My 2005 Honda CRV is in tip top shape thanks to them, and I hope to drive it until it falls apart! I don't say this lightly, but out of probably 10-15 different shops, they are the most honest, straight forward mechanics I've ever gone to. I have to say I am impressed with the service and professionalism of this organization. This past weekend I took my car in for an AC repair/troubleshooting. It started out as expansion valve needing replacement, then it was another valve, and then it was the compressor... in my mind I thought this was getting out of hand and stopped work on the car. These guys spent all day trying to troubleshoot my AC and when I put in the stop work order, I was disappointed that my AC was not going to get fixed. When I stopped by to pick up my car, instead of charging me for the work performed, they told me it was no cost as they said, "...you brought in the car to be repaired and we were not able to do it for you... no cost." The only negative with this shop, is they only fix Honda and Acura vehicles, and I now have a Toyota. Greg and his staff are the most honest, up front mechanics you will find. Greg has all of the certifications from Honda and his mechanics have all worked on Honda vehicles for years. I took my Honda to them from 2004 until 2010 when it was totaled. It really is hard to explain how good you will feel, knowing that what you think is a problem, is normal for them to fix, will be taken care of, and once I felt so good, brought them all lunch the next day!! (Even that made me feel good!) Danny's original shop is in Lewisville, and gets high ratings as well. Greg Dolby operates this shop, and appreciates his customers and people very highly! I've had my 2003 Honda Element serviced by these guys for 3 years, totaling 4 services. I have never had a problem with them and they always have some great recommendations for me. I just recently took it in for service on a loud whirring noise coming from my wheels and dragging speed felt after accelerating. I told them to check the wheel bearings, differentials, alignment, suspension (milage on suspension should be up for replacement). After looking at everything I had mentioned they found out the cause of the drag... a twisted emergency brake cable, after untwisting all wheels spun equally free when up on the lift, where as before untwisting, the front wheels spun less freely compared to the rear wheels. The whirring they determined to be coming from the tires (Yokohama), even though they were properly worn and balanced the wide tread and known loud quality of Yokohama tires was the only contributor to the sound. So after inspecting all of the above, they returned my keys to me free of charge and told me to bring it back when I had the tires replaced. Nice. I told them over the phone about my driver side seat belt that would not retract easily, thought the retraction spring had worn out. They told me to see if the belt retracted before entering into the seatbelt guide, it did. This simple test proved the spring was still working, they told me to simply clean the guide off from the accumulated oil and dirt with some soap and water. My seatbelt retracts like new a year after I cleaned the guide. I called Greg about my car having a sluggish idle after starting, though after hitting the gas it would jump into a normal idle. He asked if I was putting quality fuel in the car. No, I was putting in regular grade from Tom Thumb Grocery Gas Station. He said, "try upgrading the fuel and if it still doesn't improve give me a call back." I switched to premium grade Tom Thumb fuel and haven't had the problem in 2 years. From my experience, these guys are honest and thorough. After any service they always repeat everything they did in clear detail and are sure to show me every bit of work on the car itself. I've come here many times, and it is a joy every time I visit. If you ask them to do something on your car and it's not necessary, they will recommend you not do it. What other car mechanic does that? Not sure if I know of one. They treat your car like a child/car, not like a profit center. I always feel that I am in great, trustworthy hands coming here. I've had my 2013 Accord EX serviced here twice and I think these guys care about their customers and their reputation. The prices are lower than the dealer for the same work and I believe they only recommend services when they are necessary. For Acura/Honda maintenance and repair, there really isn't anywhere else I'd go. I have several family members who collectively own two Acuras and four Hondas. The reviews you read are real. These guys are not only experienced and basically geniuses when it comes to working on my cars, but they're just decent guys who don't want to upsell you or make you feel like you aren't putting enough money into preventive maintenance by telling you to buy a new air filter unless it REALLY needs it. They once told me a part on my car was bad but that it should probably still be under warranty and that I should call and check it out before they replaced it. I did and it was under warranty!They could have replaced it and never mentioned anything to me about the warranty and made the money! WOW! What a difference a week makes. Last week as I stated in my first ever review on this site, my first hand experience in taking my Honda Element to this auto-shop for service. It was not a pleasant experience overall for many valid reasons. The manager, Greg, realized it and called me the next day wanting to make it up and give him a second chance. Hey, in life, we all need and have been given second chances. I for one have been many times, so I don't hold back from giving others what I have received myself. A new appt. was set up for me to bring in my Honda this week and early this morning, I took my car in. I arrived a few minutes before 8am and Greg, the manager, checked me in promptly, and asked me if I was going to wait there or come back.He offered me a bottle of H2O (water) and gave me the Internet code if I needed to work on my Macbook. I said I would wait there and so he took the key and proceeded to bring my car into the service dock. He personally worked on my car, which needed a new horn and a replacement for the crankshaft seal, which I was informed last week, was starting to leak. He proceeded to work on my car and "Lo and Behold," in one hour, it was done and I was ready to drive off. This was a huge improvement from my first experience last week. I gave Greg a second chance to redeem himself and he went the extra mile and did a great job. On top of that, due to last week's unfavorable experience, he even replaced my Honda with a new horn and a new crankshaft seal and did not charge me for it. THIS IS WHAT I CALL GOING THE EXTRA MILE FOR A NEW CUSTOMER. This is what I called doing whatever it takes to correct an issue, a problem, winning back an unhappy customer. Has my opinion of Danny's Import Service changed? Definitely. Would I recommend them to other Honda and Acura owners? Definitely Would I bring my Honda Element in for service/ Definitely. Am I happy with the treatment, service done and courtesy and good will gesture of Greg, the manager? Definitely. NOTE: Last week's debacle is now "water under the bridge" A problem occurred and a solution was proposed and I gave him a second chance. And he sure went the extra mile for me and I was delighted to drive out of there with a smile. I've always had great service here, and as I drive a '90 Accord, I probably go in more than most. Very quick service, too. I started taking my 2008 Honda accord to Danny's Import about 4 months ago. I am very glad I did. The service is better than the Honda dealership up the road, in my opinion. Just last week the mechanics found an issue that was under warranty, and had me take it to the Honda in Ft. Worth, to see if in-fact these issues were still under warranty. Needless to say, my Honda was covered under the warranty and Danny's Import Service saved me thousands of $$$ in savings! All of the great reviews of Danny's Import are well-deserved. I have been here several times for routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) They are always ready to go at the time of the appointment, have the maintenance completed in well under an hour, and will give me reminders of upcoming maintenance items. They also use genuine Honda parts and are so much cheaper than a dealership's service department. The mechanics are honest and straightforward about what needs to be fixed and what does not need to be fixed. Anyone who has ever dealt with a dealership's service department knows what a refreshing change that is! As an example, I had been running a GPS unit with a power cord when the GPS unit suddenly stopped working. I took my car into Danny's and they told me I had blown a fuse. They replaced the fuse and only charged me the cost of the fuse (less than $2) and not for labor. This seems to be their consistent way of doing things: fix what needs to be fixed at a fair price and treat the customer with respect. I'll continue to bring my Honda here for as long as I own it. read more

Took my Honda Fit in for a couple of problems, one new and the other reoccuring. I've had a lot of trouble at other shops trying to "fix" issues by using cheap parts and then trying to get me to replace them well before a decent part should have been worn out. The guys at Danny's were very honest and fixed not only the primary issue but also were able to tighten my serpentine belt that another shop had "replaced" twice. I ended up paying less than I was quoted since it happened to be an easier fix and I haven't had a problem since! read more

i was very impressed with my experience at Danny's. Above all things, they are honest! If something doesn't need to be fixed right away, they will tell you so. Unlike may repair shops who tend to 'fearmonger' when you bring your used car in for them to look at, the folks at Danny's provide you with objective and honest feedback on the state of your car. Their prices are good (I had my AC serviced here, and they did a couple of other things in that price as well), and(unlike most other mechanics I've worked with) they can accept that some people like to fix their own cars, and they give you a lot of useful information on how to do it yourself. You get the feeling that they actually want to help you with your car, and not just get more business out of you. They have a lot of awards and certifications hanging on their wall as well, which shows that they know what they're talking about, and I think that all the positive feedback on their cork board in their waiting room from satisfied customers, proves that they have earned their reputation as honest, skilled mechanics.
