Fantastic! I'm not really a dessert person and usually not a fan of the doughnut hype. This place was amazing. They weren't dense, nice light and fluffy. The toppings are so good! I love that they have some that you can choose from and you can also customize your own. I'm so glad it's not too close to home, I'd probably eat here every day. Staff was so nice and helpful. Not usually a fan of leaving reviews for places that miss expectations but I felt that this place is hyped up alot. I swung by to get some donuts desserts for a family dinner around 6pm on a Saturday. The place was very quiet and the staff was cleaning up for the day. We were worried that we were one of those annoying people that goes at 5min before closing. However, it was still 1 hr before they closed. Thank goodness we are one of "those" but we felt like we were. Anyways, they were really nice and they had all the donuts in stock. Great! We ordered 2 Boston creme, 2 churros, 1 French toast, 1 chocolate cookie, 1 chocolate strawberry cheesecake, 1 smore, 1 samoas, 1 maple bacon, 1 apple crumb, and 1 lemon coconut for aost $40. It smelled really good as we happily left the store. When we started eat it, it all changed. Let's say that the whipped cream was my favorite thing on the donuts. The donuts were dense like cake. It was dense and dry. It needed a lot of help from the toppings. Okay, maybe the toppings can redeem it. Nope, I could even take 1/8 of each. (We cut it to allow everyone to try a bite of each flavor). Even the kids weren't impressive. I believe if the donut itself can be improved, this place would be decent. I don't think they lasted more that 5 mins in the house once I took one bite. I bought 2 of them for my boyfriend and I took a bite of his too I couldn't resist. I they all were so so so good. Stopped by to bring a dozen to my friend's house. These Donuts are expensive, on the small size, but really delicious. The maple bacon was a huge hit with the adults. I ordered 12 donuts and picked different flavors from the options that they had. I had very high hopes based off of the reviews, but the donuts didn't quite meet my expectations. Really wasn't expecting Doughology to live up to the hype considering how high the hype is, but it completely and totally exceeded it. We had seven donuts - the star of the show was obviously the rainbow cookie, but the cinnamon bun, Oreo, and s'mores were also up there with our favorites. Dough*ology(n)- the science of creating the perfect donut. Somebody definitely passed science with honors because they have mastered the "ology" of the Dough. A cute shop with a nice staff that manages to crank out some sinful yet mouthwatering delights. When we arrived a relative short line in comparison to what I have read in reviews. New to this particular donut scene I was able to watch the action, ask some questions and see the donuts freshly made while I waited. The line moved pretty quickly and in faster when some first responders got a call and had to abandon their spots, always thankful for their service. On to the donuts.... you can build your own creation by choosing a donut, a dip and 3 toppings or you can choose from the 16 specialty donuts on the board. If you are easily overwhelmed or stimulated I would suggest choosing from the board it makes the decision process a little easier and you get to taste a good example of what they can create. A single is $2.25 but who ever just orders one especially of you don't live in the area so grab a 1/2 dozen @ $11 or a dozen @ $12. You will be happy who did even if your scale is not. I enjoyed the Chocolate Oreo and the Thin mint (Girl Scout) my two besties the Apple Strudel, Crumb cake & French Toast. Finally another bookmarked crossed of the list. I have heard about Doughology forever. I think I tried their donuts at a party once, but it it wasn't enough for a review. I stopped by their Lynbrook location when I needed to bring a last minute dessert for a small get together. Parking was easy (although under normal circumstances, I know it usually isn't). There were 2 people sitting down to eat and no one was waiting to order. I got a dozen, but it was still quite difficult to make decisions! They had all of their 16 'regulars'. I didn't realize the rainbow one was such a hot commodity and only available on Sundays, but noted. A dozen is $24, which I think is very reasonable given the quality and care that goes into making these. The girl taking my order informed me it would be a couple of minutes because the chocolate doughnuts were about to be finished. A few minutes later, someone (owner or manager?) came out with a small container with small, extremely fresh chocolate doughnuts for us to taste. They were unreal. The wait wasn't bad, but this was an extremely nice touch. My boyfriend was SO excited about it, which was funny because I've literally never seen him care about dessert. So..cheers to Doughology. Staff was extremely nice and I felt safe during COVID. A few hours later, I had half of a churro doughnut, half or the peanut butter cup doughnut, and a bite of the fruity pebbles. I like the flavor of the fruity pebbles doughnut, but the cereal gets slightly stale after a few hours. The peanut butter cup is AMAZING. It is chocolatey-peanut buttery deliciousness. It's very rich so it might not be for everyone. I should also mention that I normally am not a fan of chocolate doughnuts/cakes, but their chocolate doughnut is incredible. The churro doughnut was really good as well. The whip cream tastes light and fresh and the doughnut is more of a cake doughnut with cinnamon. Writing this review, I realize I should have eaten more (for the sake of yelp!), but I have a feeling I will be back here very shortly. read more

I gotta be honest with ya, I'm not a big donut gal. However these donuts looked so good I had to do it. Came in on a Sunday w a tip that they only make rainbow donuts then. While I was waiting in line to get these puppies I saw the lady behind the counter making the rainbow donuts. YESSSS score! We got everything from Churros , snickers, chocolate nutella crunch, Samoa, peanut butter cup, Smores, chocolate Oreo, and lastly the rainbow cookie donut. Oh my goodness once we got to our car we scarfed down some of these. They are so good, yet so fattening. I'm not gonna lie, I gained 2lbs from these donuts. Was it worth it ? YES... maybe ? These are dense, cakey donuts. Very decadent, very good. My personal preference are yeast donuts but these are certainly delicious and they have lots of inventive, unique flavors. My favorite was by far the rainbow cookie but call ahead for those and the other donut specials (which can be found on their Facebook page) because they go fast. Also the lady ahead of you may buy 4 dozen rainbow cookie donuts and wipe them out of the only donut you drove over an hour to try. I was very salty that day in a house full of sweet confections ;) Anywho, back to the cakey donut-ey goodness. The donuts are topped or filled fresh when you order them so they don't sit around for hours and getting sogified. As others have said there's some seating like a comfy couch and tables. Today is the day I've been waiting for, for well over a year, maybe years as my deprived soul has no real track of time. Today, November 5th, 2017; my pleas were heard. It all started when Doughology first opened & news spread that they would be making a rainbow cookie donut. This soon sparked a frenzy amongst my social circle in hopes to sink our teeth into one of my all time favorite childhood hopes & dreams come true. Reminiscent of my grandmother bringing me boxes of rainbow cookies on the weekends when she'd visit, I was crushed as I never was able to make it to Lynbrook. They always ran out of donuts, they were quite far & I never really knew when & if they'd ever be available. Mind you, Doughology always has other great creations and the cannoli donut sounds like quite another drop of heaven, but a rainbow cookie holds not just a bit of sentimental value to me, it's also sort of my kryptonite. So, on this day, the lynbrook shop, unbeknownst to me had been taking orders for half dozens of you guessed it, rainbow cookie donuts. The orders went out and over the weekend they got to their baking- What's so special about this you ask? Well, this time they were set to do a "donut drop" here in Sayville, just a few towns over from me. I heard through a buddy about this on Saturday, when I looked it up I found information that orders had ceased being taken Friday night and I was all but out of hope. My childhood is obviously gone, it now seemed like it was further than it had ever been & I'd never get a glimpse of that joy again. I decided on this rainy Sunday morning to take a shot, my buddy wasn't answering the phone, everyone was just talking about getting wings for some football Sunday bar special, and my heart was slowly melting, pooling at the bottom of my stomach, screaming for a donut made in vein of the all mighty rainbow cookie. I strapped on my doomsday gear (a yankee hat, hiking boots, & a sleek new weatherproof jacket thing) & bumbled my way to the car. I later found myself in a field. As I sat under the raindrops mimicking my crushed soul, I realized this was the moment I've been waiting for. No rain was going to stop me & maybe luck was going to be on my side; maybe they'd have a few extra. Surrounded by an army of windshield wipers & fog lights, I took my first step into the grass. Much like Neil Armstrong I felt almost weightless & hopeful, I planted my second step & a cloud of worry and doubt rushed over me. I was going on a momentous voyage to plant my flag & request any extra donuts that may have made their way east. This may be one small step for Doug but it was one giant leap for the doughy kind. I spoke to a lovely woman who was here before the van of donuts. See, there was a bit of traffic and I'd have to wait even longer to see how the situation would unfold. People were lining up, all with preorders & confirmations that they were leaving with donuts and here I stand, one man, on a foreign planet, floating in space with total uncertainty of my fate. Another couple flew in asking if there'd be extra; whatever they were told swayed them, they drifted on & left the landing site; A small victory in hopefulness, I now stand as possibly the sole beneficiary to a fortune of confection. Once the suburban SUV bombarded with boxes of baked goods had arrived, it might as well have been an armored truck giving out bags of federally insured money. It was a long & arduous task just sitting, waiting, watching as the crowd swarmed the line like millions of marching ants. Every rain drop like a tick of the second hand. Doughology delivery details had mentioned they'd be there from 12 to 1 doling out the orders. An hour had passed, it was a little after 1 & the crowds were giving way. My cries for crumbs were about to be acknowledged... would they be answered? Out from the fog walked an angel. She was holding a bakers box, I had spoken to this women earlier who confidently stated if there were extras left that I would get them. I would be the luckiest, most grateful guy this side of Suffolk County. I graciously thanked her, opened my palms & basked in the glory of now being the last guy on the field with a box full of rainbow motherf*ck*ng cookie donuts! I was too afraid to open the box. I was trying to remain cool, you know, calm, collected, all that adult Bullsh*t that we for some reason develop to ruin our happiness. I couldn't make it through the first streetlight before opening it as I would a golden pizza pie... Angels sang my friend, the heavens parted, the rain was a thing of the past & I was sailing through sunbeams and rainbows!! Rainbow cookies were the raindrops & I was bathing in the pots of gold. This place is not only clean but the staff inside was amazing. Even though there are pictures explaining the food and what is offered the lady who was there when I brought a lot of Doughnuts she was so helpful and cheerful. I have nothing negative to say. Its sort of an antique coffee shop. They have nice flavored coffee options and of course they have amazing choices for donuts. Specialty donuts come at a different rate than traditional donuts you are also able to dip and design and have various donut options. The thing I like the most is that you're allowed to get any donut that's original or specialty in a certain amount for a decent price especially since it's specialty donut. They also have cake pops and they do have munchkins of their own. I had a cappuccino which was nice but there's a sign that shows their specialty coffee's as well and I wish I had tried nutella next time. There wasn't anything too special about the customer service besides them being friendly and normal. The place is pretty tidy for the most part in clean and and the furniture is like antique. It honesty reminds me of The Friends coffee shop. If you decide to get plain coffee they also have a creamer fridge so you can find any types of milk that you need to adjust your coffee. read more
