I was so excited to see her again after 11 months of not getting my hair cut due to having a crappy job who worked me ragged. But on the day of my appointment , she sent a confirmation text at 9:06 am and my appointment which was at 10:30 am . She cancelled the appointment at 9:58 am, no warning about this policy or anything, not a " hey, look out for a confirmation text " etc. I'm a person who barely has the time to take care of myself . I am also a new mother , and now that I'm on maternity leave, I thought I could finally get a haircut . The reason why I was unable to answer her text was because I was breastfeeding my baby, burping him and then giving him to his father so I can leave to get to my appointment on time . I arrived at 10:20 am and that's when I looked at my text messages . My phone was also on silent so it wouldn't disturb the baby. I pleaded with her and all she said was that she was sorry . If I only knew about the policy or if a confirmation text was sent at least a day ahead I would have confirmed . I am now crying in my car , maybe it's the hormones I don't know . But the fact I am being punished for other people not showing to her appointments is ridiculous . I don't know how someone can be this cold hearted to a customer .

I had a picture that was provided upon making the appointment and at the time of the appointment as a reference my end result is 3 inches shorter than what was requested. I scheduled a wash cut and style. She only cut and styled it. I will say I arrived with my hair already washed however, I did express my request for another wash with detox shampoo, and conditioner, and that was not done . I've been to many barbers with my long hair and NONE have been able to properly shorten my hair without absolutely botching my curls. Destiny however was different. Also I made this account to leave a review, hence no other reviews. I went to the salon the other day just to dye my hair one specific color (not intricate at all just a solid color on half my head) I showed the stylist a picture (of cherry red hair) and picked my own color (vibrant cherry red) I already have ginger hair so I didn't think it would be that much of a difference but I'm not a stylist so I don't know for sure. When my hair was done it was purple. A super vibrant purple, like almost no red at all (other than my natural color). I told her I wanted it to be red, like the photo and the sample, she said it was strange that it was so vibrant "violet" and I guess removed some of the color and added red (I'm not sure if that's what she did but she said she would try to fix it). By the time we had finished, 3 hours had passed and my hair was still purple. I called today and asked for the color used on my hair, looked it up and sure enough it was purple. (Side note: They just called again and I didn't pick up but they left a voicemail and said it was actually a DIFFERENT hair dye which is more of a maroon) I don't actually know which one they used but at first it was DEFINITELY vibrant dark purple so I doubt it was the maroon one, especially because my natural hair is ginger. I want to be clear and say everyone was so nice and sweet and I would definitely come back if it wasn't for an (I'm sure) miscommunication. I won't name the stylist's name either because she was so nice and meant well it's just not what I wanted.. at all and I paid quite a bit for the service. I hurried out of the salon as I had another commitment. I don't like to complain but this felt worthy as I want to avoid others from having the same experience as I did. Remember to communicate with your stylist and don't be a doormat! If something feels wrong, it is, advocate for your self.
