Lindy's is a small cute hot dog joint that also offers burgers, pork BBQ sandwiches, subs, salads, and breakfast. We tried one of their famous all-beef hot dog with chili and onions, and a NY beef hot sausage, 'all the way', with chili, mustard, and onions. I really liked the all-beef, as the NY sausage was a bit too spicy for me; the hubs preferred the latter! The chili was tasty, and it was the perfect blend of spices; the hot dog and the sausage had a nice snap to them. Get a combo, as it comes with a side of fries or tots and a drink; I recommend in getting the tater tots, as they were super crispy and this place makes it very well! YUM! Currently, they're carry-out only, so you can call ahead or order in-person; some items may take about 25-30 minutes to prepare, as this is a BUSY place, especially during the lunch rush! Three stars for fast and friendly service. All I can say is that I had a hot dog and fries to go. Was in the mood for a hot dog so I stopped at this local spot on Tidewater Dr. The first thing I noticed was their "cash only" sign, then I noticed their sign stating that you cannot use their restroom. Ok, thank you for the heads up. Most if the seating was blocked off, so the seating was limited to two tables right next to the door. Ordered a beef hotdog, fries and an unsweet tea. I have to say that the tea was my favorite part of the meal. The hotdog was ridiculously salty, could barley eat it. I did like the fries, but there weren't enough that were a bit crunchy. Almost forgot to mention that they also serve breakfast. I'll post pictures of the menu. The food is very reasonably priced. I will say that the lady who took my order and the one who rang me up were very friendly. I won't be back for the food, but I do recommend you check it out. Who knows, you might like it. read more

Jeff E. Va. Beach My 1st experience with Lindy's was over 35 yrs ago when they were on Granby St. downtown. Sam (the little Chinese guy with the meat clever) was still cutting up tomatoes and lettuce to be served w/ that clever. The food is very good and cooked fresh. The service is great and never a mistake on the order. I always take the time when I'm close by and eat. Now I take my daughter there and she loves it as well. In this day and age it's the place to go to get some bang to your buck. read more

This is a place that I have a history with. One of those spots my people used to take me to when I was a little girl. Mind yourselves, this place only takes cash, so come prepared. Very homey and welcoming environment when you walk in, like a small town diner without the booths. They aren't selfish with their drinks or food and the prices are reasonable. The hot dog was good, but the chili left much to be desired flavor wise. The double cheese burger was decent, nice and juicy (I might add more tomatoes next time). The only complaint I have about the burger is that it wasn't seasoned, but that bun was toasted and the cheese was melted just right which made up for it. All in all this experience gets a 8/10. read more

I had my first visit to Lindy's today to observe National Hot Dog Day. The reviews looked good and although they weren't offering any specials deals, the regular price was easily as low as I would have spent to eat in my car at a certain fast food drive-in. The dogs were really good! Not large but all beef with that satisfying little snap to the skin when you bite in. I got the large combo with 2 dogs, fries and a drink for $7.95. The dogs come standard with some good chili, mustard and onions. They are a cash only business so be prepared but you don't need a lot of it! * There is more than dogs on the menu. Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in after reading reviews and both the wife and I were extremely happy with our choice. The hotdogs were good chili giid personally I prefer a little more heat. Coleslaw nice and fresh. Wife was happy with her cheeseburger these are the little flat hockey puck burgers not a Red Robin or Kelly's. We call them mom and pop burgers seems the only place you see them anymore older mom and pop stops. Only thing that disappointed was the fries in just not a crinkle cut fun and they only take cash. I dont mind then only taking cash but I wish it was advertised better I just never think to ask anymore. Luckily the wife had cash on her since I almost never do. I have heard stories about the hot dog's here being great but I have never had a hot dog in my life. I will stop by here if I happen to be working from home since it's around the corner. The staff is real nice and remembers what you like to order every time you come in. I think the lady that works the register looks like the mama from mama's family. The food is cheap great when the funds are low from sneaker shopping but you get what you pay for. I say stick with the burgers and fries or maybe the hotdogs although I can't vouch for them. read more

Greasy spoon...I have heard about this place from Coworkers for fatty friday and tried it today for the first time. It has grill side seating so I sat there while I waited for my food to go. Super fast!!! I ordered two philly subs and they were terrific. Lots of cheese and pretty big. Their menu included fried egg sandwiches, phillys, hot dogs, burgers. Staff was very very nice.
