I loved the service department here until my recent visit. Went in late afternoon with no appointment (which is awesome) for rear brake work and a transmission flush on my 05 Element. They discovered the head gasket needed replacing, which luckily, I was able to have done at that time too. The work they did was very good, as usual, and everybody out front is very nice...however, after getting the car back out of the shop, there is now a whole new set of noises and a new vibration. I took it back and they said I needed a tensioner and drive belt for $875. It's so aggravating to take a car in to get something fixed and have something else break while it's there... my trust in whoever did the work is gone and I'm not sure I want to go back. I expressed my concern about this and they did recommend a new technician who I did meet, and seems very nice, and who works in the evenings which will accommodate my schedule, but I am just tired of the surprises. It's an older car but I take very good care of it. I am the original owner and I take care of my baby. It ran so smooth with no noises, no vibrations such a wonderful car. I guess it's almost personal. It feels like somebody beat up my kid. read more

Was a little hesitant at first because I'm from NY but I needed a battery. Not only did they have an opening ASAP but they also welcomed me with open arms. They honored my coupon with no hesitation, said there would be almost a two hour wait..but i was in and out within 40 minutes. Will def go back if i was ever in the area again!!! read more

The salesperson I was referred to would not tell me that they didn't have any cars that meet my needs, instead wasted my time trying to show me other things and left me sitting at a desk while he walked away numerous times without explanation! Attention to scam of this dealer!!! NEVER EVER trust Honda Bowie if they call you to offer top dollar to trade-in your car. Here's the what happened to me from last Thursday through Monday (this morning). I was trying to sell my Civic and posted it on Craiglist. I secured a private party buyer on Thursday and was set to close the transaction on Saturday. Then On late afternoon Thursday, I got a call from a guy from Honda Bowie saying they saw my post on Craiglist and offered to pay top dollar to buy my car. The guy said if I drove my car to them on Friday to get a VIP appraisal and if it turned out to be in great condition, they can pay my asking price on Craiglist and get me cashed out immediately. Doubting the authenticity of the call, I found out Honda Bowie's published phone number and called them. A lady picked up the phone and confirmed that they are indeed looking for my car model, and told me the guy who called me was their general manager Malcolm. So I drove my car for almost 2 hours from Virginia to Maryland on late Friday afternoon to Honda Bowie in terrible traffic to get the VIP appraisal. After I got in, one guy took my information, and then transferred me to a sales guy named Avion. He seem to be a newbiew as he had problem to even set up my account in the computer. He then checked my car, did a test drive and talked to his colleagues (so far everything seem normal). Avion came back with another guy who seem to be a manager and told me their offered price, which is $500 lower than my expected price. I said no, thanked them and prepared to leave (I have my promised transaction to be done the next day, so I felt totally fine). Then another guy stopped me at the gate and claimed to offer better price. He raised offer but still didn't meet my expectation, so I still decided to leave. Then finally he agreed my price, we shook hand, and I handed over my vehicle title and vehicle keys, waiting for them to write me a check. I called the lady whom I committed to sell my car to and told her the dealer had taken my car. I apologized and offered to pay the mechanic checking fee she paid. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I asked about the check and one guy told me that they couldn't cut the check on that day because all their accounting department employees had gone. I felt dubious but it was 7:30pm of Friday, so I convinced myself to believe. I was told that the check will be available on Saturday. Then another guy told me the earliest would be Tuesday, then a third guy said Monday and they would overnight the check to me. I was confused and became very concerned - I had surrendered my title and keys. Legally as soon as they wrote their name on the title, the car would no longer belong to me!!! I felt extremely anxious but couldn't believe such a big dealer could play any trick on me. Then Malcolm appeared and brought my title and asked Avion to give me one car key. He asked me to take the title and car home and come back on Monday morning to do the transaction. I saw nothing has been written on the title so I felt greatly relieved. I drove back home and planned to come back on Monday (this morning). This morning I got a call from Avion and confirmed I would return. Avion greeted me after I got there and I handed him the title and key and waited for the check. 20min gone - no check. Avion came back asked me if I needed a lift to the rental car company. I said no since I've rented a car and asked my friend to pick me up. Avion said he would find out what's going on with the check. Then he disappeared, for 30min. I then went and found Malcolm, asking him about the check. He said he would find out, then disappeared, too!!! 15 min later, one guy claiming to be Malcolm's messenger told me the check would not be available until tomorrow. I asked to talk to Malcolm. He said he was in meeting. Sensing something fishing was going on (i saw the guys were doing secrete talks all the time), I told the guy I no longer intended to sell my vehicle and asked them to get my titles and keys back. Then Avion appeared, acting as if he had no idea what's going on and said he would find out. Another 20min passed, I was given my title and one key, leaving Avion finding my other two keys I gave to him on Friday. Finally, another 10 min or so, I finally got my other two keys back. That's it - After I drove 200 miles and 6 hours of waiting in Honda Bowie, I felt lucky I could even got my car back! I lost my original transaction and sales opportunity during weekend, not to say my feeling of guilty to my original buyer. It's a total scam and I think theses guys were trying to purchase my car not on behalf of the dealership but for themselves for resale - that was exactly why they couldn't issue the dealer's check quickly and didn't put Honda on my title as the buyer (and I got lucky they hadn't done so)!!! REMEMBER NEVER EVER DEAL WITH HONDA BOWIE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE ROBBED OR GET INTO BIG TROUBLE!!! read more

I've been getting my 2002 Honda Odyssey here for at least 6 years. For at least 3 years my wife has been complaining of a juddering and slipping in the transmission at 45 mph. We took it there numerous times but could never "find the problem." Turns out this is a chronic problem and dealers were replacing transmissions and extending warranties to deal with this. The problem is so bad that there is a class action lawsuit forming. There was also a recall in previous years. This dealer, whom I trusted, never mentioned this. I no longer trust this dealer or Honda. Seems that Honda and Toyota have a lot more in common in terms of quality. Stay away. read more

I had a horrific experience here. Do NOT work with TRAVIS!!! We went because of the Costco Auto Buying Program that was here. Travis, our salesman, lied to us about EVERYTHING. First, he lied about how much the dealership paid for the car (which is what the whole point of the Costco program was for). We called him out on it because we could see on edmund's website how much they had paid. We knew something wasn't right when his final numbers were $1,000 more than the other dealership had come to... Then, he quoted me $1,000 less on my trade-in than the other dealership we had gone to (but quickly matched their price without making any other phone calls, etc). Then, he lied about being able to get the car in the color that I wanted. He had us waiting around for HOURS while he was supposedly calling other dealerships to find my color combo (silver exterior, black interior) to be sent there. He kept trying to get me to get a different combo (which he obviously had on site). Then, when he heard me call the Bethesda dealership to see if they had the color combo that I wanted (which they said they did), he came over to us and said that he could see their inventory and that they didn't have it and that they were lieing to me. [In the end, I went over to the Bethesda dealership where they had my color combo waiting for me on their lot, just like they said they did. It was TRAVIS who was lieing AGAIN.] This is all on top of me being 40 weeks pregnant, and he had us sitting by a hot window where I kept having to move position so that I wasn't sitting in the sun. I had to ask for some water, and he had us there pointlessly for hours. There is even more, like how he let us leave and go to lunch but kept my registration and title so I'd have to go back, and then tried to get us to pay for the car anyway until he could get one for us. He wanted me to pay for a car that he knew he couldn't get! In conclusion, I would highly recommend NOT going to this dealership, as it was one of the worst car buying experiences I have ever had. On the other hand, Ourisman Honda in Bethesda was EXCELLENT and I am so glad that I got my car from them. read more

Beware, Beware, Beware CAR Theft!!! Big FAT ZERO rating!!! A CRIME has been committed against me at this dealership. I took my car into DARCARS Honda in BOWIE for an oil change and tire inspection. While I was waiting for the service area to open to pass time, I had looked at my Honda Accord tool kit (Brand New), which came with the car, to see what the tools were used for. Then I placed the tool kit back in trunk on the shelf. After I got my car back from service, I opened the trunk and saw that my sunroof wrench was laying on the floor, which I thought was very strange, then I realized that my Honda Accord tool kit went missing from shelf. I contacted the General Manager Tom Lavin from service to report the theft and asked to setup meeting with the person who worked on the car. Arrangements were made, but when I arrived the person who worked on the car wasn't there. I explained to Tom what had happened, as described above, and that I wanted my tools back. His reply to me was "Get out of my office OLD WOMEN!!!". Not only a CRIME was committed against me, but I was verbally ASSULTED too!!! read more

I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR OR ANYTHING FROM HERE AGAIN!!! Since driving the car off the lot 3 weeks ago, I've had to get the driver's side headlight replaced, an emissions leak fixed so the check engine light can turn off, new wiper blades, and the weather strip between the door and the frame re-secured. When I went to the service department at 2:30 on a Saturday, the head guy just told me that they were closing in 1.5 hours and there was nothing they could do. How long does it take to replace a headlight bulb? He didn't even offer to wash it, and I'm supposed to get a lifetime of free car washes! When I tried to call the guy who sold me my car, he was never there and never returned my calls. My "awesome" warranty doesn't cover lightbulbs, wiper blades, car batteries, or anything else except for major parts. And my deductible is $100, so I'm out $170 less than one month after driving this piece of junk off their lot. I hate everything about this dealership and hope they go out of business. UPDATE: My temporary tags are about to expire. Apparently, the person who traded the vehicle in didn't give them the title and they can't apply for permanent tags without it. 6 weeks went by without them saying a word about this. I took my car in for an oil change and a 21 point check up and left wondering if they had done anything to my car at all. Usually at check out you are given a report on what was done as well as how your car checks out. I was expecting them to say I need new wipers and probably tires in the near future . I received no report at check out, just a receipt. The next day I was cleaning my windows and ran out of washer fluid. Topping off fluids has always been a part of the service provided. I don't think I will be taking my car back there. read more

I can't speak for their sales and general dealership services, but I will defer to the other Yelper's for that. I realize parts and labor are marked up significantly when you take your car to a dealership, I get it, but to be marked up at the rate they recently quoted me for a compressor was mind numbing and an insult to my intelligence. I'm convinced I shouldn't wear nice clothing when dropping my car off in the morning before work, maybe that's code for their service department to really stick it to me because I look like I'm well off? Maybe I should show up in rags. For crying out loud I'm driving a Honda. These guys need to get a clue. It's sad because I've been taking my vehicle there for the past 2 years with little to no issues and have probably pumped alot of money into their dealership with satisfied results. Purchasing a vehicle can be a stressful affair even at dealerships with knowledgeable sales associates & customer service driven staff. Our experience with this Honda has been awful, start to finish: from clueless reception to incapable management. We strolled in on a Sunday & unfortunately spent our entire day having a salespersons try to answer standard vehicle questions, then waiting on sales managers to close deals and lastly finance manager Mark Anthony. Our sales contract was incorrect, the extended warranty was incorrect, our temporary tags have since expired, we have been back to the dealership twice to get the temp tags renewed & contracts corrected so our car payments reflect the correct amount, we noted that the dealership's chosen lender sent us a bill that was too low! Two months later the contract has not been corrected, our tags are still expired despite being told new tags would be overnighted to us because for some reason while we took time out of our day to return to Honda on several occasions, tags were unable to be printed. Honda's financial institution (not Honda finance) still has not heard from this dealership, we have been calling & emailing as well, with either no responses or empty promises to correct the issues & then never hearing back from them... It's difficult to get management on the phone, let alone the same person. I suggest you take your business elsewhere if you'd like to have even a moderately smooth experience when buying your next vehicle. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE! I was talking to the sales rep and manager (Ken) before went to that dealership! After chatting with them I was told that they will give me the deal I'm looking for. They send me some pictures to show they have that car in stock, because I was looking for particular color. I was ready to come over on Tuesday 17th but they insisted for me to come on Wednesday. They said to come that specific day because that manager who makes that deal would be there on Wednesday! I said no problem! When my friend drove me over there early afternoon, I met salesman and the manager ( Ken) who told me they sold that car in the morning (which is still could be another lie) !!!! Patiently and calm I ask why they didn't call me? The manager answer was: he didn't know that they sold the car and it's not their fault! Well, it wasn't my fault either because I wanted to come day before but you guys told me to come on Wednesday!!! After they offered me another car which I refused and told them I'll keep looking for what I need ( color) . They said they will bring that car I'm looking for from other dealership and will make the deal because they want my business! I said ok and went out with my friend to take care of some errands. Within 20 min I got the call from sales rep saying we need to come back, coz they got the car. We came back and met other manager who said that they didn't have the car yet but they will bring it over from other place and it will cost me 750$ more! Of course I refused ( why should I pay a transfer fee for them to bring that car from dealership which is 20 minutes away, when I can just go there by myself and purchase it from them!!!) After I told them "No thanks", they decide to waive the fee and told me that I'll need wait a couple hours so they will get the car and it's gonna be the same deal ! In a couple hours rhey brought the car. We had a test drive and when we was ready to fill up the paperwork and they wanted me finance with them, they showed up with a piece of paper saying that I got "Red flag from the government" ??? What the hell is that? They told me to come with my husband and bring a check from my bank( my bank approved me for car loan already ). I spoke with my bank loan officer who told me that what they do it's just a trick and all they need is to send purchase order to bank and I will get my check to pay for that car! So we called dealership and told them to send the purchase order to our bank. We were told that they going to send it either that night or next day because, again, some manager is not there yet and only he can authorize that price! So finally, next day we received a message that they can't do the deal we agreed on and they promised to us, because of this transportation fee! They ready to sell us that car if I will pay the transfer fee from other dealership! It was such a waste of time and the worst customer service ever ! Shame on you people at Darcars Honda of Bowie!!! These people are frauds. They ran my credit for financing after promising (several times) they wouldn't although I already had financing. They they lied about it. They add on excessive fees. My car went from $14k to almost $20k because of their fees. No other dealership does that. I ended up Walking out and buying nothing. Check the Better Business Bureau rating (it's an F) they have SEVERAL complaints. Don't buy from them. read more

Sevice checked off my tires were good...only they were bald. Service checked my brakes as needing service in future 7mm of padding...only to find 20 days later there were no pads and my rotors were destroyed. They don't even properly fill your liquids. I went to Honda of Bowie because of the Costco car sales program. Allen Weber was the person that Costco put me in touch with. He was very nice and friendly. Before the test drive Allen explained how everything worked on the car, including all the great gadgets that this car had it. After that I was quoted Costco price which I was not to impressed with. I told Allen that I would get in touch with him and counter offer via email. I did few days later. Allen counter offered and give me a great deal. I received a detailed email with an invoice: my trade in, car price, tax, processing fee and my "out at the door price." I also wanted a color they did not have. Allen told me he could have it before end of the week. He actually had it ready for me two days later. I went to pick it up and it was exactly what I requested. Whole thing took hour and the half and I was out at the door with my new car:) thank you Allen ! I also forgot to get everything out of my trade in vehicle, Allen called me and let me know that he had it and he will keep it for me until I can come to pick it up. I also went to their service department a few months earlier. It was a great experience; the price for service was 50% less that College Park Honda was asking and service was done in less time than I was originally told. I will be back. read more

This is a review for the service dept. I have bought three cars here and the sales dept, especially Glenn, are above average. However, today's experience in the service dept made me feel like I was in the twilight zone. Stay away from Heather whatever you do. We went in there for a warranty repair, and the service advisor ignored my husband and went to the person in line after us. About 15 minutes later, Heather comes to her desk and asks whether we have been helped. My husband was irritated at this point, and told her he'd been ignored and didn't appreciate it. So what does Heather do? Express regret? Apologize for his experience? Nope. She LAUGHS. Yup, I'm serious. So, my husband says he doesn't find it funny (yes he did raise his voice, but that's all he did) and we both ask her why she's smiling and laughing. Heather's response? "Oh, I'm just in a good mood." So my husband asks to see the manager. Here's where it gets good. Heather goes into the Service Director's office and CRIES. Then she lies and tells him my husband was using the F-word at her. Apparently being challenged by a black man (I'm white, and I could still tell clear as a bell what her problem was) was too much for her. Nonetheless, her boss, Bill Lavin, who is actually pretty great, falls for her act, comes storming into the service area and ORDERS US OUT saying they will not work on my car. Unbelievable. Magically, Heather immediately recovered and came back to her desk. So, after a 20-year relationship with this dealership, a racist woman with emotional problems ended it for me. Suffice it to say we won't be back. But if you decide to brave it, avoid Heather. Mohammed is a great choice, though. read more

I wouldn't even give it a one star this is by far the WORST dealership I have been to, even a Mazda dealer where I purchased my first car was better than this. Got in at 7 unlike any other dealer I was surprised no one ran to greet me or asked if I was interested in purchasing. Once someone came out she asked if anyone had help and that's how it all started, she took me to their lobby tables as we saw waited forever 5 hours later after being brain dead because of how long they had taken and all the bullshit they were trying to charge me for, "add ons" that were honestly unnecessary I got fed up and decided not to purchase while walking out the manager I guess it was, starts bitching to my face how next time they better make sure someone is going to purchase the vehicle and blah blah blah... I was planning on coming back the next day and let's just say thanx to THAT guy I decided not to, THE WORST customer service I have EVER experienced... Do I have the option for no stars? Worst service ever!!!!! I have been a Honda owner for 14 years now and I have never been treated the way I was treated when I brought my vehicle in to be serviced. I will admit when I find someone I like I stick with them. I will drive an hour to get my car serviced if I know I am getting the proper customer service. I was doing that until recently when my fiance told me to stop driving so far to get my vehicle serviced and go to Darcars which is much closer to home. I called and made my appointment to get my oil changed. A special was running where I could get my oil changed and vehicle inspected for one price which I thought was amazing considering I had something else going on with my vehicle that I wanted them to look at anyway. I come there at my scheduled time and had to wait. I will say at the other place I go too my appoinment time is my appointment time, not me and 10 other people. I get it everyone runs their business' their way.I was not used to that. That was not the main issue. I usually wait for my vehicle, in this case they couldn't give me a time when my vehicle would be finished since they were extreamly busy at 7:30am. I took their shuttle home and waited for the call. My service guy called me told me what was wrong with my vehicle (outside the oil change), I decided not to get my vehicle serviced as he was unclear and could not answer my questions (I did get my oil changed). Once I came to pick up my vehicle, I asked him the same questions again, and he didn't even bother to say he didn't know the answer as to what was wrong with my vehicle he just reworded what he was saying. I told him rewording your answer still doesn't answer the question asked. Then he went onto telling me "You know that little genie lamp in your car that lights up, that means you need an oil change!" I responded with which is why I made an appointment to get my oil change. We were talking about an issue that was going on with my vehichle that has nothing to do with oil. That really bothered me. I was being talked down too as if oh she is a woman she knows nothing about cars. Apparently I did because when I got into my vehicle I called him over because certain things were not taken care of as part of the oil change. His response. Oh, yeah I forgot to do that. Let me take care of that for you. Never again. I am going to stick to the Honda chain that has never done me wrong no matter which location I go too. read more

They tried to talk me into service which, according to Honda's own service intervals, isn't due for another 60,000. Sitting in the waiting room again - every time I have service on my Accord it takes at least an hour, usually much more, even if I have an appointment. Today I made an appointment to have my oil changed at the EXPRESS area and was told when I arrived that they are backed up an hour. How does that happen unless you are taking walk-ins. on top of your appointments? I feel like it is their way of discouraging you from taking advantage of the free oil change policy. This place is a rip off ! I recently purchased a 2003 BMW 530 i. Since I drove off the lot there has been issues , I took the car back they claimed they took it to BMW and fixed the problems however they lied. My car now has a cracked radiator hose which was supposed to be fixed, my oil pan is stripped and honda of Bowie were the last ones to change the cars oil before reselling , my tires are worn out and one already blew out on me on the highway nearly killing me ! I am frustrated because it hasn't even been three months and my car is falling apart. They expect me to pay for the oil pan when they are the ones who jacked it up, why the hell would you sell someone a car that they can not change the oil on but have to pay 1300 dollars to get fixed! The sales manager didn't give two cares of my issues and the service rep kept making excuses saying I ran over something and that's what stripped the oil pan,,,, like seriously are you a complete idiot ? Not to mention the sales rep that sold me the car Sarah , don't let her nice smile and charming talk fool you, once you buy the car she could care less and she even promised me a gas card, do you think I got one,,, nope! This place is horrible , purchased a car , was not very happy with its quality and decided to return it two days later along with my dad . The main boss got in my Fathers face and wanted to fight him because we put the keys on the counter and asked for a different car saying "all purchases are final" even though the money to purchase the car never official was received by the finance dept. and you can't MAKE someone keep a car they don't like especially if they're paying a note on it , he threatened him with a repo on a car that hasn't even been paid for yet .Also during the car buying process they misplaced a lot of my paper work and even lost a check for $1,000 which is extremely unprofessional .Dont go here to purchase a car , please save your time and go to Annapolis . read more

Inconsiderate service team, poor service department I received a follow on call regarding my last service at DARCARS Honda of Bowie, I praised them but let them know the original problem still persisted. Scheduled appointment at 8 am on Saturday, I arrived at dealer on time, they took my car in and call me from the waiting area 20 minutes later stating they would NOT see my car, the service rep said to bring it during the week because no one could look at it. Folks, why waste my time like that? Last Honda I will own! Nowadays any car quality is very close, so I believe where a brand of cars can separate themselves is at the service. This particular experience is my second one at DARCARS Honda of Bowie, certainly the last. Additionally, why stick to a product that although generally good is not being serviced correctly? I have owned many Hondas and Acuras and believe they are ok. I also own a Toyota and have owned Lexus as well, excellent brands. After this sad and poor treatment I will go back to owning another Lexus or a Toyota as I ALWAYS get treated with respect at their locations. read more

I recently came here for a routine oil change. While waiting for my service to be completed, I took a walk around the dealership and noticed some unprofessional behavior. There was a female who came in to purchase a car. I noticed that the salesperson who she worked with was very flirtatious towards her. JUST DO NOT TRUST -- If you have no time please read first paragraph -- They encouraged me to drive 3 hours to their location from Philadelphia. 30 mins before arriving, they called and said they were about to sell the car. I went back home. I DROVE 6 HOURS FOR NOTHING AND PAID TOLL, GAS. NOBODY WERE ASHAMED. NO BUSINESS MANOR NO KNOWLEDGE OF BUSINESS ETHICS. BE CAREFUL -------- FOR DETAILS IF YOU HAVE TIME -------- I called them for one used vehicle on Tuesday first time. I live 3 hours away from their location. They called me at least twice a day (4 days in the row) to encourage me to go there. I told them I will be there on Saturday, and we agreed for 4pm. While I was driving thru them, they called me 2 times on the road for confirmation of time. 30 mins before arriving, they called me back and said that they are about to sell car. I made a u-turn then 1 hour before arriving to my home, they (gentlemen name was Terry) called and said that where are you, aren't you coming ???. I said that I already drove 5 hours and paid tolls for nothing. Then manager (I think Glenn) called me said "if you come back on Sunday, you can buy the car" He even did not say sorry. It was incredible experience. We were talking on the phone with the manager, he even did not let me express myself whenever I was talking, he was trying to talk at the same time. I am not sure but I think It was a strategy. So basically I TRUSTED THIER WORD. RESULT IS I DROVE 6 HOURS FOR NOTHING PAY TOLLS AND GAS. I just want to let the people, who plans making business with them, know they don't have any business manor and they have no idea what the business ethics. They know only business -MONEY- When the manager called me, I thought that he felt ashamed but it was totally opposite. He even blamed me that I should not have driven that much..?? Beware!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even want to give it ONE star!! I called Honda of Bowie to get things fixed on my van, since I have extended warranty. I also mentioned they could do the Maintence package that was verbally recommended on my last visit as long as it was under warranty. Brought van in, dealt with the assistant service manager, went over what we discussed on phone. Speaker blown, doors won't lock or unlock with keyless entry, there was a ticking sound (Honda put a new engine in it last year because we had so many problems with it, it's a Lemon) and the DVD player wasn't working right, plus the tire light kept coming on and off and to do the Maintence if it was also included under warranty. He entered it in his hand held computer, pointed and read all the things that were to be done, never mentioned money, never saw a dollar sign. He intentionally kept the screen at a certain place that only showed the wording review of work to be done. I said ok, and this is all under extended warranty? He said yes, I signed. He called me later that night left a voicemail to call him back I was putting my kids to bed, I called the next morning. He was not working that day. I asked status of my van, said I would get a call back. Never did. Called again was told it would be ready the next morning. Go to pick up van. 500 dollar charge. I said I was told it was under warranty. Manager came..we went back and forth about he said she said. I said call the assistant service manager, he lied to me. He called him, I got on the phone said he did sneaky business and said he lied to my FACE taking advantage of a woman, he YELLED at me saying the prices were there on the screen. He showed me what he typed up, not the actual HARD COPY he sneakily got my signature by saying you consent these things to be done? No prices!!!!! I did ask the employee why he called me and left that voicemail, he said it was to go over warranty info. Interesting!!!!!! Manager took phone from me and said he was calling for you to authorize another repair. I NEVER authorized the repair and Honda did it anyway. If this sales associate dishonestly authorized something without me knowing, surely he was capable of lieing to me in the first place. The manager did ask the employee why he authorized extra services without my permission and his answer was "she seemed so adamant about having her van run properly" Lie. The Manager refunded that money knowing they were in the wrong, bringing the bill to 300 said it was the best he could do. BEST? WHAT THEY DID WAS ILLEGAL, don't act like your doing me a favor!! He said I could not have my van unless that was paid. The money is not the issue. It's the unethical way that associate dealt with me, and tried to put a spin that my whole purpose was to get the mechanical Maintence done when it was NOT. The employee is a liar and misrepresents the establishment. The manager told The assistant service manager on the phone "you see what's going on here" insinuating I wanted work done for free. Those mechanics work hard, I have no problem paying for services rendered under honest conditions. Not a scummy tactic that possibly ups his commission. The 300 was paid but again, my point is they lied and said I approved extra services over the phone when I did not. So doesn't that make him capable of being a dishonest person? My father had to come (since it is a company van) and said to the manager "so your holding this van hostage until I pay?" The manager said yes. The manager told his employees "under no circumstances give this woman her keys" my issue is with this sales associate and his manager backing up a outright lie. I CALLED BECAUSE MY DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK, a speaker was blown, the DVD player was not working right, the tire light and a ticking sound. The Maintence package was not a priority, but if it was covered then..sure, do it. The manager said none of mechanical work done to the van are covered by warranty in most places. Insinuating I should of known. Again, taking advantage of a woman AND perhaps A COMMISSION SCAM by the sales associate? The cashier, Heather S. refused to give her last name in case this issue went to small claims court as a witness that the manager agreed he was holding my vehicle hostage. She was very disrespectful. That staff sticks together in a very scary way. I forwarded this to the BBB and corporate offices. Honda of Bowie employs a person ( sounds like people from reviews I read) that will trap you, lie, then call YOU the liar. read more

It's impossible to get in touch with anybody from this dealership after you purchase a car. Once they've sold the vehicle, they don't care about you. So many texts, calls, and emails unanswered. When they do finally answer a call, they say they'll call you back tomorrow. You won't ever receive that call though. I don't think I'd come back here even if they offered me a free car. During the holiday around 12/02/18 my engine light come on, dropped my car of at the Bowie service department to see what was going on. MY husband picked me up and I left instructions to call me and let me know what was going on. Received a call about an hour from someone in the service department telling me there was a problem with my engine and they would have to take it apart to get to the part and repair it, I it would be a few days to get my car back because they had to take the engine apart, asked what the cost would be and they quoted $1100.00 woke my husband up and told him, he hit the roof and called them back and spoke to the same gentleman which told him the same thing. My husband said that is some B---S---! told the person on the other end don't touch the car we were coming to get it. That next day we took to my car to a mechanic I use to bring my old car to and he told us it was the sensor that went bad and it sits on the outside of the engine which he ordered the part for us it was about $60. and he charged us $50. to put it on which took 30 min. I guess that someone thought they were going to get a Christmas BONUS!!!! on my wallet. I will never go back to that dealership again. Always get a second opinion. read more

I walked in with three thousand dollars in equity in my car after lots of research. The sales manager wouldn't even consider that as a possibility and made up a number out of thin air on the fly. BUYER BEWARE should be their motto. We had a terrible experience recently that remains unresolved. My 77 year old mother in law came in for an oil change and left with a $2400 dollar bill. They recommended having the timing belt and water pump replaced (approximately a $900 job), even though she had the same work accomplished 3 years ago at the same facility. They also recommended changing the front axles because one of the boots was cracking, even though the axles were fine. At least there was some underlying defect. When performing the maintenance, the technician failed to tighten the left axle nut as required and it had started backing off. It was so loose that the left axle came disengaged while I was driving at highway speeds. I barely avoided an accident. Fortunately, I was able to tighten the nut enough to get home. I went to talk to the Service Manager, Mr Lavin, the next day. Initially he handled the matter professionally and directed the mechanics to inspect the car. I then asked him about why they were recommending a change in the timing belt when she had that same work accomplished here 3 years ago (according to the Honda website, this is done at 105,000 miles or 7 years). He blamed my mother in law for not knowing the work was previously accomplished, He became rude when I suggested that customers that come to the same dealership repeatedly have a reasonable expectation that the dealer keep the records. He stated that the ownership had changed and that the old owner took the records. I responded by questioning whether his department informed her that they no longer had any records and that she needed to look at her receipts to see if this maintenance had been accomplished. His response was even more defensively rude. And this behavior came to a customer who was almost in an accident due to negligence of his staff the day before. At that point I had enough of his behavior and left the facility quite angry. I called the general manager and left a message, but have not heard back. I guess DarCars Honda in Bowie has plenty of eight year customers to throw to the curb. I guess I will have to elevate this to Corporate Honda and see how they think that this should have been handled. read more

Very disreputable. Several of the staff are great conversationalists. They are so amiable that they will literally say ANYTHING. But the paperwork doesn't have a thing to do with what anyone asserts. We were strongly assured that their finance rates were better than our credit union's. WRONG. Our salesman was new at this dealership, but the F&I people should have known better. Shameful. Will not be doing business with them again. Going there is like visiting the BAD old days of car dealers. We had great experiences during our 5 years as customers at Honda of Bowie. We sold our old Civic to them, purchased a used Civic, and got all of our oil changes and maintenance service there. We found the sales team to be informative and not high pressure, and we especially enjoyed working with Ifiok. We were always able to schedule oil changes conveniently and without a long wait. The waiting area was clean, spacious, and kid friendly. We have since moved out of state but Honda of Bowie has set the bar for what we look for in a dealership. read more

I went to the dealership very hesitant and ready to have to fight off pushy sales people. I met with Rick, the sales manager and he introduced me to Suzanne Teta. Suzanne and I hit it off immediately, she was so easy to talk to and I was able to express my needs and concerns. I never felt pressured, it was an amazing experience. My finance person was Jamar Willis, he is the best. Right away he let me know I was in control and under no pressure whatsoever. Everyone was so friendly and nice. I would recommend Suzanne, Jamar and Rick to any one looking to purchase a new Honda! This experience was such a relief compared to other dealerships I've been in contact with. read more

The absolute worst car buying experience has happened with this dealership. First the finance person messed up my loan, which took weeks to figure out. Then I received a photocopy of a registration in the mail which reflected the tags from my old car, which I was told were non-transferable. I called and was quizzed on why I thought they were non-transferable. Well, easy answer...you all told me that the day I bought the car. I have been calling for weeks now to resolve this issue only to receive either no call back, a promise of a call back, or some excuse of why things have not progressed. Today my tags expire and I still have nothing. Their response was simply, well we're still working on it and you can come get new temporary tags. I bought my car 2 months ago. I cannot wait to be done with this dealership and these lies I receive from them. I will never return here and I will never recommend this place. read more
