There were free darts, pool was only $1 a round, and there was even karaoke. We ended up staying for almost 4 hours! We met a few locals who come here often and one of them even bought us drinks. We really enjoyed our time here. The only complaint would be that the drinks aren't the best in terms of options, but there's more than enough to get the job done. This place sucks. Although i guess thats what you get for going to a bar in a strip mall. Very dark atmosphere. Only a few tvs with nothing on. You ask the hillbilly lady behind the bar to turn on a game for you but she doesnt have the channel. So youre stuck listening to the tv talk or watch her make out with her boyfriend by the bar. You want cold food and to wait ten minutes for a fresh drink this is the place to go. I coulda stayed home and listened to my own tv and not had to wait so long for a drink. Also there is no music playing. Now i know why there wasnt that many people in here. Basically because this place sucks. Just a bunch of drunk people sitting at a bar talking about their problems. No music. No sports. Cold food. Lack of service. A hillbilly behind the bar who loves to make out with her boyfriend. Tons of customers walking behind the bar. Dont waste your time. This is my first yelp ever. I work in the service industry so takes a lot to push me over the edge. But I have NEVER been treated so poorly at an establishment ever!!!! It was my friend's birthday and she really wanted to go sing karaoke Friday night. So a group of us friends went over. We live 2 minutes from this bar so I was excited we found a new place to go! We were standing around talking & listening to everyone sing when all of the sudden this drunken SLOB comes up to us calling us every name in the book and then kicks my friend and pushes him into the pool table! Are you kidding?! When my friend and I went to go tell the bartender, she tells us she doesn't believe us and that he is an amazing customer....never will I return to this disgusting, sloppy, sad excuse of a "dive bar". This place was fun and pretty much everyone on staff and customers were friendly. I love Karaoke and they had so many songs to choose from. The drinks were reasonably priced. I didn't eat or see anyone else eating, and I was never offered a menu or had anyone approach us at the table. I always had to go to the bar to get something. So maybe they serve food or not, I couldn't tell you. Some guy got to drunk and looked like he was going to be sick. The bartender came right over and gave him water. Plus, asked him if he had a ride or needed her to call a taxi for him. He ended up having a ride and the bartender asked him to leave. Him and his DD left without a hassle. In response to Alexis, her facts are not correct nor is it appropriate for her to insult anyone especially as she is representing herself as a server. I was at Danny's the night she is referring to. The gentleman who claimed he was pushed was intoxicated and got into the other patron's face and was quite insulting to him, the karaoke jockey and then also the bartender. The other patron that Alexis publicly insulted never touched another patron and was actually standing up for the karaoke jockey. Alexis's friend who claims he was pushed was agitated and looking to start a fight. Danny's does not tolerate that behavior. read more

This is not a fancy place. It isn't fine dining. But it's very comfortable, the menu has a nice selection and I've never had a bad experience here. The prices are great, they have specials for different days of the week (my favorite is the beer buckets). The best part of the place is the friendly staff, as soon as we walk in the bartender has our usual drinks ready without even us even having to ask. read more

The venue itself is cool and the building has some funky features to it, like a castle turret on the outside façade. Inside, it's nice and spacious. Almost TOO spacious. Their $5 draft-of-the-month was a Goose Island pocket pilsner. My wife got a few pints of Bells Oberon (which is in season now!) for $7.50/ea. It wasn't very busy so our server was able to bring out two more rounds in a timely manner, however they never gave us water. Spartan cheese bricks (5 for $15) are much larger than your standard mozza stick. Squares of 1/2" thick mozzarella are deep fried in a tempura-like batter and served with marinara; we loved this variation on a classic bar bite. The Greek-style chicken skewers ($15) were tasty, they came with tzadziki and pita wedges. As much as we enjoyed the fried pickles ($12), the cayenne ranch dipping sauce was overpowering. Whoever made that batch did so with a very heavy hand on the seasoning, and after one bite I looked at my wife to say "uhhh honey FYI, they went way too hard on the cayenne". One brief coughing fit later, she agreed. Bread = 4 Circuses = 4 There's your typical array of large TV's showing all manner of sports, and I appreciated them flying collegiate flags representing the original Big Ten lineup (none of this Rutgers or UCLA crap). I can definitely see myself coming back to watch Boilermaker basketball or one of Purdue's early season football games on their outdoor patio. * TL;DR * Naperville may have over 260 places to dine at, but Spartan Ale House is worth checking out. The daily drink specials are great, so even if $6 Moscow Mule Mondays aren't your bag, there's $4 pint Tuesdays and $5 bloody mary's on the weekend (plus $3 domestic bottles Sat-Sun). The food we tried was better than average and I'm looking forward to getting a burger next visit. Cool place, definitely recommended.
