This barber shop is very busy! They do not do walk-ins, you must make an appointment! My friend and I are probably the only girls that come here but, it is still very welcoming! On a whim, while back in town I decided to stop in and get a haircut. They had an open chair within a few minutes I was well on my way to looking great. These guys are old school pros when it comes to haircutting, styling and shaves. For 21 dollars+tip I got one of the best haircuts in 41 years. They dress to the 9s and wear dress shirts, ties and polished shoes. The place and atmosphere bespeaks professionalism, calm and confidence. This is like Matt Sanchez, Frank Berta and Arturo's used to cut hair, not some beauty school rejects or teeny boppers tooling around making chit chat while getting hair down the back if your neck...and you have to go home and re do it with your own clippers. I can't speak highly enough about this shop, you owe it to yourself to get your hair done here. I got a haircut, and my gf son got his haircut+we purchased a hat too. First time there- Honestly, didn't like the haircut. The barber was nice, I explained him exactly what I want and he just cut it like he just want to be done. Too short. Cut the sides way too much and higher then my hair line, after I explained him not to. And when I asked him to dry my hair before I leave, he just got the hair dryer for 15 seconds - my hair was still wet. Overall the guy has no sense of styling. First time ever here at SB Barbers. No appointment/walk-in, was greeted by one of the barbers, and was told I was next. Customers all seemed happy (young, old, and everyone in between) and everyone seemed to know each other. After around 5 minutes, I sat down and Joey (Fontaine) asked me a few questions on what I wanted, how long, what setting on the clippers i typically used, etc. Joey was detail-oriented, easy-going, and fast. Gave a great fade, took the bulk out of my hair (it doesn't grow long, it grows *out*), and even gave me local beach suggestions. I'm not a local but would definitely come back again, no doubt. It's a very laid back atmosphere at SB barbers. Good music playing, barbers/clients cracking jokes and everyone is respectful. How a barber shop should be. Pako is a true master of his craft. It was the best shave I have ever gotten (disclaimer, only my third straight razor shave). All of the guys were super friendly and let my friends hang around while I got a shave--even though we were Broncos fans (they were all Raiders fans, the Broncos biggest rival). I personally always go with Chris however the other barbers are more than adequate and give you a great cut for a decent price. They tend to get very busy especially during later afternoons,so making an appointments is advised. They do accept walk-ins whenever they can however. After waiting nearly an hour I asked one of the barbers if this place was 'appointment only' and he said that I could make a walk-in appointment. This would've been awesome to know when I first came in so I could have made an appointment before waiting an hour. I got a worse haircut than I would have gotten from the Supercuts down the road, and this one cost me $21 before tip. My bangs are an inch shorter than I requested, the crown is too short so now I have a rooster-tail, it took 45 minutes so it wasn't quick, and my barber dropped the scissors on me and snagged my ear with the clippers hard once. I came in to get a cut as I was needing one for a bit now. I had an older African American man cut my hair and I told him how I like my hair and what style I wanted to do with it. He obviously did not listen because he just did whatever he wanted. I ended up with a lot shorter hair than I wanted with a line up which I did not want at all. The whole time he was either on his phone or going to talk to someone else. Thats what pretty much what the other barbers were doing as well. I can tell they just pump people in and out. To them you're just a fade and thats it. I went to another barber a few weeks later to fix the damage this place had done. I would NOT recommend this place to my friend and will certainly not be going back anytime soon. read more

Went here because a friend told me it had just opened up and her friend worked there. Made an appointment to see Jorge (Rico) and he was very punctual except that he was really popular and one of his earlier appointments came in late... Typical start, asked me what I wanted, I told him what I usually get but that I was open to improvements. He ended up maintaining the 3 on the sides I get but added a little more to the top (I usually do fingertip-length) and added some gel to add the slight slick back effect on my bangs. And they also do eyebrows really well if you're just looking to clean them up--no threading or anything. It looked so good I could hear the panties dropping ;) Atmosphere was pretty chill and comfortable with great lighting unlike some other places, and the guys inside are very professional, well-dressed, and even offer you a complimentary beer. The place is right in the middle of downtown so you can strut your stuff soon as you walk out or get some food across the street. For $21+tip you definitely feel like you get more than your money's worth. I've been to places that charge much more than this but still leave you feeling unsatisfied when you walk out. Like Joanathan L. said, you owe it to yourself to get your hair cut here. Definitely one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten and I'll be going back for more great cuts in the future. read more

I have my hair like a comb over (longer on top, short on sides) and he went to far up and ended up shaving off the tips of my hair at the top. Now the top of my hair is uneven, the left side is long while the right side is I proportional.
