Everything about Ruff Life Mobile Grooming screams quality. From their beautiful, new, clean trucks to the ease of scheduling an appointment, a perfect operation. My 9 year old, double coated, Aussie mix was traumatized by a groomer when she was younger. We started using mobile groomers about four years ago to help take some stress out of the visits. BUT- It is so hard to find quality! Luckily I passed one of Ruff Life's vans on Merrick Road about two years ago and have been using them since! We love when JULIE pulls up to our house, so much so that I would say my pup is hardly nervous anymore. On our most recent groom about two months ago, we opted to add on the Japanese Green Bath $. Initially I was skeptical of adding something that cost even more money BUT I am glad that I did. It cut down on my pup's dandruff SIGNIFICANTLY & her coat is SO MUCH SOFTER, even weeks later! Every single member of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend their services. I stand by this-you get what you pay for! Their quality is unmatched. I read good reviews people are afraid the write the negative about the groomers- the charge $363 plus $tip$ for 45 minutes- she didn't even bath my dog no water was used I watched in my RING camera. I have. 90 pound dog who doesn't like getting a bath- the owner Kim just called after I texted her - she says "I wasn't in the truck with her but she says she bathed her" she didn't even clip her hair where I instructed her to! And the water was NOT TURNED ON - & no way would she be dry that quick n with her fur !!What a shame to charge $)$ like this and not offer a REFUND! the let thing my dog will do now is go into a mobile van! Bumping my previous review back to 3 stars. After my review was posted, Chris reached out and spoke with me in regards to my experience to try to make it right which I certainly appreciated. He agreed to take a specific amount off my next appointment and to waive the gas surcharge. After a few months away, I was finally able to take him up on that offer and book another appointment with my gift card. The frustrating part was having to repeat all of it again when I made my appointment because I guess there weren't any notes left on my account so the lady I spoke with had to call him and rehash the whole thing and then call me back and then call him back, etc. This literally took probably at least half hour between all the back and forth. The appointment itself went well and Erika even arrived a few minutes earlier. Our pup seemed happy post-grooming and she was all tidied up and smelt very clean again. But then back to the logistics of paying and that got frustrating yet again. There was some misunderstanding so it took another 5 min or so to get it sorted out because Chris had said I was paying with my gift card, but then it seemed like I had an additional balance on top of that (which wasn't correct) even though my gift card covered the entire appointment. While the surcharge was waived this time, what I don't like is that it was a "Gas surcharge" and fuel certainly has gone way back down again yet they still have this "surcharge" tacked on for all appointments going forth. And even though I paid with a gift card, they changed the system so that there is now tax on top of it as well (even though I had previously paid cash for past appointments and tax was waived). Regardless, it is still so so so expensive and the booking process is rather annoying. I still have the remainder on my gift card so I look forward to using that, but NOT looking forward to have to deal with the scheduling hassle and having to confirm or clarify any confusion there may be on how much there is left on my gift card (since they don't use or offer gift cards anymore, but instead a credit on someone's account)... read more

had a appointment scheduled for my dog Beemer today with Emily. I let her know ahead of time that he had matt in some areas and that I know that there is an additional fee to treat it. When she picked the dog from my husband she said that his hair would be short. When we got our dog back he was fucking SHAVED! HIS HAIR WASNT SHORT IT WAS GONE! I have a teddy bear dog and he had this beautiful brown and black hair tipped on his ears and and she cut it all off. It is never gonna grow back. If she did an initial consult on my dog and realized that she was going to have to cut it shorter that she originally anticipated then your supposed to go back to the client and ask if that's what they want. No she took it upon herself to remove all my dog hair and his beautifully tipped ears. I want my fucking money back. If I wanted to have my dog butchered I could of taken him to Petco without having to pay $160. Your better off going somewhere else with you pet. I am so angry and heartbroken. He doesn't even look like the same dog anymore! Update: So Rose from Ruff Life got in contact me and lets just say its some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. She was rude, condescending and a straight up asshole. I explained to her my situation and she told me she would contact the groomer and call me back. When she called me back she proceeded to tell me that the groomer said she explained everything to my husband "but he didn't seem to care"! I explained to her that I had a situation like this when my dog was 3 months old and he was shaved and she said "shame on you for getting him groomed so young". Not only was my dog butchered but I was talked down to and disrespected. This is not a company that you should do business with or give yout money too! read more

in response to the owner of the ruff life mobile grooming - I never had a chance to be a client since my appointments were constantly rescheduled - nice way to treat a new prospective client, 40 minutes behind is unacceptable and notifying me 1/2 hour before my appointment is also unacceptable, if they knew the previous client's dog was difficult, that appointment should have been given extra time. Thanks for the good luck - I did find an EXCELLENT groomer, very professional and a MUCH BETTER PRICE!! Recently used the ruff life for cat grooming services. I can't recommend them enough. The communication was excellent from the moment I made the appointment all through to the end. They arrived early and gave my cat the best spa day ever. He's a real long haired boy who was suffering from some bad matting on his underside and overgrown hair on his paws causing him to slip and lose traction when running around the house. He's also a very anxious cat so I was really blown away by how little the grooming experience freaked him out. After some snacks and a nice cat nap, I've literally never seen him happier. He moves around better with his cute little lion haircut. He's become more playful and affectionate. When I woke up today, the giant pile of cat toys which often goes untouched was scattered all throughout the house. I'm so happy that they made my baby so happy. Emily did the grooming and she was punctual, kind, and efficient. The grooming took hardly any time at all. I didn't catch the second groomer's name but they were great too. I've already recommended the ruff life to all of my friends and they've definitely earned me as a customer for life. read more
