Sometimes you just have a bad night, and this was one of those. With only one server for the majority of our time at Darcy's, service was slow. So slow that it might have been the worst I've ever seen. Eventually, another waiter did show up who hustled to get everyone caught up. It took roughly 40 minutes for us to get our drinks, and another 40 minutes to get our food. The food itself was good, except for the prime rib, which was very lackluster and bland. The burger was cooked to perfection, and the fish and chips, as always, were amazing. I hope that next time, the service is better and quicker. Hopefully, this was just a one-off blunder and not a sign of things to come. read more

Our friends live close to this place and suggested it for lunch- when they said Irish pub I was a little less excited because it isn't my fav fare, but went for the good company, however, insert foot in mouth; this place was fantastic! The fish and chips did look good although I can't comment on the taste. A friend had the London style curry which was fascinating. My wife had the dubliner sandwich which was packed with meat and the option for sweet potato fries (always a win IMO). I had a lunch special they were offering - a Caprese Tuna. I am a sucker for seafood (grew up on the east coast) and felt like this place was worth taking the chance- and I am so glad I did! This was such a beautiful cut of tuna atop burrata and tomatoes with just the right amount of focaccia for the base; drizzled in balsamic with grape halves and it was all perfectly portioned together. It was actually quite beautifully plated, too, but I sadly did not take any pictures (I was eager to eat). My dish also came with a side soup or salad - I had the tomato basil soup which was well flavored but needed more than one half slice of bread to enjoy it in its entirety. Its flavor didn't go with the main dish at all but that's what I chose so can't blame anyone but myself. Didn't have any drinks at this particular outing but had some good looking cocktails on the menu. Service was pleasant and timely, no complaints. Overall would be happy to dine here again if back on that side of town! read more

Visited again, and tried the French Onion Soup. It was as good as I've ever had, with deeply flavored broth, and chewy cheese. It's served with two toasted pretzel sticks. I'm impressed with the chef's presentation. For a neighborhood pub, they truly do it nice. read more

This conflicted with the music the restaurant was already playing and destroyed any ambiance. Can you say nerve racking chaos? The waitress was of little help in this situation. We came in the day before Saint Patrick's day and this was everything we could've wanted and more to celebrate the holiday. The place was very cute with great Irish themed ambiance and a lot of Saint Patrick's decorations. I loved the Dubliner's Sandwich, I couldn't put it down once I took the first bite. This restaurant is weirdly incognito. They don't have a website. No menu posted online. I came here for a Meetup event that was held in their private conference room. Definitely felt extra secretive! LOVED the Shrimp Fettucine I ordered, though the bread it came with tasted a little stale. I'm appreciative of the hard-working wait staff that kept busting through the hard-to-open conference room doors to make sure we were fed and hydrated. Due to the convenience of location from my lodging, I've dropped into this location a few times. Hardly ever had an issue except for interactions with one waitress in particular and her standoffish demeanor to serve me. The first two visits were welcoming, and friendly, and my order was taken quickly. I've occupied the bar on all occasions. One of the staff members, whom I don't recall his name, was pleasant on each visit. He made the atmosphere feel lighter and even gave insight into menu items during happy hour. However, my most recent visit was after a long day and I just wanted to grab a brew and order food for takeout. I checked in with the host and seated myself at the bar upon entry. The restaurant was occupied with a few groups and the bar was nearly filled. I sat next to a guest who received his food and a refill of his beverage 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. I understood the after-work crew was coming in so I was patient. After placing an order for my drink I was given a menu and pretty much ignored/avoided for the remainder of my time there. I decided against ordering food after others who had come in after me were being served. One of the staff members even came by to ask if I needed anything then proceeded to walk by several times, while making eye contact. I laughed when I finally received my bill upon requesting it AGAIN, several minutes later. Overall, an unfortunate event because I enjoyed the meals I did partake in and some of the staff went above and beyond. This review is a long time coming. I grew up down the street and came here with family since I was a kid. So many incredible meals were had here, so many fun St Patrick's Days, and always just the best atmosphere. One of my favorite waiters is British Nick. He's a hoot. Apparently he works at the Landsowne Arms now. Their brunch is always a standout. I came here today with a group of friends and we were able to sit immediately after being told it was an hour and a half wait up the street at Pancake House. We were warmly greeted by Kate from Philly. Despite that shortcoming, she is hilarious and made our meal quite enjoyable. The food was lovely as always. Other notable highlight is the library room and always get excited when I get to sit there! All that being said, Darcy's holds a special place in my heart. First of all, enough already with the Fish & Chips reviews for Darcy's! Yes, they make great Fish & Chips. BUT, look at the name on the sign -- Darcy's is a "Bistro", and WOW, they have some amazingly creative "non-Irish" food items on the menu that really sets this kitchen apart as a genuine gourmet treat for your taste buds. I've been here at least 10 times in the past 4 years, and Darcy's consistently gives you Great Service, Great Food and Great Ambiance vibe! Check out my photos. On recent stops, I had an incredible Bison Shortribs, slow cooked to perfection in a red wine reduction, it fell off the bone and was mouthwatering to the last bite! Served with terrific grilled Brussels Sprouts and creamy Mashed Potatoes, the entire plate was good to the last crumb! On another night, we had the delicious Tilapia Filet, drizzled in lemon butter, served with tender steamed broccoli on a bed of diced potatoes--YUMMY beyond belief! And for dessert, you have to get Darcy's absolutely scrumptious Bread Pudding with Irish Whiskey and whipped cream. OMG!!! So, now, do you believe me? Darcy's is a great place to grab a bite to eat and a drink. As you may get expect it has the traditional Irish bar vibe, with a large wooden bar, lots of TV's for watching your favorite sport, and plenty of beers on tap. The one downside to Darcy's is the service. While it is usually pretty busy, they either don't have the amount of staff needed to keep up or customer service isn't their priority. Whether sitting up at the bar for a cocktail and bite, or at a table for dinner service be prepared to wait on your server, and don't expect to see them more than a couple of times throughout your meal. With that issue stated the food and drinks are very good, they have all of the traditional Irish pub fare (Bangers and Mash, Ruben sandwiches, etc.) and everything I have tried on the menu has been excellent. We stopped in on a week night to have diner with some family from out of town. It was still pretty busy for a weeknight and they sat us in the back room, which was nice since it was much quieter. Our server came and took our drink order and they arrived quickly. She was awesome with suggestions on upgrading fries, trying something new, etc. We ordered our entrees and a 2nd round of drinks. They arrived fairly quickly and all looked great. At this time another large table was sat next to us and the volume level i the room went up quite a bit making it hard for the 4 of us to chat without raising our voices to be heard over the other table. The food lacked flavor. It was just okay. I haven't been to Darcy's in quite a while but I remember the food being way better. Everyone was pretty much whelmed with their meal which was sad for having people from out of town. Someone in our party ordered a coffee towards the end of our meal and it was completely forgotten. I know they were busy and we could see our server running around like crazy, but it was forgotten about. I still like to stop in and have a drink or two and hang out in the bar. The food, service, and ambiance was over all great. My only complaint would be the beyond burger patty. Didn't taste good at all. Had a weird taste, too salty. Something just didn't taste right. Normally I enjoy vegan and veggie burgers but I would definitely not order this again. I ordered a side salad with it, and it was a decent size and fresh to taste. The rest of my group ordered burgers and fries. Those didn't disappoint. The burgers are juicy and thick; toppings and bun were tasty and fresh as well. The fries are exceptional!!! Pretty cool pub tucked in DTC. The restaurant itself has that "chill, cozy" pub vibe. It's a neighborhood spot where you won't be judged for what you wear to dinner. The food is fairly priced and I've never had a meal I haven't enjoyed. The fish and chips are good, but a little on the greasier side. I found out i have Scots-Irish ancestry from Ulster in Northern Ireland so I want to like Darcy's because it's an Irish pub on Ulster street. Maybe I am cursed to have a not that great of an experience because of the ancestors who were Scottish business men doing unpopular things there. Probably reading way too much into that though. What I do know is that I have been here a handful of times, and largely underwhelmed. I've had the fish tacos, fish and chips, french dip, a burger, and shepherds pie. I was into the cheesecake for a minute, found myself craving it but I'm over it. I don't know why I would expect the Irish to have good tacos in Denver. One time I actually did liked the Shepherd's pie with the stout braised beef it wasn't made with hamburger like it was the second time. Darcy's is close to my office, and it is so cute that I want to like it more than I do. Also, it is annoying to go into an establishment and the first point of contact just looks at you blankly, waits for you to say something, doesn't even say Hi. I found myself considering Darcy's again the other days and determined that the odds of being impressed were pretty low. Also, drinks are a rip off. This place was okay. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance inside of this Irish pub. But the food was just ok. Had the fish and chips. The bottom of the fried fish was soggy. On every piece. I'm a huge texture eater so that killed it for me. The fries were good. Hubby had the French dip and again said it was "ok". We ordered drinks- myself a cosmo and he had a beer. That was the strongest cosmo I have ever had, it felt like maybe it was missing the triple sec or something! I felt bad for our server, it looked like he was the only one there besides the bartender for about 3/4 of our time there and the place was packed. I was in town to celebrate my son's birthday. Our family used to come here all the time when I lived in Denver and it was a great local spot. However our experience on Sunday 2/18/24 was lackluster. We went here because I was staying at the Hampton Inn behind and because we wanted to watch the AVS game. They didn't have the game on and we asked the Bartender, Danny, to please put it on he seemed put out. He put it on the smallest TV in the bar. When we asked him if it could be put on a larger screen he said that someone was watching another game. That didn't seem to be the case. I tried to be friendly with him and told him we were going to be there for a while. We ordered a bottle of wine and he took a while and then let us know he didn't have that in stock but had one comparable. When I asked what it was he couldn't say what it was or explain the varietal. I just ordered something different that I was familiar with. We ordered happy hour food and intended to stay for dinner but we were pretty much ignored because Danny was way more interested in a table of 3 ladies that were intensely intoxicated. We decided to get our bill and after the second period we went down the street to Illegal Pete's where we had a great experience with the bartender and had dinner and drinks and watched the 3rd period and paid half of what we did at Darcey's. I am a bartender and understand everyone has a bad day but Danny just seemed to have an attitude towards us. I left him a 20% tip reluctantly because being in the industry it's just who I am but he didn't deserve it. I usually leave 30% and in cash so the server doesn't have to claim it but as I stated he wasn't deserving. Management might want to have a one on one with him. ​ read more

Wow, my family of three went today and was the first table to be seated. At 10:45, the restaurant was still empty. The woman with long, red hair greeted us, sat us, brought water and never returned. She stayed behind the bar talking to a guy sitting there. It took a different server 20 minutes to acknowledge us, because she was very busy putting silverware on all the empty tables, but didn't bring any to us. We actually considered walking up to the bar to place our orders. When the blonde haired server with the pony tail finally took our order and brought us iced tea, it wasn't even brewed correctly and she openly pointed that out, but gave it to us anyway. It was so watered down and she told us she'd bring new tea. We ended up having to ask if she had the new tea after waiting another 15 minutes. The carafe she brought was just tea, no ice and she did not bring new glasses with fresh ice. Now we have our food after 40 minutes of being there and the restaurant started to get busier and we continued to be slighted. We had to ask her to bring us silverware and napkins. The fish in the "fish & chips" was burned on 1/2 of both fillets (there were only two pieces of fish). It was very dark, (not golden by any means) the fish was hard, rubbery and it tasted awful for the bargain price of $19.99! We could have had a better meal from Long John Silvers. Our sandwiches were not as good as we'd had in the past either, because it looked as if they'd scrimped on the ingredients (less meat, avocados, etc.). The service absolutely sucked. We drove all the way in from Loveland, just to go to Darcy's and completely regretted it. Did they only have one bartender and one server for Mother's Day? The blonde server with the pony tail basically acted like we were nonexistent, even before the restaurant got busy. She never once smiled, welcomed us, apologized for being MIA, asked how the food was, refilled water, offered dessert or did anything beyond acting as if we were invisible. We never complained, even though our meals, drinks and service were all bad, because we got the vibe that the employees would not have cared. This was our third visit to Darcy's and our last. Crappy service, mediocre and burned food, loud patrons with screaming children, not good. Thanks for a really awful and overpriced Mother's Day experience! It was not worth the time, money or the drive. The service and food here are definitely inconsistent and we don't have the time or money to waste. It even took forever for the server to get our tab, so that we could pay and leave. It's pretty sad when we had to walk next door for dessert from Panera's and wished we'd gone there for a better meal! We usually tip 20% or more, but we only left $5, and to be honest, our server didn't even deserve that. read more

Perfect neighborhood style Irish pub in the tech center! Nice HH options and great service. Being keto, food gets boring at times in what you can get eating out. Their Cobb salad here is a delightfully different take - I mean especially when you are ordering a SALAD AT A BAR...- seriously awesome here. All elements seemed freshly made - corned beef & fresh grilled chicken breast made for a protein rich Cobb with all the other usual Cobb salad suspects.
