Whenever I visited him in Lockport, this was one of the places we'd come for breakfast. Walking back through the door all these years later felt like stepping into a time machine. The best part? It still feels like a real diner. Counter seating. The sounds of breakfast being cooked. Regulars coming and going. Friendly conversation. No gimmicks. No trendy menu items. Just good food and genuine hospitality. I ordered the Breakfast Special: two eggs over easy, crispy home fries, sausage links, toast, and coffee. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. Simple, hot, and satisfying. The service was outstanding. Lynda took great care of me and made me feel welcome from the moment I sat down. As I sat there by myself, I found myself reflecting on family, memories, and the passage of time. Sometimes a restaurant becomes more than a place to eat. Sometimes it becomes part of your story. Waitress did tell us to cut into the steaks before walking away, but I did not cut directly down the center. Which I should have. So that's on me. But the size of the restaurant is a big downfall, and the prices are $$$$. You're gonna be spending at least $175 for two people if you go the steak route.

The city has acquired the property, and the Lumberjacks era is coming to an end. Which is unfortunate because if I had a boat and an eye patch, I'd probably be permanently docked here by now. I'd have a raspberry tea in one hand, a beer in the other, and absolutely no idea where my boat came from. Great food. Great waterfront patio. Reasonable prices. Good music. Good drinks. And apparently a limited-time offer because the city is taking over. If you haven't been, go before the season ends.
