My wife has taken me here quite a few times. It has always been priced good and a lot of fun.

Rosie O Reilly's surprised me. From the outside it isn't much to look at and, well, I guess it isn't much inside either. But what it does do is a wonderful job of is making you feel welcome and like a regular. And that is sometimes somewhat of a rarity these days. A friend and I stopped in for a few drinks after having driven past more than a handful of times. We were able to find a spot on the far side of the bar, which was perfect. Very quickly we were greeted by the bartender and had cold beers in-hand. She was very friendly and seemed to know everyone else in the joint. We were the "strangers" but she made us feel welcome as well. Since we just had drinks at the bar I cannot comment on much else but I will simply say that I like the atmosphere and the service here. The main clientele seems to be local regulars but we felt just as welcome as anyone and enjoyed our few rounds of beers. This is my kind of place and I could see myself returning here again in the future. read more

This is such a great dive bar. It has such an old time feel with the typewriter to cash out. I love the outside patio along with the front porch. Where this is located makes you feel like you are not in Wheaton and in the south. It truly feels like you're on a mini vacation. I love that they have TouchTunes, darts and slots for it being such a small bar they have a lot to choose from. I will say I have been here a couple of times and had a great experience. I came here again this past Friday and it was crowded. As they only had two bartenders the service was horrible. My friends and I had to look at both bartenders twice in the eyes and they still would not come to our side of the bar. It seemed as they were just going to regulars which is not good if you are trying to have new customers. There was a point we had to ask the bar back to get us drinks. The whole night it would take forever to get drinks and at one point one of the bartenders I felt would purposely not serve me and my four girlfriends. read more

A group of ten of us stopped by Rosie O Reilly's for breakfast on Sunday, September 10th. I had reserved a table for ten outdoors under a tent. This bar is a hidden gem! The owner is friendly & personable, even sitting at our table a couple times. The server was accommodating and efficient, giving us all separate checks per our request. Between the owner & the server, refills of coffee popped up, hot water for tea appeared...all without us even having to ask! My Bloody Mary was tasty. The food was outstanding! The cheesy hash browns are to die for and the biscuits and gravy were a huge hit. We'll definitely go back again! Yum! read more

A bud suggested Barb's Sunday breakfast. I rarely drink, so I usually don't go to a bar for breakfast. I just had to try one of Steph's signature bloody mary. They add some A-1 sauce and a shot of Guinness. Nice to see they add horseradish too. I went with the Grand Slam. It's a 2x2x2x2 with their Cinnamon Crunchy French Toast. There's only a half dozen items on the menu, but you can mix and match what ever suits you. It's a great game day destination and be prepared to get there early. The regulars fill up the bar stools pretty quick and there's only a few tables near the bathrooms. They offer half off pizzas during Bears game and also with a Yelp check-in. I want to try their biscuits and gravy on my next visit. Very reasonably priced too. Just $4 for the bloody and most of their breakfasts are just $7, the skillet is $8. read more

Nice neighborhood watering hole in Wheaton, Friday night crowd was good, and the beer/drinks were well poured and fairly priced. Music was a selection was a mix of country and rock. One odd occurrence though, my buddy and I saw a pair of barstools open up so we went and took them, then like 15 minutes later this bloated piece of trash and is broke ass crew come up and said "get up, those are our stools", and I was like sorry bro, thought you left. He then explained that he left his "napkin" at the bar to mark his spot. I call bullshit, but it wasn't worth getting mad about because the guy looked fairly drunk . What say you Yelpers? Rosie's is a rad place to spend some quality imbibing in the good old town of Wheaton. I disagree with the dive bar reference in the earlier post. Rosie's is pretty much the only bar in Wheaton. Sure, you could go to a restaurant that has a bar, but Rosie's is all there is if you're looking for just a straight up drinking establishment, it's not the classiest place in town, but the place (including the bathrooms) is clean, the bartenders are friendly, and they serve more than warm beer and whiskey. If you want to go to a dive bar in area, I'd suggest rolling north up Gary Ave for about a mile. There, you'll find Sully's, a town drunk institution. If you're looking for something less trashy, but still quite dirty and dive-y, drive 1/2 mile more, and you'll soon arrive at Pub Yahoo, in the basement of the American Legion. Rosie's has a fabulous beer and booze selection. They carry Kilo Kai Rum (the first bar in the area I've seen to have it), tons of different types of Tequila, and all kinds of other booze. It seems like every time I go there, which is often they have something new to try. Last time I was there they had a crazy black rum with an octopus on the bottle, it was pretty delicious. The bartenders are very helpful if you're into trying new things Marla is by far my favorite bartender there, she's very personable, and super attentive, Ami is awesome, as well. The natural setting of Rosie's just adds to it's appeal.. AND they open at 6:30am everyday except Sunday, so if you're ready for some boozin', there's a good chance Rosie's is open and ready for you. read more

Dress it up anyway you want to, this is still a dive bar. This place is pretty unique as it overlooks a "protected" area which has lots of trees. That's your view in the back and on either side, but if you are sitting on the front porch, you can see the cars whizzing by on Gary Avenue. This place is nicer than before it's rehab. It's still a room with a square bar, so it's not that big. They always have signs out in front advertising specials, the latest tempting you to stop in for some breakfast. I have visited here twice. One time I was with a group of gals and we just hung out away from the bar and it was ok. Another time we were trying to watch a game and sit at the bar and there were a few rednecks there that I just couldn't take! So, it's pretty much a hit or miss thing as far as the crowd goes. Don't be looking for any fancy drinks here, it's pretty much a longneck place! read more

This is a fun little dive bar with a really interesting rowdy crowd and fun staff. Drinks are good and well-priced, but the food is inferior to that of just about anywhere. They will often give away free snacks though and I can't argue with free food. The crowd is what really adds to the fun experience of going here although sometimes people here can be too troublesome and "cross the line". People here love and are very emotional about sports. So if you love sports bars this is the place for you. If you're classy you probably would prefer to be somewhere else. Rosie's is the definition of a total dive bar. read more

We drive by this place every weekday morning on the way to the train station and it's always open! I kept saying that we needed to hit it up for breakfast some time! We finally did and I've got to say that we weren't disappointed! Rosie's really is a dive bar and there is seriously nothing wrong with that! There were a couple of guys at the bar on Saturday morning when we arrived, so we plopped down at the bar too. The bartender asked what we wanted to drink and we asked for a coffee & a soda. It may be a bar, but we just woke up lol! I asked for a menu and was told they didn't have one! I thought this was pretty funny, but should have been prepared for it! The bartender told us that breakfast was pretty basic... Eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, toast... Well, we'll have that then! I had my eggs over medium with sausage and the boy had scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon. For a basic dive bar breakfast, it was really good! The hasbrowns were by far the best I've had anywhere! They weren't greasy like most places you go, and they had chives in them! Ok, now that is a fantastic idea! The bread for the toast was really good too! The bartender was super friendly! When I asked if he had coffee, he said no, but he would make me a fresh pot! He was the only one there, so he kept us up to date with the progress of our food and he kept the other guys drinks filled. We'll definitely go back again! read more

Nice spot to grab a beer or two. At least 6 beers on tap, price is average but they have drink specials everyday, offering selected tall boy beers for $3, nice. Place is right off Gary, hard to miss. Lots of parking in front, side, and back. Inside is well lit, with a squarish bar that may be a squeeze to get by if people are sitting along the side by the door and you weigh more than 85lbs. Service is quick and patrons are friendly, worth a visit. read more

Not bad at all Ol' Rosies. I was greatly impressed by my visit to Rosies. After a bunch of friends got a little to wild for Cozymels we needed something a little more music so my buddy Joe could get his groove on! I was told it was kind of a small dive type bar but there is no way I would descibe it as a dive bar.Small yes but its clean,theres slightly bright lighting there arent any super smelly creepy dudes lining the bar ready to pounce! Which is a plus!.The cliental was a nice little mix from old to young. Theres a dart board along with some other video game thingy (didnt get a good look at it). The beer cheap.They have a bunch of daily specials which always make any bar better! So if your looking for a nice little fun bar head over. But obviously if you live in Wheaton you know this since there arent any other bars in Wheaton,so your only choice=Rosies! read more

Love this place because of the beers they have on tap. The staff is so friendly but it's Harder to mingle with this crowd for some reason. I love the atmosphere at Rosie's. Be it after your night-shift, stopping by in the afternoon for lunch and an awesome bloody mary or a light dinner and cocktails to partying the night away. Such a nice old historic place I am surprised that history hating Dupage county hasn't demolished this place. A young crowd hangs out here as Wheaton college kids need and drink too. It is small but pretty cool. It was a house at one time. No ugly strip mall bar here. Like I said if I knew about this place when I was younger I would go all the time. I am surprised that Carol Stream has something this special. Only problem with bars like that are rude people who always have to play the juke box machine. read more

This place is great. The staff is wonderful, we went here on a Friday after dinner. It was our first night out since baby, and we had a nice time here. Small place in the middle of nowhere. Cheap drinks and they are open in the morning. I go there because I work nights so its like the equivalent of 8pm. While talking to the other patrons they all seem to be alcoholics. I make sure I leave before they do, so they don't hit me on the road. They have good drunk people food there frozen pizza and the like. Bar tender shares a little to much which is annoying. This place is a dive but thats ok because its not trying to be anything else. read more
