    Beer List (March 2025)

Loved revisiting Up North Ale House as it was a favorite spot of mine when I lived in the area some years ago. It has an elevated bar vibe, offers daily specials & good pricing, and menu has something for everyone. They also have a lot of craft beers which is a bonus when I bring others. I visited with my fiancé and parents while in the area and everyone was impressed by the food and atmosphere. It was a bit crowded but the staff handled everything great. My go-to are the boneless wings and sharing a side of fries. The wings are breaded well but still have a lot of meat and sauce is present but not overdone. The burgers are my second go to so my fiancé got the Pineapple Whiskey Burger. It was HUGE and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Beers came in good sized glasses and mixed drinks on special were stiff which is a thumbs up in my book. Happy to see that Up North Ale House continues to thrive in the community. Enjoyed my visit and would certainly be back!

Food is fabulous & beer selection is excellent, but what I like best is the ability to "buy the kitchen a round" if you enjoy the food...for $20 how can you not? We started w the Bavarian and it's huge & delicious! I was warned the chic parm was huge and it was...I could only eat half. Spaghetti it was served w was excellent and the chicken was perfectly cooked. My "date" had the salmon & swears it was the best he ever had....but he also had the tots and sweet potato fries so he may not have the most refined palate. Excellent service from Spencer and love that we could a table at 7 pm on a Sat night. Always love the food

Great food! Good service. Buffalo breaded cauliflower was delicious. Thin coating of breading on fresh cauliflower vs all breading with a tiny bit of cauliflower, which is what you get at most restaurants. Nice strong buffalo flavor! Normally topped with blue cheese crumbles and a side of blue cheese. We got it with no blue cheese, and opted for a side of ranch. Yum! We got a medium (14") pizza with onions. It was absolutely amazing. Crust is thicker than thin, thinner than pan. Crispy perfection! Cheese was real, not that cheap artificial stuff many restaurants use. They could have been more generous with the onions ($2.75). Served piping hot. Pizza was half price (Thursday special). Great deal!!! Pop was flat, but Jenny, our waitress replaced it with one from "the back, because the front one tends to be flat." Huh? Overall a great experience, with some exceptional food.

Up North is a solid local place for bar food and drinks. Several drink specials from tap choices to cocktails. Not the fastest in terms of service but still attentive. Southwest burger and potato wedges were good, as were parmesan garlic wings and the create your own pasta-fettucine alfredo-was enjoyed as well. The highlight for me was the Fried Ice Cream, which I haven't had in years.

I had great service from Jack at the bar. The wings and fried pickles were excellent. Just felt like this place is slightly expensive for what it is and also not impressed with the $.75 charge for ranch dressing with my wings. That should come automatically.

We had a 6:30 reservation on Saturday night. We were greeted promptly by 2 helpful and polite hostesses. Our friends were still on the way so we were seated at 6:15. There was plenty of room outside and inside we chose a nice round table for four on the back wall. Our friends arrived, we ordered some drinks and dinner. Our orders (pictured) came in good time and prepared as ordered. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese with Italian sausage. Our table also ordered Buffalo Cauliflower, dry rub wings and Braised Short Ribs. My order took a little more time because they needed to adjust my Pappardelle's Italian sausage to well done as I ordered it. I didn't mind at all and as someone who feels uncomfortable sending anything back... Another waitress told me about the issue and our waitress followed up shortly as well. All our food was delicious and it was obvious to us the staff really cared about their customers having a memorable experience! One final point, we never felt rushed. It was nice to feel comfortable to catch up with our friends for a while after we finished our dinner. Keep up the great service, food and drinks. This was my first experience here and I will spread the word.

We dined at up north for a Friday lunch. We were shocked that there was literally no one in the restaurant. Hoping this meant we would have excellent service, that wasn't exactly the case. They had an issue with their pop machine, so the Pepsi came out after our food. I had ordered a salad with avocado, and they neglected to add the avocado. They did bring me a side after I pointed this out. However, the food was very good. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Overall, not a bad experience, and I would probably come again if I'm in the area.

I had such a great experience at Up North ! I came in alone, on a Friday night, just expecting to get a drink, but I ended up having a wonderful experience. Melissa greeted me with such enthusiasm, and contagious laughter. Jack was so welcoming; introduced himself to me, and brought me a beer within 15 seconds of me sitting down, despite it being busy. After that, Alexa approached me; her smile and positive energy was infectious . The specials are great !! and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Their live entertainment was awesome.. he was a great singer and not too loud, like a lot of places LOL. Whether you're solo, a couple, or a family, UpNorth is a top tier choice!!. I'll definitely be back.

We went on Super Bowl Sunday the first time, and were seated right away. Our waitress, Ciera, explained the specials to us and gave us some time to decide on our order. She was great, the right mix of attentiveness but not hovering, super friendly too. On Sundays, apps, crocks, and salads are all half off. Such an amazing deal, especially in this economy. My husband really enjoyed their devils eggs, he ate all 12! The appetizer sampler was great, and we ordered 10 wings with the devils sauce. Ciera was concerned it may be too spicy for us, so we tried a sample with some fries. It's delicious! The devils sauce is one of the components of the wing challenge, so we understand her concern. We went back again on Valentine's Day for a late stop after a busy day. They have a $5 burger and fry special. Again, great food at a great price! Beers, wines, and champagnes use an RFID card, and you pay by the ounce (or fraction thereof). The good news is you can try a bonafide sip of just about everything and anything without feeling bad. The bad news is that while the cost isn't high, if you're not careful, it adds up quickly. I truly did enjoy the variety, and especially loved that they have the special glassware, complete with bases, that you may pour yourself a flight. I also enjoyed seeing how everything was organized by category, so that you may find something more your speed rather than a recent brewery experience where I am looking for something that isn't an IPA. For food, I ordered the Brussels Sprouts. While not mind-blowing, these were above average. The sprouts were pretty well roasted (not quite perfect, but not bad), and I liked the sweet, savory, and acidic notes of the bacon, maple, cranberries, and balsamic. Everything was well-balanced and I happily cleared my plate. Next, especially for a place that is largely self-service, I want to recognize my server for being kind and attentive throughout the experience. In terms of value, I feel as though their prices are around average, given the area and the product, for I am sure the tech is not cheap! The vibe is something I can only describe as brewery-esque, with brick, metal, and wood. I am less concerned about the walls, though, what I do want to highlight is how clean everything was! With the amount of hands touching everything, this is no easy feat. Final verdict: Sometimes, especially on a warmer day, it's not about fancy whiskey or food, but about simple food and drink done well. Tapville Social is that place. There are more than enough beers that you're sure to find something you like, and solid food that you have something to wash down, and aren't drinking on an empty stomach.

We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.
