The bar has a unique vibe, and the patio is large, spacious, and a great place to unwind. Our server was cheerful and attentive, the drinks were well made, and the food was delicious. I was going back between 3 stars (fine) and 4 (pretty good/solid). I decided on 3 because of the flaws, but on a different visit I could absolutely go 4. Stopped in on what turned into a pretty busy Friday night, and the place is interesting to say the least. It's a converted old house, so all of the dining/bar areas are tucked into different rooms, around corners, up and down stairs. Ended up sitting at the bar in the first room. The bartenders were friendly, knew the regulars and their orders, and did their best with the rush. Oddly, there is a "seat yourself" policy, but because of the quirky layout that seems to involve wandering room to room, on multiple levels, until you find a spot. At one point, one of the bartenders was told there were no more seats, and she replied to the customer "Yeah, we might need to start a list. Try upstairs and we'll get to you." Later on, she said to the other bartender "I should check upstairs to see if I have any tables up there"- bad news for anyone seated up there. As far as the menu, it's pretty large and all over the place. I'd expected Irish staples and while they were there, I was surprised to see items like a falafel wrap, Buffalo wings, spinach-Artichoke dip, a shrimp basket, ribs... when I see a menu like that, I'm always prepared for pre-made food from some distributor and nothing special. Ended up getting the Shepherd's Fries, Beer Cheese Soup and Irish Castro (Irish spin on a Cuban). The fries were good, and the portion was MASSIVE. 3-4 people could easily split them as a large appetizer. The soup was pretty good, but nothing great, as was the Irish Castro. The one ding on the Castro is the pickles are huge, and pretty overpowering. All-in-all, it's a fun and kitschy place, and I see why the regulars come back. Decent food, friendly service, a little disjointed, but I would describe it as a good place to hang with some friends and catch a game. My partner Chad and I come here so often that it's like our Cheers. But I guess it would be Sláinte in this context, haha! Most of the staff know up by site, if not by name, and they are usually a fun and friendly group. My regular drink order is a Car Bomb and a Jameson and Ginger, single, short with a lime. My food order varies, but I do love their fries, and their ranch dressing ain't bad either. The Falafel Wrap is really good for an Irish place. The Grilled Cheese is phenomenal, even without the bacon. The Beer Cheese soup is also excellent without the bacon, actually. They also have White Bean Chili that is vegetarian (vegan possible), which I have tried but found too spicy for my taste. They also have Seitan Wings... I love them and get them often, but they are more like seitan nuggets than wings. Easier to eat though IMO. Chad's had many of the meatier fare, but he'd have to tell his own story on that subject. For dessert, the Bread Pudding is to DIE for! Thankfully, it's also quite filling, so I rarely end up eating it all. If you love 'Pub Vibes', definitely check this place out! If you aren't into a noisy bar/pub atmosphere, probably don't come here on a weekend or most weeknights. Stopped in for lunch and had a good overall experience. My husband ordered the fish and chips and gave them a solid 4/5. The fish was perfectly crispy, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. I had the Reuben with onion rings. The Reuben was wonderfully messy, exactly how a good Reuben should be, but overall I'd rate it about a 3.5/5 because it was a bit too salty for my personal tastes. The onion rings were a nice side. Service was average: nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about either. This pub is a wonderful slice of Ireland in a Denver suburb! A friend & I meet for beers & dinner 1/mo & usually it's here. They have my favorite beer, Odell's IPA, on tap....but tonight having recently returned from 3wks in Ireland, Scotland, & England I enjoyed a Guinness on tap (which really is creamier in Ireland). Their wings are great - meaty w/many flavors to choose from. The Shepherds Pie is soooo good - slightly spicy ground lamb & veggies over mashed potatoes (as good as in Ireland)! After spending a few hours at a coffee shop, our barista recommended Clancy's for happy hour and continuing laptop work here. My coworker and I headed over, finding parking on the street. It's a winding maze in here! We were seated in a comfortable booth near the bar. Plenty of seating until closer to dinner. Wi-Fi connection was strong which was the important part. Wheat Ridge has been blessed to claim Clancy's as their own for over 50 years. From the moment you walk in, you just feel like like you're in Denver's interpretation of Cheers. I popped in here after an event. I didn't know which room to snug up in because they all felt right. Ultimately I landed at the main bar. There was one server/bartender and she was doing it all! Working every room, checkin in on guests, pouring drinks, cleaning tables, etc. She was excellent! IRISH SPRING ROLLS ($9) // Corned Beef, Cabbage, Cheddar, Whiskey Mustard Sauce. Crispy on the outside, tender corned beef and cabbage on the inside. What more could a fella want? Pro tip, dip heavily in the mustard sauce. It's addicting and near habit forming. A steal at nine smackaroos. DRUNKEN IRISHMAN WINGS ($10) // 6pc Buffalo w/ Ranch. Big wing junkie here and these hit the spot. My only critiques are personal takes. St Pats Day March 17,2026 - Clancy's did a great job with all the entertainment inside and outside and for all age groups all day long. The outside tent was awesome. My only recommendation for next year is to try and locate the outside tent band where there is more stable parking lot to dance. There were a lot of broken Asphalt areas, pot holes, uneven concrete, and tricky downslopes which made the dance area quite treacherous. There were a lot of people trying to dance around these hazards so not a safe situation. I saw one guy trying to do an Irish Jig and he fell into one of the pot holes and was slow to get up. I would hate to see somebody get injured and sue Clancy's. Looking forward to St Pats - 2027 at Clancy's. read more

We love this Irish pub! The people are friendly, it has a great ambience, and the food is excellent. Every time I go in, I try something new and I have yet to be disappointed. My favorites so far are shepherds pie, fish and chips, corn, beef, and cabbage (I believe they only have this on Fridays) O'Malley sandwich, the avocado wrap, their beef stew is to die for and their Irish onion soup is also very yummy. Our favorite neighborhood Irish bar! The inside is huge, with different sections to sit, matching the vibe you are feeling. The back has many large TVs with a patio and bar. We have been many times and never struggle to find a spot to sit. Sitting at the bar is also a great option as the servers are all enjoyable. My husband and I have tried many things on the menu. The potato skins are a must! There are 3 different kinds. Whichever entree you decide to get I highly recommend the homemade potato chips (best thing ever!). What can be said about Clancy's that hasn't already been said during their multiple decades run?? To start with, the restaurant is ran by one of the most gracious men I have ever met, both in front of the public, and behind closed doors. Jeff & Liz and their crew are the heartbeat of Wheat Ridge and the anchor of 38th Avenue, and that's well worth noting. I LOVE supporting good people who give their all to their community, and that's them. Now on to the food and the experience. The restaurant itself is deceptively big, with multiple dining areas, and two bars and patios for service. I dig the floor to ceiling decorations and obvious Irish overtones. Truly unique. As far as food goes, as always, I get stuck in ruts because I'm hungry when I go out to eat So for me it's always the Shepard's Pie OR, and I never order or cook pork chops at home, the pork chop plate. I'm not sure what they do with their coleslaw, but it might be my favorite ever, and I DO make coleslaw all the time at home. So good. Finally, the energy ranges from family friendly to absolutely jamming with live bands and the best Saint Patrick's Day party in Denver, along with a stellar Karaoke night most every week. The beers were nice, cold and affordable. The prices were reasonable. The tap list was great. The beer cheese soup (Cheddar Soup made with Harp Irish Lager topped with bacon & scallions) was tasty. For my entrée, I went with the shepherds pie (Seasoned ground beef, braised lamb, onions, mushrooms, peas, carrots, white cheddar mashed potatoes, savory herb brown gravy). We first stopped in for karaoke years ago and had a great time. We stopped back in tonight and had dinner with drinks. His Smithwicks was predictable and good. Grapefruit mule was sweeter than I anticipated but still good. We really enjoyed the Irish spring rolls - fresh oil makes the rolls light and crispy. The flavor was good as well - cheesy, just enough cabbage to compliment the corned beef and brown mustard for dipping. Yum. We both had the Shepherd's pie and left well over half on our plates. The rolls were not freshly baked and there didn't seem to be any seasoning in the main dish. I rarely add salt and pepper to a well cooked dish. We did tonight. He added hot sauce to give some acid. What a fun place! It's a classic American Irish pub; dark and mischievous with walls covered in paraphernalia. Such a fun vibe and would be a great St. Paddy's hang. I like Clancy's. It is a nice place to meet up with folks. On this particular evening we popped in for some dinner with friends. My husband had the Irish Castro and I had the Green Chili fries. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a Guinness with mine. It went well with the fries. They have a decent amount of parking and the staff is always pleasant and welcoming. My only issue with the evening was we were seated at a table that was half booth half chairs because it was a corner. I was sitting on the booth part and because of the slant of the seat, I felt like I was sliding off all throughout dinner. I had to keep scooching myself back up. Next time, I'll ask for a different spot if that one is offered. Overall, I usually have a good experience here that is why we keep coming back. read more

Came here on a trip to Colorado. It was our first good stop of the trip. I've never really had Irish food before so I did not know what to expect. I did decide to go all out though and get the bangers and mash. It was really good! I only ate the sausages and the mashed potatoes because I'm not a fan of veggies but I liked what I ate. We went for lunch on a Sunday. It took 20 minutes for our order of spring rolls to arrive. 35 minutes for a burger and fish and chips. There was a family and 2 people at the bar dining at the time. The food runner told us not to complain about the wait for our food because they only have one cook. Our waitress told us we didn't need a refill on our water. We complained about our food and the "owner" walked to our table. He didn't ask us a question but instead told us to "get the f*** out of [my] restaurant" We weren't able to finish our food. The owner also called me a "clown" while exiting the restaurant. I've never experienced something like this before but someone needs to call restaurant impossible. read more
