After a quick search from my nearby hotel I found myself at district tap house. Service was quick and friendly. Caesar salad was a large portion and the lettuce was incredibly fresh and crisp. Ordered chicken with it and it came on the side which I don't love, but it was a large portion and cooked perfectly. 50 bucks before tip for a salad and 2 ciders, not so bad given the location. I'd come back!

Very fun happy hour spot. Steak nachos were a hit since all parts were piled high. Jalapeños, black beans, mixed cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and steaky steak. Party took to an abrupt stop since tons of people had to catch their corresponding trains to Jersey (curse you Port Authorities!). We blame this one on Terry for not showing up. Tempura onion rings were good, but they ran out of Chipotle Mayonnaise so there was only ranch and a wedge of lemon on the plate. Old fashioned with Redemption was the choice tonight #wdrinks. Service was quick and the atmosphere was lively since it was a hump of the hump of the work quarter and workweek. This is a great place to meet friends and grab a drink in the fashion capital of the fashion capital (running it twice yea) of the world.

We wanted to find a place for some local craft beer and this was near our hotel. They had more local beers than other places nearby. We were able to get a seat in a quiet corner and enjoyed some local pints. We ordered at the bar and did not have food, so I can only attest to the nice atmosphere (lots of dark heavy wood), great selection and fast service. I forgot to take a picture until we were more than half done!

So I will say I chose a different place a week ago but it was just substandard....but I made the right decision and gave District Tap House a try and boy was I impressed. This place is pretty large (from outside you don't think it's as big as it is). The bar is huge and there are ample tables in the restaurant. There is also a second bar behind the curtain all the way in the back (it seems like that bar is reserved for private parties). Make sure you make a reservation it was only fairly busy when I arrived but quickly became crowded. Most of the tables upon leaving had the reserved placards on them. Our waitress was very efficient and helpful.......I was stumped on which entree to choose and she advised that the chicken sandwich was delish and she nailed it. By far the BEST fried chicken sandwich I have had in years, lightly breaded and straight out the skillet (it was bought to me piping hot) with a side of fries with a whisper of sea salt.....10 out of 10 on this dish. Our waitress was on point, we never had to ask for anything she kept checking on us and refilling water and making sure our needs were met (sorry I forgot her name). My friend order the chicken wings (and to my shock, he normally doesn't share lol) and they were crunchy with just the right amount of spice. I appreciate that although you can choose a dipping sauce that it wasn't actually on the wings (sometimes it's just too much sauce for my liking). It wasn't actually so good I ate the wing as is I didn't try the accompanying sauce. Didn't care for the dessert but everything else was outstanding.

Came across this spot as we wanted to be near Penn Station (10 min walk away) and was impressed with how large the space was (looked small from the outside) and their take on upscale bar food. They have a HH from 4-7 with a $12 jalepeno margarita, $10 house wines and $6-$8 drafts. We tried the goat cheese croquettes which were phenomenal- the Aleppo honey sets it apart! We also tried the fried chicken sandwich and the mac and cheese and both were great. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable all things considered.

We went in to catch a World Series game and were seated at a table with a private TV monitor It was cool since we could focus on the game there as well as on the big screens around the restaurant. Service & vibes were friendly and chill. The food was decent-- we tried the classic buffalo wings, which were just okay. Still, we'll definitely be back for the big games!

So we read reviews and we loved Miguel!! The place was chill for nyc!! He took care of us. Calamari not so much but don't ignore them because of that!!

Ask the Community - District Tap House

Is this a good place to watch the World Series?

Absolutely. Great food and great envrionment for watching the game.

How early do you have to get there on Sunday to get a seat at the bar?

If you are there by one you have a very good shot at a bar stool. 12:30 for sure.

How loud is the music? Will I be able hold a conversation?

Reasonable volume. Audio is more background.

Do you play sports games with audio?

They do play the games with audio.

Looking for a place to watch game7 nba Easter conference finals but have a toddler, can we bring him?

I would think so. Has a restaurant like atmosphere more than a bar.

Is it good for teenagers too?

Sure! Great food! Has a restaurant vibe

How is it on Saturday night? Do they place music?

Every night is always a good time! We never have live music but our play list is awesome!

Do they put the US OPEN on the tv?

Yes we do, we will put anything you want on on of our 20 screens.

Hi Mike, We really miss Lauren! It hasn't been the same without her. Any chance she'll come back to bar tend?

Not sure. I think she’s trying out different things. You don’t like the new ladies? Next time you are in ask for me I’d love to hear your thoughts on what has gone so wrong.

Is there happy hour on Fridays also?

Yes. I believe it’s Monday thru Friday 4-7. Hope this helps!

Is it very loud? Or is there a back room for a smaller party?

I did not notice a back room. It was very quiet when we arrive (empty) but as it filled up obviously louder. I found it average however as it did not impact our conversation & we were sitting directly across from the bar.

Surrounding TVs keep every play, fight and miracle replayed in glorious surround-sass while wooden tables beg for pitchers, pretzels and conspiracy theories about the ref. Whether you're upstairs for the 3rd floor vibe, mid-level for the perfect sightline, or down in the cozy den with the best acoustics, this is New York sports bar energy: loud, a little brazen, impossibly welcoming. One particular bartender, Delaney not only brings an awesome level of energy to the bar, she saunters in like a halftime show -- a grin that's equal parts mischief and welcome. She's all quick elbows and quicker comebacks, the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your drink, and that one ridiculous story you told months ago. Her laugh is loud, her wink is devious, and she has a way of making first-timers feel like regulars by the second round. Behind the wooden bar she's choreography: expert pours, theatrical muddles, and a flourish that makes every order feel curated. Delaney's drinks are personality-packed, with her behind the bar, the place doesn't just serve drinks -- it gets its personality back. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

The shepherd's pie is insanely salty and it's very off-putting. It was inedible. I was looking forward to having it but I would not in good faith recommend this to anyone. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. It came with a little side of rustic chips. I would not come back for the food but I would possibly go back to try a drink if I was in the area. The drink menu looked pretty good.

This was not a credit card fee (that I can understand). It is a "transaction fee" that is applied to all invoices. Are you kidding me! I have no trouble paying a an extra dollar for a burger. They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
