We decided to explore Centreville for dinner at the last minute, we looked up a few new places we have not yet been to and landed on Danji's yelp page. Thanks to my fellow yelpers, this place indeed was great. A lot of people commented on their chicken dish and a few other entrees (most popular, seemed like) and we ended up ordering the most popular dishes. Spicy chicken was delicious, they are boneless, battered, a bit of spicy and sweetness at the same time and it was super duper crispy. A big portion and you can certainly share with two people. We also ordered marinated pork and baby octopus with assorted vegetables, rice cakes and etc. also a big portion and more than enough for two. I was pleasantly impressed how delicious both entrees were and love the fact it is so CLEAN, and open inside. Service was great, typical Korean restaurants would have this little "ring bell" on each table to make it easier to order and etc. I would like to come back fairly soon to try other entrees on their menu. 3.5 stars to be exact. Banchans were awesome - fresh, variety of them, and taste. However, their main dishes weren't not the kind that make you go "wow." It was good but not that good (I ordered donkastu and udon noodle soup). I could definitely tell that they were nice restaurant owners that care about their food so I will probably go back to try something else. read more

I've heard good things about Danji, particularly their Korean fried chicken, so after frequenting the same few restaurants in Centreville I decided to give this place a try. Seriously, get the chicken. It's fried perfection with a coating that's sweet, sticky, and just a little bit spicy. The large portion easily serves 3-4 people, but maybe you won't want to share because it's just that addicting. As for their other items, everything I've tried so far tasted very good. I especially loved the budae jjigae, which actually wasn't on the menu but was a featured special. Some of their menu items come in large orders (like the fried chicken), so I'd recommend coming here with a group so you can all share. Also, there's $1.99 draft beer! i only leave comments on yelp when i receive bad experience. i believe if restaurant is good they will receive good reviews anyway. its the bad one that people need to take attention to. anyway i ordered biji jji-gae, came out fast but the stew had burnt flavor and smell. i asked them to make me new one and when the second one came out it still had same burnt flavor and smell. i didnt ask again because i knew i would be getting the same soup that came out. i knew for fact that they were using the same soup... consider this as a warning, you dont want to eat burned food. read more

Came here to eat after having massage from the Spa world. We ordered the soup that is not on the menu. It has ham, sausage and kimchi which makes the soup tastes so good. Highly recommend it. Had "Bu Dae Jijae" the one with intestines and eel, which came with veg wraps, the flavor was well balanced and the meat and eel was cooked well. For the price, the Ban Chan was lacking and the rice was too sticky. They are using grade B rice and the MSG kicked in later. read more

A couple of friends and I decided to stop by for dinner to fix our 'boonshik' craving. We ordered the donkatsu, the Korean marinated fried chicken, and the budaejjigae. The amount of food that came out took us by surprise. Their portions are definitely hefty and filling. The donkatsu was honestly similar to ones you'd get about anywhere. The fried chicken was so crispy and flavorful. The budaejjigae hit all the right spots. Overall, a great place if you're in the area looking for a casual meal! read more

Danji is a small but has the fantastic authentic korean food which I highly recommend!! Their dumplings are so good I ended up ordering more than I could handle. A new restaurant in a busy strip mall.. I had to try it! When you walk in, it's very small and around dinner time, it wasn't packed at all. The ambiance of the restaurant was mellow and the worst part about it was that it felt more of a bar than a restaurant with old ahjushi's (men) drinking bottle after bottle of soju. The food was decent for what we paid. The portions are larger than they advertise. My girlfriend got (boo dae jiggae) which came with a LOT of meat.. I would recommend it! and I got (jjol myun) and it tasted pretty good. The ban chan was mediocre with limited choices but it is a good place to get a decent meal for a decent price. Service was good overall. If you want to try something other than Jangwon banjum, this could be your cup of tea. read more

Had no idea about this place until my friends mentioned it so we decided to go here last night just to double date/celebrate a birthday.  When I walked there - there was a good amount of people inside.  Lady greeted us and pointed to the table for us to sit at.  She brought over the menus then we browsed through it and waited a while until they finally took our order.  We kept having to wave them down every time we needed something.  The guys ordered draft beers which was only $1.99(good price) but the lady forgot to bring it and they had to get her attention again to remind her.  Our food came out gradually -- there is a lot of items on their menu which I will definitely come back to try other things.  We ordered the fish cakes on skewers, grilled beef short ribs, kimbap, bulgogi kimbap, and korean fried chicken.  Everything was very flavorful and their side dishes that comes with your order was good.  I'm knocking a star because of the customer service which was very slow and slacking. read more

A definite 4.5 as the food was great and prices were reasonable. Three of us ordered the Korean fried chicken, udon noodles, and kimbap all to share. After seeing the hugeness of the portion of our neighboring table's fried chicken, we opted to order just two smaller dishes to share. We completely finished the udon noodles and kimbap but were too full to finish all of the chicken. It is seriously a lot of chicken that they gave. The total came out to around $30 pre-tax/tip which was great for dinner! The fried chicken was great. Nearly every table had an order of the fried chicken which probably shows that it is something you should definitely order if you come here. It came out piping hot, right out of the fryer. It was super crispy which I loved and the chicken was so tender. The sauce, although it says spicy sauce, was sweet (there was no spice that I could taste on it). Definitely a treat. The udon noodles were yummy. I was hit with a craving for udon noodles so this dish was really satisfying. The broth for it was delicious, as were the toppings inside such as fish cake, carrots, onions, cabbage, and some seaweed. I particularly liked the onions in the broth for some reason. The kimbap was fairly average but still good! It came with many more pieces than we even expected so it was definitely a good value. We also got four small plates that came with our meal: pickled radish, kimchi, mashed potatoes, string beans with anchovies. All were great! Overall, definitely a place to try for dinner if you're in the area. Only reason why I wouldn't give that complete 5 stars is that the service was a bit lacking and the food wasn't exceptional enough to make up for that. This place took over for a mediocre Korean restaurant; I felt like the food was the same and the name just changed. It was average Korean food that you would find inside an Asian supermarket. We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken and Spicy Pork it was awesome. Had read the reviews about the Korean Fried Chicken but they didn't do it justice outstanding. The serving cost 16.99 but you an feed 3 people with it its huge. The Spicy Pork with white sticky rice was also great very please with the food. Side dishes were very tasty. Only drawback is service while very friendly is on slow side and English is definitely a second language. But we will be going back again soon. Well worth the wait. read more

The manager is extremely rude. I'm vegan, I ordered rice with vegetables, the plate came down with beef and an egg. When I asked for the order to be fixed, the manger got mad and practically asked us to leave the restaurant. He was also staring at us the entire time we were eating our meal. The food was good but the service was so terrible that I will certainly not be coming back here anytime soon. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in the area that have better service than the one here. I came for lunch with a party of 5 and the restaurant was relatively empty. The lady, who never greeted or welcomed us, insisted that we sit at a particular table and when we requested to sit somewhere else (this was before we were seated), she looked annoyed. Then our waitress (the same lady who never greeted us) proceeded to tell us that there's no hot tea, just regular water. One of the people in my group arrived late and requested to have hot tea with her lunch order, to which our waitress rudely responded with, "i already told you that there's no hot tea". Wow! I think McDonald's staff has better service attitude than this. The food was good, but our waitress never came to check on us and just put our check on the table. At the end, she took our food away before even asking whether we were done or not. Needless to say, we will not be coming back or would we recommend anyone to come here. read more
