Dan's the man! I was so stressed about moving (first timer) and I had no idea what to do. I was calling multiple moving service companies requesting a quote but they were all booked and/or were unresponsive. I messaged Dan as my last and final quote through Yelp and he had responded to me right away. I called him and we quickly discussed the logistics and what his rate was and what it entailed. He was soooo knowledgeable in the moving industry and I knew I was in safe hands. He let me know that the trucks they rent are from a bed bug free location in Jersey bc he didn't trust the trucks in New York. Talk about being extremely caring! We had 3 locations to hit. My partner's location, my location and our move in location. Dan had arrived at my partner's location 1.5-2 hours than what was quoted (so much better for us) and was in and out of there in 1.5 hours. Him and his team, Paco and Roy were in and out of my location in 1.5-2 hours. They were super friendly, efficient and funny! We all helped out with the move and before we know it, we were already at our move in location. It started pouring rain but Paco and Roy remained undeterred and kept moving! All in all the entire move in took about 6.5 hours which included dissembling and reassembling the furniture and all 3 locations. Definitely would recommend Dan's Moving Service--Paco, Raquelo, and Dan (hopefully I didn't butcher their names!) were professional, efficient, and genuine. I had reached out a few weeks before to get a quote and my total came out exactly as expected. On the day of the move, the crew did have another job that ran over because their previous client had ran into troubles, but they kindly let me know beforehand about that and kept me updated. Once they arrived, everything was done at the speed of light! I had handed my keys to the crew as I met with them later on at the new apartment; they were great in communicating when they arrived (I had to reach out to my Superintendent to open the front door since I didn't have that key yet) and started unloading. I moved this morning with Dan and it could not have gone better. The fact alone that I am not tired at 11pm just hours after our move should tell you how Dan and his crew of Paco and Roy make moving completely stress-free! We booked for 10am, they arrived at 10 on the nose! I was so impressed both with how much care they handled our furniture + boxes with, and also how quickly they were able to get everything done. They finished unloading everything into our new place before lunchtime. Unreal, just perfectly planned and executed on their end from start to finish. Once everything was unloaded, we asked if they could stay a little longer and help us assemble our bed frame which had just arrived in a box. No problem at all! Not even a hesitation, just "of course!" Dan, Paco, and Roy were friendly, resourceful, and even complimentary towards our furniture choices! My husband and I could not recommend Dan and team more highly. Our most recent move was the 4th (!) time we have booked them, and the move - despite involving several pieces of heavy furniture, boxes and boxes of books, and many stairs - went just as smoothly as the last ones. We were moving right before Thanksgiving, and despite the holiday (and heavy traffic!) Dan worked with us to accommodate our schedule and showed up right on time. Paco and Roy were incredibly friendly and professional, and they were conscious of COVID safety and giving us our space. They were so careful with all of our belongings, and even offered to rearrange all of the boxes in our basement after they were moved so that we could access the things we needed more easily. He was the ideal contractor; he clearly knows his business inside and out and he used that knowledge to help us every step of the way without taking advantage of the fact that we weren't knowledgeable. The move took slightly longer than expected which happens, although we moved a few blocks this time and paid about the same amount as last time (with a different company moving states plus boxes). There was really 1 out of 3 workers working really hard and felt this could have caused a slight delay; at a few points, I helped with the move to speed things up. In addition to paying for the day's rental van, COI, moving rate per 30 min, we noticed the tip was estimated slightly upward from the total amount of all these items (versus only the moving portion). BOOK THESE GUYS! After calling around, and getting estimates from as many movers as I could, I quickly learned that pricing for a move is anything but transparent: price for the truck, price per hour, price for... idk some other bs, and of course, price per stair. Per person per stair. Because who's counting, right? When I called Dan's, I spoke TO DAN. I spoke to Dan a couple times before the move, in fact, as he would call ME, and keep me updated on status and whatnot. He told me that the price was 1) the price for the truck and 2) a half-hourly rate. He also told me: -They rent their trucks from the suburban Jersey area so as not to deal with the less than sanitary city conditions and turnover rates of trucks. -That while his hourly rate was more than I'd hear from others, this was because he avoided the crazy price model of said others and additionally, paid his workers a more than fair share. That he didn't hire college kids, or per diem employees, and that his guys were professionals who would be courteous and quick and mindful. **I can't stress enough how true that latter part was.** Roy and Paco were AMAZING. They were so fast, and so attentive... I felt the stress of the move immediately dissipate. They wrapped everything in blankets, put hardware into baggies and taped it onto whence it came, disassembled and reassembled (two TVs, our bed, crib, my ideas about relying on others to move...) How about this? Paco even had his son working with him. A happily unexpected additional helper at no extra charge, and a total sweetheart (like all of these guys). By my own admission, I am a total control freak. I have never been so glad to relinquish control to others in... maybe my whole life. read more

Dan and his crew showed up on the minute, loaded the truck, and then securely packed the UHaul pod, even throwing in a some securing straps. The pricing structure is zero BS - I gave a rough estimate and was charged by the hour in 15 minute increments. We used Dan's moving service to move from our home in Queens NY to two destinations, one in NJ and one in PA. It was an awesome experience! Dan was easy to reach and very knowledgeable and helpful in planning the move, even though there were a few difficult items to be dealt with, including a 500 pound safe that had to come out of our basement! Dan and his three associates arrived on time, were very friendly and efficient, and moved everything safely and without a hitch, and on time. They carefully protected all of our furniture and items using blankets and wrap and handled everything with care.
