I took it to 3 shops in Houston and every shop said it was the transmission and that it had to be rebuilt. I knew I was moving and wanted to wait to have it fixed here in Ft worth in case there were any warranty issues etc As soon as I got settled in I looked on nextdoor to see who the neighbors recommended and I saw several good reviews for Brights - I called Bright's explained to them the situation and they said it would be around $3400 and 1 and half weeks to rebuild the transmission. I took it up there to get the transmission rebuilt and they called me the next day saying the transmission was fine that a clutch was the problem. I ended up getting it fixed for $250 and had it back in a day ! The truck is running great and I'm a happy camper- I can't recommend them enough .

I have taken to another transmission shop that has a 3 yr/60,000 mi warranty who I trust as they have done other repairs for me. My opinion, nice people, but stay away! Either the service performed is faulty, or the parts are substandard, or both. This is TWO that failed in less than a year.

My particular car manufacturer does not have the Rotor's machined. They require you to replace the rotors when you change the brakes. So I told them I would buy the brake pads from them and then I would bring in the Rotors since I know I won't be able to machine them. They refuse to allow you to bring in the rotors. They refuse to give you a price quote for the rotors. I assume it's some kind of astronomical price compared to what you might buy at AutoZone or O'Reillys and they're just gonna price gauge on the parts, hoping you're a sucker and don't know better. Furthermore, when I tried to get a price quote. He simply just hung up the phone when you ask too many questions. And he claimed he was the manager. Well, I can tell you, the manager of the store is an asshole and will not be getting my business and will not be getting favorable reviews either.

I brought my 2000 F150 in for transmission repair back in 2020. It was the original transmission in the truck but it had a bad kick and I knew it needed rebuilt going in. This is when the continued nightmares with my transmission began. They "rebuilt" the transmission in around a week Christmas break and I got my truck back but noticed a slight kick when I got it back when letting off the gas and then back on. So they had me bring it back and they confirmed they noticed the issue. They flushed the transmission fluid and gave it back to me. It did the same thing so he said it was probably the transmission valve body. I took it back and this is a couple months by this time. I got it back couple weeks later and same exact thing. They had my truck, no joke for close to a year. Finally, he couldn't figure it out and told me he would get me a "new" transmission. So I was like great, now I feel like it will be good now. I got my truck back, it is so much worse than even before I originally brought my truck in. They not only made it worse, they slipped the shift cable off my truck so I had to be in 3rd gear on my dash to be in drive. I was livid, they said I brought it like that and it was on me. I'm beyond fed up so I took it to my known local mechanic and confirmed they didn't put it back and I paid him for his time. My transmission would randomly slip and rev up so I videoed it and took it to them. I would drive with them but since it was intermittent at the time it wouldn't do it. At this point I am just fed up. It shifts horrible, it shifts hard and it slips and randomly shoots up to five thousand RPMS when I slowly climb. Shortly after, I was servicing my truck and I had before I brought my truck to them, put a drain plug on my transmission so I could drain it without getting nasty. They had the audacity to steal my transmission pan I custom built and swap it out. So they swapped my good transmission with a trashed one, swapped my transmission pan with one that looked even more used than mine and now doesn't have a drain plug and they told me the reason if shifts hard is bc I had slack in my rear differential. I took it to my mechanic and he said almost every Ford has that amount of slack and that was not the issue. I finally just was done with them after over a year and dealt with the hand these thieves gave to me. $1800 scam. DO NOT do business with these guys or you'll regret it. My truck is a weekend truck and I am just driving it until the transmission blows up which it's getting close. The transmission kicks even harder, slips more often and harder and squeals and screams if I get it in overdrive. Take my review and stay AWAY!!!!!

Garry was the guy I turned my car in to, he gave me an estimate, and a time he thought it would take. I picked up my car a week later, on the day he said it would be ready, it runs great, and he gave me the senior discount. Very friendly, and he had suggestions about a different engine problem I was having. He even had done some research on what the problem was and what was needed to fix it. I asked him to do the work, but he said they specialize in transmissions and it would be better if I took it to a mechanic that works on engines. Very friendly, and I think very honest. I will go back, and recommend them.
