Let's start by mentioning that I have been to Danny Sheehan's many times over the past 5 years or more, and I keep waiting for them to impress me, but they just don't. Service is always impressive. I'm often in there for a family dinner; a larger group which can often be difficult to manage, and the servers are always on the ball, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. Unfortunately I consistently find the food they put on the table is just way overpriced for how absolutely mid-level it is. Steaks are unimpressive. Seafood often over-cooked and rubbery. The product and price-point are in conflict with each other. Remember, 3-stars is good. I wanted this restaurant to live up to its rating, but sadly I was really disappointed. The service was below average. It took 10-15 minutes after we were seated before our server even came to our table. Based on that, we were ready with our whole order and provided it. The table next to us had drinks/apps when we sat down, but didn't place their dinner order until 20 minutes after we did. I waited another 10-15 minutes for my cocktail. Our appetizer came another 10-15 minutes later, then our salads another 10. Then we sat. And sat. And sat. The table next to us received their meals. Our server was no where. After another 15 minutes, I saw her across the room and walked to her to inquire. She said our meal was up next and offered to comp my drink for the wait. The food came. It was about as disappointing as the service. The filet and the ribeye were both dry and flavorless. The sides were about the same. Delicious Steaks with just the right amount of marbling that are seasoned and grilled to perfection so the juicy tenderness

My mother in law took us here for my birthday. It's a little old fashioned but elegant. My husband had steak. It was a big cut so he was able to take some home for leftovers the next day. She had a steak sandwich. I had the horseradish encrusted salmon with au gratin potatoes. The "crust" included a lot of bread crumbs. It was a little too thick so it didn't really create a crust, and I didn't pick up any horseradish. I scraped most of it off, but the salmon itself was really thick and tasty. The potatoes were cubed instead of the thinly sliced potatoes I expected. Next time I'd stick with mashed potatoes or maybe fries. They surprised me with a wonderful cheesecake including a candle for my birthday. I didn't use the raspberry sauce it came with, but that was a nice touch, too. This place has some pretty decent food. Its a bar restaurant combo. Main dining area was in the back. Plenty of parking in the private lot attached. The dining area itself was homey and warm. Decor is a bit stale and the silverware had some foggy smear on it. My cloth napkin had a dry food chunk on it which was kind of gross. The waitresses were both quite nice and took time to explain specials and answer questions. We got the veal parm with pasta and the chicken sandwich. Both were decent but the flavor didn't match the cost. Items were quite expensive. The value just doesn't justify a return visit from us, but there seemed to be regulars there, as waitresses addressed some patrons on a first name basis. If you are in the area, check it out and let us know! We were also told all the chefs were in the kitchen watching the Bills game, which the servers apologized for the noise they were making. Absolutely amazing dinner in Lockport, NY. Definitely worth the drive (about 25 min) from our Niagara Falls hotel. Arrived at 5pm on a Friday night and parking lot was pretty empty so there was a slight bit of concern... had made reservations which is for sure a must if any later... by the time we left about 6:30pm, there was not a seat in the house and the bar area was packed with locals waiting for a table! The Yelp reviews knocked this one out of the park as it is how we found this gem. For our meals, we ordered the NY Strip and Shrimp, two Surf and Turfs (6oz filet & 8oz lobster), and a Land and Sea (10 oz prime rib & 8 oz lobster). All four meals were spot on... deliciously tender meat... and the lobsters were cooked to perfection. Shout out to the cook... who by the way, was very helpful and pleasant when he took my reservation over the phone at 12:30pm while he was obviously cooking my prime rib ! The entire staff was great... Maddie our server and the bus boys who constantly refilled our drinks. I began the meal with a tasty cup of French Onion soup and a nice house salad; then we all capped it off with cheesecake and peanut butter pie... incredible from beginning to end. Our meal here was so disappointing while being very expensive. The onion rings were hard as a rock. We asked for a fresh order but were told they were "all out." This was at 6pm on a Friday...all out? My friend dined at another table and was served onion rings after we returned ours. Our salads looked like they were pulled out of the garbage - wilted with Romaine leaves that had turned pink. I have only been to this place twice. The staff is really nice and attentive. I would give them five stars based off of the service they provided. Unfortunately the food was where we ran into sort of an issue. Both times I had the fish fry which I enjoyed. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, stuffed peppers and corn fritters for starters. The corn fitters were not done (goopy) in the middle, the mushrooms had very little flavor. I also had the French onion soup which had absolutely 0 flavor whatsoever!
