I first heard about this place through a few friends and wanted to try it out because of the affordable pricing! Pros - Affordable price ($25 for a haircut, no wash) - Danni is super experienced! She's been doing this for 16 years! - Although the space is small, Danni does a great job keeping it clean and tidy - She is very timely! My appointment was at 1pm and she was ready for me. Her next appointment was at 1:40, and she finished my haircut at 1:38pm! - She's fast, but careful and accurate - I love that she wasn't pushy about what I wanted with my hair. She gave a few suggestions, which were all wonderful! She definitely knows how to cut Asian people's hair! - She had a movie playing right in front of the mirror to keep me entertained Cons - It's kind of a difficult place to find. Danni has done a fantastic job maintaining my husband and I's hair. It was a struggle finding an asian hair salon in San Antonio, but upon hearing about Danni from a friend, I immediately made an appointment and have been going to her since! She is very communicative, timely, and prompt with her responses and I've never had a problem making an appointment. We can easily make appointments via phone call or text and she's always been polite. As for the men's haircut, she does a fantastic fade on hubby's hair and we're always been pleased with the result. Surprisingly, we've had trouble getting a good fade on the back and sides at other places in SA, but Danni always does a great job! I have also gone to her a few times for a hair trim and she does a great job. She never questions if I want to go shorter and respects my decision to keep it long. She's the type of stylist to encourage long hair, so I never worry about her trimming more than she needs to. $25 for women's trim (no shampoo or styling done). This was my first time getting color and i'm so glad Danni provides fantastic results! Since i started going to her for my cuts, at least 3 of my friends have also found her to be the woman for the job. She's a specialist in Asian hairstyles, classic cuts, and current trends! Highlights start at $65 and full color starts at $115, both of which are very reasonable. I wanted an ombre fade in the lower half of my hair at first which resulted in exactly what I pictured. A few days later, I had second thoughts (Don't we all?? No? Maybe just me) and went back to add in highlights! She even added in a free cut and style for seeing her twice in the same week. Her products also left my hair in a much better condition than I expected. My dark hair happened to take 5+ hours for the bleaching alone and a couple rounds of toner. I was on the search for someone in San Antonio who has experience cutting Asian hair, which can be difficult to cut and style due to its texture, resistance to color, etc. Luckily, a friend told me about Danni. She is very friendly and an expert in what she does--she takes into consideration your face shape and preferences, makes careful and skilled cuts, and (most importantly IMO) takes her time. I have visited her twice and the service was consistently 5/5. Plus, her prices (eg, $25/haircut) can't be beat. I got lost (which sadly happens all the time) finding her salon during my first visit, so here are some tips/info for my fellow topographically-disoriented compadres: First, her salon is one of many other boutiques and services (e.g., other hair salons, lash extensions) within a building called "Salons by JC Legacy," which is next to Staples. There is plenty of parking in the lot in front, just make sure not to park at the bank nearby. When you enter the building, her room is the very first one to the left. The door is normally left ajar, so either knock or awkwardly try to catch her attention and you are on your way (hopefully) to looking like the bomb.com with your new hairdo. read more

Ok apologies cause this may end up being the longest review ever....so I'll keep the beginning short and sweet. I told Danni what I wanted and she delivered! I was able to show her pics of what I liked and we worked together to make the right choice for my hair. I am a mom of 4 and taking the time for myself comes only once in a blue moon. Danni and I started communicating last week thru yelp and made plans for a spiral perm. We tried for Wednesday but that didn't work and then she offered Saturday which ended up being perfect. Super excited Saturday We of course showed up early to allow my nerves to go away before going in. Took my oldest daughter for the appt while my two littles did some errands with dad. We immediately hit it off and I knew that taking chances with Danni was going to be a good one. Not only are her reviews wonderful but she's even better in person. She has a lot of personality and her little salon is extremely homey. My daughter was so at home and we were able to enjoy Netflix that she lets us pick what we wanted to watch for the almost 4 hours we were there. Being with someone that long gives you a lot of time to chit chat and have a few laughs. Went thru the entire process with great ease. She even was able to cut some of my long hair before the perm to freshen up and remove the dead ends. We finished up and was so pleased how the curls were the right size and it all looked great. Sunday was rough day of not touching my hair and no washing but I survived. The excitement to wash it was right around the corner!! Yay!! Today Monday was my first day to wash my hair. Though I was supposed to wait the full 48 I couldn't. So my hair after 40 hours had to be washed so that I could come out of hiding from the stinky perm lol (honestly it's not really that bad of a smell) I had some errands to run so couldn't leave the house with messy hair.
