Love Darbini! We spent one miserable month scouring the LA area for the perfect engagement ring and little did we know that Darbini was within walking distance of our home. I found an incredible, honest family-owned place that will work with you and make your ring dreams come to life. When I found Oscar, he was in the back of an old building with hundreds of other jeweler booths, but he stood out in the crowd. I spent maybe 30 minutes with the mom and son duo and found unique treasures that made my eye pop. I found a ring I fell in love with instantly. Like, could-not-get-out-of-my-head love. Infatuated. I couldn't afford it, but we worked it out. Now he's moved to a larger and more prominent location on Colorado and it's still him and his mom running things, and I know their success is only beginning. People know honesty and sincerity when they see it, and will bring their business over and over. I for one keep coming back, I recently made my third purchase: a wedding band for my husband. It's an original Darbini creation and it's completely unique. He really makes some pretty things! Read all the other reviews, and come judge for yourself! I just purchased an engagement ring at Darbini, and was extremely satisfied with the service. I wanted to purchase a beautiful ring on a fairly modest budget and, after months of searching, I wound up coming back to Darbini, one of the first stores I visited. Their prices were very competitive, and their settings unique. The white-gold ring I settled on is beautifully intricate without being ostentatious -- studded baguettes on either side of the central setting and cutouts in the band give the ring a subtle Art Deco feel. I could probably have saved a bit of money buying the stone from an online wholesaler, but the service Oscar provided, including expeditious setting of the stone for my fiancee's birthday and the difficult work of sizing the ring down from a 6 to a 3.5, made the price more than fair. A couple of reviews mention that Oscar is pushy, which I think is an unfair characterization -- he's knowledgeable and confident in his product and that comes through in the way he sells. I can understand how his matter-of-fact nature could rub some folks the wrong way, but I found his forthrightness refreshing and the service was top-notch. When the time comes for wedding bands, we'll definitely be heading back to see Oscar. read more

So went to this place a few months ago I waited to write a review because I wanted to see how my jewelry held up I had a bad experience with a prior jewelry store and the stone on my ring fell out after searching I decided to give Darbini jewelry a try his pricing was very very reasonable and the customer service was awesome he addressed my issues made me feel comfortable leaving my engagement ring there it only took a couple of days ( mind you it was the day before the 4th of July) he remounted and set my stone when I saw the ring I was floored it came out so beautiful I feel I got a hell of a deal for the price I paid to have the setting changed. Oscar was very condescending from the beginning, even telling me to hold a garage sale to get the earrings I wanted. The air of the entire store was very different from other jewelers I have seen, and they're not even Tiffany. When I called him out on how unprofessional he was he explained he needed some coffee. He was also vague every time I asked for specifics of the diamonds I was looking at and how he priced them. My husband is very furious with their treatment. We were looking for a local jeweler that we'd be able to use for years to come but we will not be returning and will be giving our money to jewelers we trust and respect. I wanted to buy an anniversary band for my wife, and was headed to downtown L.A. to the jewelry district, but decided based on Yelp reviews to stop in at Darbini first, just to get an idea of what the rings cost locally. They showed me a few rings, the prices looked reasonable, and I moved on to downtown. Well, several hours later I was back at Darbini. I simply didn't hadn't found anything I liked in downtown L.A., even at Yelp-recommended places. In particular, the workmanship at some of the Yelp-recommended places seemed poor, with rough edges on rings and stones with conspicuous (visible to the naked eye) flaws. The rings at Darbini just seemed like a nicer product, and the prices weren't that much different. I ended up getting a nice ring at a reasonable price at Darbini. This is going to be a long review so for all of you who do not want to read the lengthy review, just know that Darbini's is amazing! My girlfriend (now fiancee, thanks to Darbini's) and I went to the Arclight to see the Hunger Games last November. We had time to kill, and having already talked about "the next step" for months previously, we decided to go into Darbini's on a complete whim and to just look. Kristin tried on some rings, but in particular, tried one on that she really loved. It wasn't sized of course but the ring looked perfect on her finger. Kristin had sent me pictures of other rings from other ring shops for months before we went to Darbini's and I was never in love with one she sent me to look at. But seeing the ring on her finger, I knew that that was the one. I casually asked Kristin to go back to the movies to check on something and I then put a down deposit on the ring....the biggest impulse purchase of my life! But the ring and diamond were gorgeous. It was a 1 carat center diamond and .8 carats of diamonds surrounding the center diamond so that the ring looks like a flower. The band was a split shank (I think that's a term) band and it was plain. The next day, Sunday, I talked to them about the etching around the ring and they were exactly on point with my vision. Two weeks later, the ring was ready, with the center diamond set, the beautiful etching and it was perfectly sized. Kristin had her ring finger sized at Robbins Brothers and the size they said was actually too big. But Darbini's remeasured her finger as a just in case (before I even expressed interest in buying the ring). And their measurements were perfect. So I bought the ring in November, but waited until MAY to propose because I wanted to do it at that time of the year. Long story short, I proposed at a vineyard in San Luis Obispo, she said yes, the ring was gorgeous, fit perfectly and Kristin absolutely loves her ring! I am so glad we randomly went into Darbini's and I believe I found the most perfect ring for Kristin there! I highly recommend this place! Highly highly highly!! And I got a fantastic fantastic price on such a beautiful ring. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind gorgeous engagement ring, then go to Darbini's.
