Been going to Uptown since 2016. I've seen many of their barbers come and go but even still they've all been phenomenal. However, I don't get my haircut often, maybe once every 6-10 months, but every time I come in it seems the price has gone up. Starting at around $25 back in the day to now $40, it's getting a little difficult to justify the price. I get raising your price if people pay it, but I can't see myself coming back if they continue raising them. read more

The barber was on personal phone call with his car insurance company. He told my son to wait because this was an important phone call. I admit that for many years I went to the discount chain haircut spots. While I enjoyed the prices and avoiding the overly talkative old men at traditional barber shops, I did have to play Russian Roulette with whatever "stylist" I received, until I had one especially terrible experience that forced me to re-think my approach. Enter The Uptown Barber Shop. The minute you walk in, you know you came to the right place. The barbers are all relatively young, relaxed in their demeanor, and committed to their work and making sure you get the cut you deserve. All of them pay close attention to detail, use high quality products, and obviously enjoy working together. The shop itself has stylish floors and a fun decor (though I'd probably take a bit more of a less-is-more approach to the nic-nacs, though I'm far from a style icon myself). My go-to guy is Raul and he does an awesome job, but I don't think you can go wrong. Cuts are $30, which is only a bit more than the chains, but I come out of there every time feeling like I got my money's worth. read more

My son had gotten a horendous (this is even an understatement) haircut at 5pm on a Saturday at another salon. He was in tears and beyond embarrassed to go out in public. We went to two other salons after this to see if someone could try to fix this but everyone was wrapping up for the day. Our last stop was at Uptown Barber Shop at 5:45, fifteen minutes before closing. Tony Alvarado greeted us and let us know they were about to close, but seeing my son's hair, they felt for him and decided to stay late to help him. Tony let us know he wasn't sure he could fix it but that he would do his best to make it look a little better. Tony did more than make it look a little better, he completely transformed the haircut and my son left with the biggest smile on his face, feeling very confident and cool in his new due. Robert is the worst barber i ever seen, i made an appointment for my 2 kids, show up on time , he was already behind since it took 25 min to start with the first one. It took way to long so he asked me if i can cancel the 2nd kid because his next appointment was there already, no my fault:( of hes lack of skills. I said no so he started my second son and after 5 min he was done saying the kid moved to much but he changed me full hair cut , and he don't even cut a fucking hair. Good thing that I talked to Erick who offered nicely to take care of my kid , and after 20 min my son got a haircut and Erick did have any issues with him moving. However, I usually get my haircut by Raul who is great. The whole crew is friendly, professional, prompt, and most important - masters of their craft.
