Very good food with a cool atmosphere. We usually get the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Burrito. It is so dank. The salsa bar is on point as well. The mango salsa is scrumptious. We drove by here a few weeks ago and my husband has been dying to try them. Today we were in the neighborhood and we decided to stop in. Everything is just gorgeous about this place. It instantly made me feel as if I was back in Hawaii for some reason, and that's a huge plus for me.I had the jerk chicken and I wasn't impressed at all. It seemed to lack some freshness. It was heavy and just a ton of seasoning. My husband had the carne asada I believe. He was so disappointed. It's shocking coming from him because he is never picky. We were staying at Atlantic Beach, but wanted to get away from a music festival crowd so we headed back across the causeway for some dinner. Great reviews directed us to try Dank Burrito. You have the option of picking your protein- chicken, carne Asada, mahi, pork, maybe a limited special, - in two tacos, a burrito or a bowl. Kids have a choice of a taco or quesadilla with chicken. My advice is go with the bowl. I had carne asada and it was so good. Good quality and perfectly prepared with really nice rice and beans and fresh pico. The tacos do not have the rice and beans included at all. Burrito looked good, but I preferred the bowl. The kids' meals were really good and well prepared too. Not a junky after thought like some places. Meals come with fresh made thick crunchy tortilla chips to have with the options on the salsa bar. I recommend the spicy pico! We enjoyed our dinner so much we planned our trip home to stop back at lunch time on our way back out to 70! So good! Be sure to keep an eye out for the food truck too! I had to drive to morehead while on a recent vacation to EI and since it was lunchtime did a quick Yelp search for a highly-reviewed place to grab something quick; Dank Burrito did not disappoint. I had the pulled pork tacos with kimchi, jerk chicken tacos, and mac & cheese with carne asada and all 3 were excellent. The chips were good and the salsa selection was exceptional as well. Also have to say the service was exceptional. I walked in and did my normal opening question of, "first time here, what do you recommend?", and the young man taking my order walked me through everything like a pro. The chalkboard menu could have been a little overwhelming and he helped us first-timers through it like a pro. Wow is this place amazing. Came with a group of four and we got burritos tacos and a bowl all of which were definitely "dank" the burritos were bigger and better than chipotle. Tacos were absolutely delicious and the bowl was also amazing. All the food was cocked perfectly, well seasoned and extremely flavorful. Guac and salsa was wonderful. Definitely the best burrito/taco place I have ever ate at. Everyone enjoyed they're food we went for a small snack well let's just say that's not how it ended the portions are very generous. Girlfriend and I both ate here this past weekend. We both ate burritos. I tried to get chips & guac however they said they didn't have any ripe avocados so no guac for me (let me reiterate we're at a burrito joint). I ordered the carne asada and my girlfriend ordered the jerk chicken. My burrito was just OK, a bit on the spicy side, I like spicy but the average person would probably find this too spicy (my girlfriend found hers' too spicy) - seemed to be more tortilla than filling. Besides the spice, the burrito filling was kinda just bland made up of mostly rice and beans. Chips on the side were good (wish I had some guac). My girlfriend's burrito was completely split down the side on opening, so she had to attempt to eat it with a fork, turned into a complete mess. Overall, we didn't really enjoy it and will be skipping on our next trip through Atlantic Beach. Maybe somebody needs to lay off the dank for a bit and re-think the operation of this burrito joint. read more

As a vegan, this is one of the few places in the Morehead City area that I can go eat and really enjoy what I get. My usual order is the tree hugger tacos with the pineapple mango salsa, no sour cream. My mom really enjoys the pork belly tacos! The chips that come on the side are really delicious too. The service is always quick and friendly. My only complaint is that they never put the pineapple mango salsa in the salsa bar. Also, it's a good deal--I'm pretty small, so getting the two tacos with chips on the side is enough for 1.5/2 meals for me. read more
