Couldn't have had a better experience for my son's first haircut! We walked in on a Saturday morning and did not expect him to have time, but Cisco was very welcoming, and was able to take our 2 year old son within the hour of us walking up. He was friendly, sociable, and made us all feel welcome. My husband has come here in the past, and his grandfather went to the original Danny, so it was wonderful having our son's first haircut here. Cisco is a wonderful new owner of the place, and we look forward to having him do many haircuts to come! read more

7/28/20 Update - Danny's is open with an awesome outside setup! Very clean and very conscious of protocols. Great shade, great tunes and the best cuts around (at a heck of a great deal). It's nice to see businesses adapt to overcome during times of adversity. Walk-ins are welcome but always best to make an appointment for sake of ease! read more

Sign out front "Walk-In's Welcome"! This is now the third time in the past 9 months I've attempted to get my hair cut at Danny's and was turned away. Twice by Stacey and once from one of the guys because they were booked with appointments... all the while during my attempt to get a haircut on 06/08/21 Stacey was standing next to her empty chair with no client in sight. Great! If you're fully booked with appointments, lose the "Walk-In's Welcome" sign! Reading the other Yelp reviews it seems to be a common theme with this establishment. read more

I've been going to Danny's for a about 3 years now and have had great cuts from all the barbers. The past few years I've been going to Alfonso regularly. He is a super nice guy and always does an incredible job. He always remembers how I like my cut and even knows better than me sometimes so I'm happy to take his suggestions and he'll usually trim my beard up for free when in need. i am a Santa Barbara resident.I have been going to Danny's barber shop on and off for over 45 years. On my next birthday I will be 98 years old, so I know that at Danny's they know who I am. They advertise mens hair cuts for $19.00.I went in the last part of august 2016.Since I don't have much hair left, I asked for a trim back only. When the Barber got through he said that will be $21.00 I knew it should have been $19.00. But I bit my tongue and decided never to go back.I hope the barber enjoyed the extra $2.00 Art read more

Fast and friendly....but..... I had my hair cut by the owner and he seemed distracted and did not take any instruction. It was as if he was on another planet and was trimming someone else' s hair. I've been living in the Goleta/ Santa Barbara area for three years while attending UCSB. My first year here I would go to The "Goodland Barbershop" because it was close, that barbershop would almost always have 1.5-2hr wait and one three occasions the barber only trimmed one of my sideburns because he was so distracted with the T.V. and talking with other people. And then a friend recommended Danny's and I'm very glad I found out about this barbershop. This is now my go to place and I always get my hair cut by Alfonso and he always does a good job and I find it easy to communicate and let him know exactly what I want. I'm not into sports and not very talkative so he talks about other general stuff and focuses on my hair, a very nice guy! Even when I go home for the summer and don't get a hair cut for 4 months he still remembers my exact cut when I return. I also really like that you can call in and make an appointment for free, "The Goodland Barbershop" would charge an extra $10, all that money for poor service! I use to go here for years when I was a kid and in high school. Came by with my son to get his hair cut. All chairs were full and we were the only ones waiting. After a 25 min wait two others were waiting and two chairs opened up at which point I was told I would have two wait another 20 min due They both had appointments. I told them they should have advised me of the time line before I spent 25 min on a Saturday waiting. Went to Arturo's and they got us in right away. Walked in and nobody said hello. I sat for about 15 minutes for a chair to open up. Another person walked in a few minutes before "my" chair opened up. The person who walked in after I walked in was helped before me. I was told that person was a regular and they help "regulars" first! Don't waste your time. Of all the years I gotten haircuts in Santa Barbara and Goleta, I never felt unwelcome and discriminated upon until I came to Danny's place. Unless you are an established customer with an appointment, barbers (1 and 2) will not cut your hair, even when their chairs are empty. I had to wait over 1.5 hours until barber 3 had finished with all his scheduled customers. If their established customers came in way after me, barbers (1 and 2) would gladly cut their hair without hesitation. Barber 1 would give me an excuse that he was waiting for his scheduled customers and Barber 2 would say he has a splitting headache. I would not recommend this place and will never come back here for a haircut! This is the worst place in town! read more

I wanted to get a quick buzz and shave today so I thought I'd give Danny's a try. I didn't wait long as barber number one put the cutting cape over me. I asked him for a 3 all the way around and a shave. (Barber one) although friendly and pleasant, smelled of freshly smoked cigarettes. Half way through my buzz a frequent client of barber one walked in and took a seat. It only took a second for the barber to pawn my shave off to a colleague who was busy with his own customer. Barber one finished up with my buzz and off I go, back to the waiting bench. It took 15 minutes or so to get back in a chair with (barber two} this is where it gets interesting. Barber two got me prepped and took his dull clippers and started to rake my face, tearing the scruff from my skin! I'm not a hairy person and my facial hair would never warrant a "hiding" from a set of cheap clippers. Now that my face is rashed to hell and my skin hurts and itches from God knows what was on the nasty clippers. He then begins to aggressively rub my freshly ground down face with hot lather, thinking this would somehow feel pleasant. At this point I tell him to take it easy on the facial scrub because it HURTS! He then put a hot rag on my face. I try and get over the uncomfortable feeling but it becomes difficult to hold back my anger. This man not only ripped the hair off my face with dirty clippers, he rubbed my face after handling dirty money (since he was the only person out of 4 barbers) working the register. This means if you're the lucky one that sits in his chair, you can count on him to stop every few minutes to get change for people and not wash his hands each time. I finally say enough and tell him I can't take it anymore. He casually charges me $12 for the buzz and an additional $5 for his horrible skills as a Barber. I've had many shaves in numerous cities and that was mind numbing! I'm not sure if Danny knows how to shave or cut hair but His Barbers should learn from people that appreciate good hygiene, like what they do for a living and have experienced a proper shave. read more

I usually would Get my hair cuts at like fantastic sams or super cuts when I was younger. Ever since I first came into Danny's I will never go back to those chain hair cut places. Alphonso is my guy. When I first came in he was enthusiastic and he makes you feel welcomed. Talks sports. All the guys here do. Such a relaxing experience getting my hair cut here. My advice is to make an appointment because they get busy around. Which is a good thing because it shows how many people keep coming back. read more
