They're professional and go out of their way to assure your belongings are safe and secure, and arrive in the same shape or better than they were to begin with! They worked quickly and got the job done perfectly and with a smile. When I called I spoke with Dan himself. He was very transparent and open with the cost, and provided an explanation for so - which was more than reassuring. They were on time, on budget and on the ball with every tool you could imagine to assure your belongings are removed safely. When I had the wrong piece to remove a table top Dan had everything on his person to do so! I used Dan's Moving service a few years ago for a Manhattan move. He increased the price mid-move because he didn't realize the walk-up was so steep and he only brought 1 other guy. And he was informed prior to the move that it was a 5th floor walk up. He had already loaded more than half of his stuff into the van when he started re-negotiating terms, and at that point I was scared he would damage my furniture / personal items if I didn't agree. So I felt like I had to accept.. increase of $150 for a small job and then had the audacity to ask for a tip at the end. Last thing to note was: a few years ago he came in a van that look liked it would fall apart, from the 1990's or something. I don't know if he's upgraded since then, but it looked really cheap and I was not happy with my furniture inside there. Should've just cancelled and used someone else. read more

Dan and his crew are very professional, take great care with your belongings, and work quickly and efficiently. He is very accessible via phone, email, and text, and will work with you on times and schedules. He can give you a very accurate time estimate if you give him a box and item count. Also of note is that his trucks are from NJ, and therefore are clean of bedbugs. (Any NYC-based truck is suspect, as the majority of the rentals out there are not cleaned as they are supposed to be after each trip.) All items are strapped down in the moving truck, mattresses and box springs bagged, blankets used on furniture, and he has a container for any loose items you might have. (There are always some.) In addition, I had some things in storage I had to pick up and was not charged for an extra stop. I highly recommend this company. read more

Dan and his crew in New York City were extremely punctual, respectful, clean, and careful with my breakables. They were able to completely move me out of my 1-bedroom apartment in under 2 hours - I was so impressed! I needed a couch picked up from Long Island and brought to my home in Manhattan. This also involved a 5 floor walk up and removing 2 older couches and bringing down stairs. Our move was a success! Dan and his guys showed up right on time and called before to let me know when they were on their way. As soon as they got there they started clearing the apartment out. They wrapped whatever furniture needed it and moved all our boxes without anything breaking. One thing I really appreciated with Dan was that he was able to keep me on his schedule even though the potential closing date of my new house changed. Dan's crew was super professional and efficient. They were very careful moving the contents of my studio (which I'll admit were terribly packed - by me - and falling all over the place). They took apart my furniture quickly and put it back together efficiently and carefully. Dan is a great guy and he and his crew were very professional. Throughout our dealings he was very communicative, calling when leaving the previous job and again when he was near by. Going into the move I was a bit worried considering that I have a california kingsize bed and massive dresser and mirror. However at no point was I ever worried about my furniture as Dan made sure to wrap each piece thoroughly and even aquired a truck from far out in New Jersey to assure that there would be no risk in the truck being infected. I would hope that all moving companies start doing this except then maybe Dan would have to drive even farther out to make sure he is providing his customers with a safe environment for their valuables. It sounds as if Dan were called in because the other movers who showed were not adequate. I am sure Dan was probably pulled between multiple jobs. Unfortunately for "movees" quality movers are desperately required for about 1 week at the rollover of each month. These guys work like madmen during that period and have to call in referrals in order to cover the volume of jobs that come waves. I am sure that Dan probably remedied the situation when he arrived at David's request and I am sure the other movers got scolded or will not receive any more referrals from Dan after the incident. read more

This review is super late but I wanted to make I submitted it. Dan was a total life saver for our move about 3 months ago. Our original movers bailed last minute because they were delayed by their previous move. Our move-out building had a strict policy to move out on that day and by a certain time. I called Dan at 3pm while he was wrapping up their last move to ask if there was any way he could move us out by 7pm that day. Miraculously, Dan said he could make it work and was generous enough to offer his services so late in the day and so last minute. He quoted me a charge which was in line with what I was already paying before - did not try to short change me even though he knew I was in such a desperate situation. Within a couple of hours he arrived at my place with 2 of his men - all of them were super friendly and ready to get the job done. Going even a minute over 7pm would have cost us a couple of $100 in fines. In record time however they were able to move us out of our apartment without any damages or concerns.
