My husband had a 10:15 appointment today with ITO and after a few minutes my husband called me in a shock and described an incident that happened. He sat down on the chair and foot pedal dropped, ITO pushed him. My husband got scared and left. Hate crime/ racism/ mental illness ? Probably? this is Piyush Sisodia- since I was present at the appointment and YOU were NOT there either so ALSO don't have the context of the scenario. Ask the lady who was helping another customer. ITO S.. was not polite.. in fact I text 15 min early at 10:00 AM to check if I m running late by 10 min late is it ok for me to come in or reschedule.. there was no response. I can provide you screen shots. I'm not a kind of person who would intentionally try to ruin someone's business reputation. He Did not introduce himself.. I Infact had to approach him and ask.. if he was my provider..NO Response.. Im not sitting on a BARBER CHAIR for the 1st time. if the equipment is broken.. be cautious and courteous to let me know. I stepped on it accidentally.. and he did physically shove me off chair. and was very rude when I said what was that for. If you guys seriously take things seriously and want to investigate into this.. check if you have cameras? If not atleast make sure this guy doesn't this to anyone else. I was in town from Boston for a wedding in August. I walked by the shop a few times while exploring and remembered I had never had a professional beard trim/fade. The shop was cool so I figured why not and decided to go for it. Walked in and booked Nina, who did an amazing job! I wished I lived in this area, I'd go here once a month. Nina gave me the best haircut and shave I've had in years. It's a family business and I truly hope she carries on the family business. I did a quick internet search of barbers in the Santa Barbara area and this one looked very interesting with the antique chairs and overall vintage vibe. Plus, it was located near where I was going to run errands on lower State Street. They were able to give me a same day reservation at the time I wanted. Sean D. gave me a fantastic haircut. I really enjoy the vibe of the Barber Shop. Cool ambiance, great music, and chill attitude from all the crew there. I've got to give a huge shoutout to Peter who cut my hair a few weeks ago, by quoting the response I got from my girlfriend when she saw me right after: "this is the best haircut you've ever gotten." I don't like having to overthink how to do my hair, and always hoped I would find a stylist who could implicitly understand what my huge head would need to pull off a cool, naturally-comfortable style that would be easy for me to maintain yet convey a bit more personality. Peter seemed to understand what was important to me immediately, as well as what direction he would take things to step it up a notch, and I was extremely pleased he delivered on that confidence. It looked awesome from the moment I left the chair, and continues to look great as it grows out. Furthermore, he also gave the most pain-free straight-razor shave I've had at any barbershop or salon. I have thick neck hair that seems to grow in chaotic directions, and despite the varying levels of agony I've experienced in the past, I've always asked for a shave whenever I'm trying a new stylist that offers that option to see if I could ever experience what those classy dudes in old movies got to enjoy, without feeling like I'm being Sweeny-Todded. Booked online via their website and Nina was amazing. Great vibe, great stylist, and seems like an all around great person. I went there and got a brilliant haircut from a lady who works there on Sundays. She gave me bangs, cut off the split hairs, and was nice and professional the entire time. When I asked for bangs, she asked what thickness I wanted. She always checked in to make sure the amount of hair she was cutting off was an okay amount for me. She gave some recommendations and I'm glad I took them. She was a kind and engaging conversationalist to boot! I cannot recommend her enough. She's great. read more

I'm sure my experience was a one time thing. Since it's grown out a bit, my hair hasn't looked as bad on top. I want to emphasize how great the fade was!! Still looks great. Unfortunately, I received the worst haircut of my life, and it cost me a whopping $50... I'm in Santa Barbara for the Holidays and was in desperate need of a cleanup. The Barber Shop was the closest equivalent to the place I go at home (Temescal Alley Barbershop in Oakland). The vibe of the shop was very cool and the barber who cut my hair was very nice and friendly. However, neither of those made up for this haircut. I had been growing out my hair from a buzz for 4 months. I was trying to keep it long on top while getting a low fade on the sides. I showed the barber a photo of a haircut I was looking for(attached). I also added that I wasn't looking to take much off the top. I knew the price of the haircut going in and thought the price indicated that they knew what they were doing. I received nothing that looked like the photo and I got the exact opposite of what I asked. The barber took a lot off the top. The top is also uneven in different parts. Some parts are medium length and some parts are short as can be. During the entire haircut, I was turned away from the mirror, so I couldn't see what was going on. I've attached a photo of the haircut I got... I was totally butchered. Why is there a chunk in the front that is cut to the scalp and totally uneven from the rest of the front. I comb my hair over, so it won't be as noticeable but even then there is a gap that is pretty distinguished. I also barely have any hair to comb over... I will say the fade is very nicely done, but the top of the hair is what is most important in a haircut. I wish I was exaggerating when I say it's the worst haircut of my life, but I'm not.
