers, and work diligently to assure quality food reached everybody that comes to their counter. The food is delicious! Bagels are light, fluffy and full. A good toast gets these baddies crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not a single employee has ever given me less than a whopping dollop of cream cheese or texas-sized portion of meat. Come here if you are hungry! A welcome addition to Murray Hill, here's a new spot that feels more like an actual deli and much less like a bodega. Nice floors and good lighting make for an upscale interior, and above all else, they have an excellent deli counter and selection of craft beers and soft beverages. They're still in "soft open" mode for now, but hopefully they'll add in a small table or two so you can actually sit inside for a bite. I ordered from Danish several times to give it a fair shot because it is so close to our apartment. The first two times the cashier handed me a menu to look at and then proceeded to tell me he doesn't sell the first 3 items I tried to order. Not that he is out of stock, he never carries these items and doesn't understand why anyone is confused when they order from the menu. This last time I called in my sandwhich order ahead, walked in about 15 minutes later and the same cashier told me that they aren't serving sandwhiches tonight and asks if I want something else. No attempt to tell me that over the phone when I placed my order or call me back afterwards to let me know. Terrible service and unapologetic about it. No more chances for Danish. read more

Their salads are very strange and are only very shredded lettuce. I believe they use the same lettuce to put in sandwiches. I did not like their salad and their beets were hard as a rock. I come here almost everyday for a breakfast sandwich / wrap, and I'd say at least 2-3 days a week they give me the wrong order. I've literally been going there since they opened ordering the same thing yet somehow they end up giving me the wrong order every time. They're trying to run this shop but doing it very poorly. The Danish Gourmet does not disappoint! The sandwiches are great and everyone is really friendly. Still some confusion when ordering (sometimes you order at the deli counter, sometimes you order at the pay counter) and the prices--though very, very good--are oftentimes irrational, but this only adds to its endearing charm. Come in at the lunch rush and the scene is like a comedy show with bungling customers and employees alike! But it is an enjoyable experience for some reason. I don't mean to disparage the Danish Gourmet at all, as these issues are simply growing pains. They'll get the hang of it, no doubt. With that said, this is my new go-to lunch spot! read more

Horrible Customer Service...Very Dissapointing Ordered from here at 8:20am for delivery and was told that our order would take about 5-10 minutes. After waiting for about an hour, I decided to just walk there to realize the hadn't even started cooking our breakfast. I speak to one of the cooks and tell him that we were told our order would be ready about an hour ago and he responds that I need to understand that they are busy. I responded that is fine but then you should let the customer know instead of us wondering where our food is at. The employee was non apologetic and kept telling me about how I need to understand how busy they are. Absolutely disgusting! I ordered French toast and bacon. I was handed a bag without butter, syrup or cutlery. When I asked for butter and syrup, the counter guy responded "oh you want that?" Of course I do! It's French Toast! When I got home I opened the platter to discover that the French toast was half-cooked, basically bread soaked in raw egg. And the bacon was burnt. It was inedible.
