When we visited, they were only having carry-outs or ordering from your vehicle; it was a rainy day, and you'd just had to 'honk' to grab someone's attention and they'll come out to meet you to take your order, get your payment, and then bring your ordered items back out to you. We ordered: +the Arezzio Italian Hot Sausage, which came with onions, garden peppers, and deli mustard in a sub roll, with a side of potato salad and a dill pickle +a Gwaltney regular with chili and onions +a side of onion rings The food was just okay; they did come piping hot, wrapped well, and included napkins. I wasn't really a fan of their version of the chili, as it was more on the bland side. The hot sausage wasn't as spicy as we thought, and the sub roll could have either been steamed or toasted, as ours was dry. You have this cart outside of "Howling at the moon," on Georgia. I try to make it down there at the very least once a month, sometimes twice. There's this little short lady you got slinging dog's, bratwurst, and something called walking tacos. I can tell you that this little lady is quite a delight, and the food is on point for a night out on the town. I've heard of Frito pie, but never Dorito walking taco. Danny was a Greek gentleman and proprietor of the restaurant. The chili sauce is his recipe and it's absolutely the BEST you will ever taste!! The current owners have had Danny's since the mid-90s. They bought the original chili recipe and are serving it up still today. The delicious chili takes 7 hours to cook up! The menu has grown over the years, but I am a diehard for the chili dogs! Such a great mom and pop shop! It feels a little like I imagine "Cheers" to be where everybody knows your name (now I am really dating myself?! Ah). They only do pickup and order at your car (they actually come out to you and menu is on back of building where you park). The staff are super friendly, they are very fast, and the food was good. My mother and my Aunt would go to Danny's at least once a week and started taking me when I was 6 months old (in 1967) and feeding me the chili from the hotdogs. I grew up eating Danny's footings "all the way" until my mid 20s when I moved away from Va. Beach for college and then my career. Needless to say, whenever I am back home in Va. Beach, this is a must stop a couple of times for two foot-longs "all the way" each time. I wish knew rhe recipe so I could make them at "home"' here in Tennessee! It brings back the wonderful memories of my mom and my Aunt who have since passed away. Cute little drive-in with very minimal dine-in room as it is designed mostly for curve hop. Pull up,beep your horn & dine in your car or sit down inside. A classic local tradition, their hot dogs are above all others with Danny's secret chili recipe. I love to add cole slaw to mine. Their cole slaw is the best I've had in Hampton Roads. I'm very pick about cole slaw and in general don't like most I try but Danny's is top notch! They have a full menu from breakfast to dinner. So, while I was driving, I saw this place off Kempsville road called, "Danny's World Of Hot Dogs and Deli." It's a small hole in the wall. I mean really small. But, with chili that took seven hours to stew up and prepare, I believe I tried the best hotdog in Virginia Beach. Not bland, chilli with nice ground beef texture, a beefy hot dog, and coleslaw to sweeten the deal. I ordered the Sebrett Beef Footlong. The hotdog was so good that I have to order the 1/2 lb Danny Burger with egg. Melted cheese, tasty beef, huge slice of tomato, ketchup, and a large egg result into a combined mountain of deliciousness. This burger's flavor flies higher than Red Robin. read more

I give it a 2 for pricing and quality. The food is good. I like eating their for flavor and the staff is nice. The portions for the price is what will prevent me from going back. They obviously can keep their minimal hours secondary to small portions at high prices. Their wraps and sanwhiches are all kid size portions at other restraunts at premium cost. A breakfast wrap is 1 egg, a slice and a 1/2 of bacon, minimal cheese and sauce for $9 and some change. The same size wrap that is $1.59 at Taco Bell. An order of onion rings is $4.95 and we recieved 5 onion rings. When I called i was told it was based on weight, then told "God Bless You" for my concern. Really?? Is that how a family business feels and treats a hard working paying customer? It saddens me to see anyone feels this is acceptable. As a kid, my father worked just down the street from here, and when I would go to work with him, we would stop here on the way home. I loved them. In 1991, I moved out of the area, and didn't go back for more than 10 years, and they were just as good now as they were then. Now, whenever we visit, no matter where we are, we make it a point to stop by at least once. The Dogs, Chili and Burgers are just plain good roadside dive food. Potato salad was really good! Had bits of hard broiled egg in it which I really loved. Boyfriend got the Cheeseburger Sub was was enormous. He really enjoyed it. He also got a side of chili cheese fries, the fries and the cheese were really good, but the chili was odd; sweet tasting, sort of a pumpkin-y consistency and flavor.
