    Beef hotdog with mustard
    Joey M.

Three stars for fast and friendly service. All I can say is that I had a hot dog and fries to go. Was in the mood for a hot dog so I stopped at this local spot on Tidewater Dr. The first thing I noticed was their "cash only" sign, then I noticed their sign stating that you cannot use their restroom. Ok, thank you for the heads up. Most if the seating was blocked off, so the seating was limited to two tables right next to the door. Ordered a beef hotdog, fries and an unsweet tea. I have to say that the tea was my favorite part of the meal. The hotdog was ridiculously salty, could barley eat it. I did like the fries, but there weren't enough that were a bit crunchy. Almost forgot to mention that they also serve breakfast. I'll post pictures of the menu. The food is very reasonably priced. I will say that the lady who took my order and the one who rang me up were very friendly. I won't be back for the food, but I do recommend you check it out. Who knows, you might like it.

    Hotdog with all the fixings.

This is a place that I have a history with. One of those spots my people used to take me to when I was a little girl. Mind yourselves, this place only takes cash, so come prepared. Very homey and welcoming environment when you walk in, like a small town diner without the booths. They aren't selfish with their drinks or food and the prices are reasonable. The hot dog was good, but the chili left much to be desired flavor wise. The double cheese burger was decent, nice and juicy (I might add more tomatoes next time). The only complaint I have about the burger is that it wasn't seasoned, but that bun was toasted and the cheese was melted just right which made up for it. All in all this experience gets a 8/10.

Large combo .. 2 dogs and fries with a drink to wash them down!

I had my first visit to Lindy's today to observe National Hot Dog Day. The reviews looked good and although they weren't offering any specials deals, the regular price was easily as low as I would have spent to eat in my car at a certain fast food drive-in. The dogs were really good! Not large but all beef with that satisfying little snap to the skin when you bite in. I got the large combo with 2 dogs, fries and a drink for $7.95. The dogs come standard with some good chili, mustard and onions. They are a cash only business so be prepared but you don't need a lot of it! * There is more than dogs on the menu. They serve breakfast fare and burgers and sandwiches as well.

the food is very good and nostalgic. it reminds you of those family cook outs during the summer. The service is immaculate. They are friendly and kind with a sense of humor. The place itself is very decorative and you can tell they like football.10/10 i definitely recommend.

Forget eating cheeseburgers anywhere other than here at Lindy's Famous Hotdogs. They have the best crinkle cut fries in the world.

Best food in town! This place serves the best tasting cheeseburger I have ever eaten! The fries are right on point and we love driving from Virginia Beach to eat here. I love their food and the breakfast is delicious too!!

They are still serving good food fast. The service is also friendly. No need to say what's already been said. Come for breakfast or lunch but they close by 5. They only accept ca$h.

Sorry I ate the other half:)

I like it. I've been going here for years. And they are consistent. Lil "hole in the wall" type of spot. U can get comfortable. And the staff makes u want to come back. As a burger lover one of my favs. Haven't tried anything else on the menu though

    Basic hot dog combo.

It has been nearly three weeks; I can stop thinking about No Frill Bar and Grill…read more I'm a military spouse, so I know my time in Hampton Roads is coming to an end soon. I visited a Hampton Roads Restaurant group on FB and asked if someone was visiting from out of town: What is your go-to place to take them? Out of 90+ comments, No Frill Bar and Grill was mentioned the most - six times! So when I finally had a day off and some other business to tend to in Norfolk, it was the perfect excuse to finally try them. No Frill Bar and Grill has been open for nearly 30 years by Jerry Meltsner. Jerry's nephew Jon Kliner helps co-own and manage operations. It originally opened on Tidewater Drive, but the space didn't allow for much growth - 10 years later, he moved to a location off Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue. Growth continued, moving from counter service to table service. The second location, at 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, opened in 2005. The restaurant's longevity stems from quality, consistency, price, service, and staff who genuinely care about the business and serving the community. I asked the server for her opinion on two options - Salmon, Shrimp and grits won. The dish was incredible: lightly blackened salmon, for once blackened food that doesn't just taste like salt. I don't dine with the swine, so I asked for no andouille sausage. The sautéed shrimp, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and spinach simmered in Norfolk Canyon ale sauce over cheesy grits and Boursin lavash cracker. The cheesy grits were smooth, and the Boursin lavash cracker was a nice touch. The Boursin added extra creaminess to the meal. The cracker wasn't really a cracker - more like little toasted bread. After this first meal, I know two things for sure: 1. I definitely understand why it is such a local favorite, and 2. I will be back.

Want to go back and try more of their delicious food! It's not overly large inside so coming at an off time (right at 4) we were able to get a seat but I bet it can get busy! They do have outside dining so if it's not too hot or cold there is that option!

The restaurant was fairly empty, with only three other tables occupied, so we were surprised by the length of the wait. Our two canned Sapporos didn't arrive until about 30 minutes after ordering. The shrimp sandwich took approximately 45 minutes, and the Vang rolls arrived after about an hour. After waiting an hour, we were informed that the garlic shrimp for our garlic noodles was unavailable, despite it being part of our original order. Unfortunately, the Vang rolls were so salty that we couldn't finish them. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were never refilled, and there was little communication about the delays or unavailable menu items. After roughly 90 minutes of waiting, multiple delays, and learning that several items were unavailable, we decided to pay for what we had received the two Sapporos, the shrimp sandwich, and the Vang rolls, which came to about $70. Perhaps we visited on an off night, but the combination of the slow service, poor communication, unavailable menu items, and disappointing food quality made for a frustrating experience. Based on this visit, I don't see myself returning. +1 Vibe +0 Taste +0 Presentation +0 Service +0 Value

The place inside is very cute and reminds me of a nice punk pop bar. The bar wraps around and there's some tables and a side table that we sat at to eat. I ordered one of their specialty coffees and it is quite the journey but I enjoyed it with the ginger beer and the coffee. My quiche was fluffy and delicious. It jiggled when I tapped it and the side salad tasted great with dill in it and it brightened up things. The combination of both was great. The crust on the quiche was nice as well. My spouse enjoyed their sandwich but didn't realize there was mustard so he ended up just using the chips to eat his egg and sausage. His egg was also fluffy. The patrons that came seemed friendly and you can tell who are locals since they greeted by name often. I love that this place is open. They also have local wine you can purchase. I was told they are known for their she crab soup, and now, i see why! It was so good. There was plenty of crab meat in the soup as well. I do wish when it came to deserts that they had a menu for the items. The food was very decent for me to say. The calamari was pretty good when I put in the marinara sauce.
