Every Tuesday my Husband and I love to go out for date night. We will search where we are and just find a resturant to go try. This one was suggested by a friend and It did not disappoint. My husband was working a job out in Lockport so it was right down the road. At first glance it doesnt look like much, but once inside its gorgeous. The lights were dimmed just right and the ambiance Was emaculant. It turned out this was a romantic little hole in the wall with real food. Im the type of person who is very particular with food, especially these days where we really dont know whats real and whats not. This was truly real food with a real Italian chefs touch. Its the best food ive had in a long time. I would and will be suggesting this resturant to my friends and family, and we sure will be back very soon! Its very family friendly. We had the pleasure, a few nights ago, of having dinner here. We opted for the $79 dinner special. It started with an appetizer to share. We ordered the fried calamari. It was a very generous portion, more than enough for the 2 of us. The calamari was prepared perfectly with just the right amount of coating. This was followed by a nice side salad. I then ordered the crab cakes which were loaded with tasty crab. My husband got the veal parm. Then for dessert we shared a peanut butter pie. All this was enjoyed with a nice bottle of wine. Went here for dinner for the first time. It was the right combination of cuisines. They consider themselves an Italian/Seafood restaurant. This is the perfect combination for us. I can always find an Italian dish that would fit the bill and my wife is a Seafood person. The service was fast and the food came out in a timely manner. Stopped by to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Did not have a reservation but we're able to get a table in the front for a Saturday night. Chose the dinner for 2 for $69 plus an additional $10 for a bottle of wine. The meal was very good and the service was awesome. We shared clams casino for an appetizer. I had crab cakes and my husband had a steak which included a salad. We then shared a piece of peanut butter pie which was part of the dinner special. We came in early on a Saturday evening for our anniversary. We didn't have a reservation but got a table immediately. The place did fill up as the evening wore on. This is a throwback nice restaurant with cloth tablecloths and cloth napkins and a real Candle on the table. We opted for the dinner for two for $69. There is one appetizer to share, two entrees, and one dessert to share. We also ordered a bottle of white zinfandel which was $10 with the two for 69 menu. Our appetizer of choice was baked stuffed clams, which were excellent. My wife chose the Maryland style crab cakes for her entree, I had a 10 oz Angus New York strip steak medium rare. These were accompanied by two chef salads. I have to say all of our choices were winners! Our waiter was very efficient and professional. We topped it off with piece of peanut butter pie to share. I had this twice while in town. First night was the chicken parmesan with Alfredo on the side. I assumed I was replacing the spaghetti noodles with the Alfredo but that wasn't the case. The Alfredo was one of the best I've had. The chicken parmesan was good. The next visit I wanted to try the lasagna. It was good but I've had better. I wish I could put my finger on what exactly it needed but can't. The portions were really good. Couldn't finish the plates either night. To go service was super friendly. Do read all of my previous reviews. We are weekly regulars here. As a result, we are on a first name basis with staff. The owner, Bob, is hands-on, an incredibly inviting host, and an overall NICE guy to say the least. He is appreciative of ALL of his customers. We have pretty much eaten our way through the entire menu. This is the place to go if you are looking for something as simple as large sized wings or something more formal like surf and turf or anything in between. All beef offerings are of EXCELLENT QUALITY. Solid pasta and seafood offerings. All daily specials are posted on Cammarata's Facebook page. Prices are still reasonable in this day and age. I've been here several times over the years (at the request of family members) and it's always been consistently meh. Was just here for Easter dinner so there was a limited menu and we were informed upon ordering that they were out of several items, including what I was going to order. I ended up going with the ravioli. It was okay, but it didn't blow me away. I thought there was way too much sauce which was too sweet for my taste. The filling was okay. My husband got steak and he also thought it wasn't impressive. This place is not cheap so I would expect the food to be higher quality but that was not the case. The waitress was not very friendly either. I probably would not go back on my own but I'm sure I'll end up here as my extended family thinks it is tradition. read more

Although the building is nothing special on the outside, you can feel the hospitality the minute you walk through the door! We were visiting the area and we're hungry for some good Italian food. After searching what was local, we read some good reviews on Yelp about this restaurant. My test item on any Italian menu is Lasagne...how can you not love creamy, full bodied, melt in your mouth Lasagna? Well, unless you're a Vegan (non Dairy-umm, maybe not) The hubby had his go to "test item, eggplant Parmigiana... I can honestly say both entrees were deee-licious! If I ever come back to the Lockport area, I'll definitely go back for other things on the menu. The prices are reasonable and right in line with other places. Our server, Jodie, was attentive, nice and right there to assist us if we needed it. The portions were very generous and I took half my dinner home. Won't it get better tomorrow? I think so but not sure how much better it can get? Do you have lots of options for Italian food? Sure, but I'd suggest you give Cammarata's a visit for some really good food! read more

A Solid 4 stars. Very good service and good quality food. I ordered the Raviolis and Meatball. The Raviolis are huge but I found the sauce a little sweet for me. They are homemade and I really enjoyed the cheese filling. They serve bread with the salad but I feel they should serve bread right away. My husband ordered the steak and scallops. Really nice meal and awesome service. Probably the best service I've had in quite some time. The place was quiet and a little outdated, but the food was great. We ordered from their dinner for two menu. The stuff clams were really good, I've never seen them in a fake clam shell, I thought it was funny. I ordered the stuffed shrimp au gratin. It was okay. There was a little too much stuffing and not enough au gratin. It wasn't exactly what I expected. My boyfriend had the veal parm and had zero complaints. Both portions were huge and we took home leftovers. For dessert we took the peanut butter pie to go. It was an excellent late night snack. read more

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here tonight. I've lived in Lockport for 47 years, and tonight was the first time I've tried Cammarata's. We were quickly seated and the place was nice looking- my first time there. We met the owner who walked around greeting everyone. For appetizers we ordered escargot served on thin spaghetti and fried calamari. My brother ordered a steak ( we'll done) along with my daughter (med rare), I ordered Linguine w/red clam sauce my brother's GF ordered lamb chops. The waitress was super nice but gave my brother and daughter the wrong steaks. The escargot was DELICIOUS and the fried calamari perfectl. My daughter said the steak was delicious but my brother GF said the lamb chops were tough ( they looked too thick and grisly) my Linguine was good but tasted like boxed pasta and ewww sweet sauce- HATE sweet sauce. My daughter got a piece of cheesecake with cherries ( looked good) no bread for the table but I got a thick slice of garlic bread with my meal. The salads they serve with dinner are mediocre and don't get the house- tasted old. I would go here again but only for the steak/ they looked amazing!! My neighbour said this is his favorite place for special occasions. I have been here twice. A poor experience needs a "do over" in case it was just an aberration the first time. No, it was consistently substandard for Italian. Soupy chicken marsala, and they say it is what they are known for. I will not give this place a third try. read more

My family (5) and I wanted to go to a restaurant we hadn't been to before to celebrate a birthday. I saw several posts that Cammarata's posted about themselves and their daily specials on Facebook and decided to give it a try. First, their meal prices are quite a bit higher than others that offer the same basic fair. We went on a Saturday evening - 3 of us ordered the rib steak and what we got was the left over prime rib from their Friday dinner special reheated on a grill with way too much oil with kitchen bouquet added that must have been added to keep it from drying out and some spices sprinkled on top. Not good and tasted like what it was, leftovers! I got spaghetti as my side dish and for place that advertises itself as "Italian" it was not pleasant at all. The pasta tasted like it was either a cheap generic brand or old and the sauce, what little there was of it, wasn't tasty either. Can't recall the price. Another of our party ordered a tenderloin steak - it was small and rather tasteless Price: $50 for that. There was a very sparse salad served before the meal. Can't remember what everyone had but at the end we all agreed that none of the meals were enjoyed. Considering that the only alcohol anyone consumed was one draft beer and the rest had soft drinks the bill was shocking. All in all, the food edible but not enjoyable, there's no atmosphere the prices are unwarranted for the quality of food but the server was very nice. read more

This is a great place to go for an upscale dinner. They have an extensive menu with lots of options to choose from. The menu consists of seafood, steaks, chicken, and salads. They had many specials on the board that were not on the menu so it made it hard to narrow it down. The salad with the peppercorn dressing is a must. The dressing alone makes the salad. I got the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection and the fries were nice and crispy. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. We were too full for dessert, but they had many things to choose from that sounded great. We will be back for more great food soon! read more

Every now and then I crave red meat. Lately my Steak destinations have been hit or miss. At Cammarata's it's never a miss always a hit. I don't ask much. Just bring it out rare and confirm that I am indeed eating a restaurant steak. I want restaurant mouth feel, not domestic kitchen mouth feel. Cammarata's satisfies my Steak preferences. Of course the meat is the center of the plate but the starches and the veggies are just as good. Want a real steakhouse Steak? Sit down, order a cup of French Onion Soup. Food very average... service below average. Server had no idea what was going on. I ordered the broiled seafood platter. Good portion however the butter wasn't hot and the lobster was very dry. Scallops were large and juicy though and the shrimp was pleasant. I like the rolls they serve before dinner. I asked questions about the menu and the server literally didn't know... like "what sides do you have?" And "what is the sauce for the salmon today" didn't know these were difficult questions. Consistently phenomenal meals. We tried various dishes on the menu and all exceeded our expectations. The chicken romano and filet- two of our favorites. A great place to come in as a family, have a quiet date night, or nightcap at the bar with the friendly bartenders at the end of a long work day. Mediocre..... that's the nicest thing I can say. Well, sort of.... our server was nice, but disappeared once our meal was served. Clearly, a local hang out for the blue hairs of Lockport. My husband and I ordered the ribeye.... a little salt and pepper fixed the blandness of our meal. Our wait gave us the time to amuse ourselves with the 1980's decor. Came here on the suggestion of a friend who lives in these parts... was just looking for someplace I hadn't been before. Cammarata's is completely average in every way. I don't mean that as an insult... it's just a basic family restaurant. No bells, no whistles... just a regular American place. I had a good dinner here... eggplant parm... I've had better, I've had worse. Portions are large, there's a standard beer and good wine list (MANY local wines - nice!), and friendly staff. They're doing something right... it looked like there were a TON of regulars in the dining room and the decor looked alittle dated, so they've probably been in business for awhile. Let's be honest: this place has been around forever, and they last updated around 1993. But their lasagna is awesome. Food is consistent, every time I go, and service is typically good. However, they totally blew off customers (me!) at the Taste of Lockport a couple of years ago-- stood in line, girl walks up to us, then walked away!-- even their manager was yelling at them. Last summer was almost the same, but I remembered previous experience, so I ended up waving my hands in the Air and saying "hi". As long as I don't have to do that in the restaurant, it's all good. read more

I walked in with my family and the first thing I noticed was that it is obviously an order crowd hangout. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Looking at the menu you realize this is going to be an EXPENSIVE night. I had French onion soup to start which was good, it had some of the best cheese I've ever had on a French onion soup but it was missing that subtle sweetness you want from the onions and instead was more peppery (if you like that more power to ya). I had the tornado ala marsalas which is a nice cut of steak in a almost sherry gravy sauce with mushrooms and onions. It was pretty good however the big issue I had was almost the EXACT SAME sauce on two other dishes the table ordered besides mine. I don't know about you but that bothered me a lot. I expect each dish to be different and unique at a restaurant or else what's the point if half the dishes taste the same? We also got desert, I ordered the NY style cheesecake with strawberries. It was ok, it was a little grainy and not as smooth and creamy as NY style cheesecake should be. All in all, pretty good food, but overpriced for the quality. I don't think I can get passed multiple dishes using the same sauce though. read more
