The pizza here is frankly disgusting a Digorno pizza from the supermarket is of better quality and taste and I'm not joking. My question is who the heck is giving this place more than 1 star? We ordered a large cheese pie it was almost $20 and it was burnt and small and feeds at most 3 children. After a long day of sightseeing, my friend and I just wanted to relax in the condo with some dinner. I was hoping for delivery but they didn't have that option available. A little strange but oh well. Pick Up it is! We decided on the BBQ Chicken Pizza. They used a great bbq sauce which always makes a world of different in this type of pizza. I could argue they should've used more grilled chicken and less onion. It was good but could have been much better. The crust itself was excellent. They just need to improve on their topping portions. The garlic cheese bread was less than impressive. I found it very plain and over done. Again this was an area they can improve upon. When you're exhausted, anything tastes good. When you have time to think about it, you realize there are better options for pizza. read more

We wanted a sub for our last meal at the Outer Banks for a while. We really like Country Deli and drove over to get our take-out meal so we could go back and have a beer on the deck and watch the ocean. Well, Country Deli is closed on Monday 's so on the way back I remembered that Dare Devil's has sandwiches so we stopped in and ordered. Ms T had a simple Turkey sub and I ordered their Italian. I have to say; I was quite happy with this sandwich. The meat was plentiful, and it was dressed nicely with generous lettuce, tomatoes and Italian dressing. I ordered mine warmed and it was great when we got back home to eat. We have not been overwhelmed with the pizza here, but that is pretty much our experience so far with pizza everywhere on the Outer Banks but I would return for this sandwich. In fact I could use one right now. They did a good job on it. I love the combo of meats. I had tomatoes at the condo and had intended to add more, but did not need to. The pizza that we got was so good. I got a pineapple and mushroom. This was the fastest pizza spot I could find when calling in my order. Other spots were 40-1 hour wait where as this one was 25! The food was so good. Crust was so perfect. I would def come back and rec this to anyone! read more

Let me start of my saying it is my opinion that this is NOT a four star joint. Located on the beach road at mile marker 9. A few hotels and condos are in the area which keep them going on the off season. I do not reside in the area, but was coming back from a big swim and thought I would pull up pizza on my yelp app. DD came across as a 4 star and was close. The small pizza place had a lot, not big but they accommodated us fine. As a matter of fact it was really dead around 8 PM on a Wednesday. I walked to the bar and ordered a beer and my son was in the mood for just a plain cheese. After a little negotiation it was decided a half cheese and half peperoni would work. The man waiting on us was either the owner, or manger. Either way he was very friendly and conversed with us on several occasions. Even though they are not that big they can handle a pretty good crowd in their dining room. Bar can hold 6-8 customers. There were a few tap Beers and since they had Flat Tire on tap I was impressed. I did see wine on the menu too. No hard stuff. I found the dining room to be clean. Not one table was not cleared. Same with the floor, no debris. My son and I watched a basketball game and within 10 minutes our pie was out. It was hot, cheesy and had lots of sauce. The gentlemen helping us did everything right except for asking us if we enjoyed and if everything was okay. I ended up asking for a water when I finished off my one beer limit. The pizza was blah, meh a let down. Definitely edible, don't get me wrong. If my son makes a comment that it has too much sauce than I really know it has too much. I personally would not come back, there are just way too many pizza joints in the OBX. I also thought the pricing for a 10 inch pizza with one topping seemed high. Before we departed they started filling in with customers. Decent pizza, nice service, great location off the beach road in a clean atmosphere. read more

To beat the constant rain we decided to get out and explore. We read fantastic reviews about this place so we decided to try it. We totally beat the crowd getting there about 12:30. It is a small place but they work to get every seat full. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was juggling many other tables but never let our glasses get empty or a dirty dish to sit on our table. We started with the mozzarella sticks which were ok but came with their great red sauce. My husband got a hot turkey sub and said it was very fresh. I got the small stromboli (which is huge) filled with ham and pepperoni. The dough was amazing. To me that makes all the difference. That same awesome sauce inside with fresh toppings makes for a winner! Do yourself a favor and drive past those Pizza Huts and Pappa John's and go to Daredevil Pizzeria! read more

Been coming to this place every summer for the past 27 years and can say without a doubt it's the best pizza in the area. Their apps are solid, especially the chicken wings and mozzarella sticks, but you come here for the pizza and Stromboli. Both are excellent and the Stromboli's are massive. This was my second time visiting Dare Devil's Pizza. I must say, the first time was a much better experience. We were given a table right away and service promptly took our drink orders. We ordered a small pizza, half pesto sauce with chicken and half white garlic sauce with meatballs. The pizza arrived and the pesto and chicken was correct but the other half had regular red sauce and the "meatballs" looked more like ground beef, so the order was not accurate. We had to request a drink refill and it took a while to get the requested hot sauce (had to ask twice). The pizza tasted good but it could have used a bit more sauce. I don't understand people saying the crust was chewy...I found it to be fresh and delicious. read more

Pizza at least one night at the beach is required and I'm never going to order from a chain given the opportunity to eat from a one-off local place like Dare Devils. We've ordered out and eaten in here a number of times and they do ok. I swear it seems their large pizza has shrunk from our last visit. It's not spectacular and IMHO the pizza presentation looks almost prefabricated at times. The crust is chewy, which I think is a plus. The sauce is average. They're far from generous with toppings or cheese compared to others. This last visit, one person in our party ordered a garden salad and most of the lettuce was brown and very unappetizing which bothered me knowing someone in the kitchen let that go out thinking it was ok. Unfortunately it was a carry out order so we didn't notice until we got home. If you have a few beers and want a place to get predictable, average pizza-type food this place will do, but I certainly don't understand how anyone can give Dare Devils five stars unless they've never had pizza anywhere else and typically get frozen from the market; it's definitely a step up in that regard. After this last experience though we will probably give one of the other local joints a try. read more

Down for an extended weekend and a buddy of mine told me to check this place out for pizza! So here we are!! A group of 4 ordered takeout for pizza, fries and wings. 15 minutes tops! Super friendly and super quick. Very reasonable too! PIZZA: freaking amazing. Thick flour crust with the perfect crunch. The cheese was super thick and they hooked you up! WINGS: very average. Tiny. Wouldn't need to try them again. FRIES: same. Standard French fry. Nothing to write about. Would definitely come back for more pizza and Stromboli options maybe even try a sub! This is a yearly tradition for us. Our first night on vacation, we always get a pizza at Dare Devil's. The pizza is quite yummy, but the price for a small pizza (Dare Devil/supreme) is $17. I would suggest spending a few dollars more ($3) to get the large. The small (shown in the attached photo) is rather small, about the size of a generous personal pizza. The pizza is really tasty, though. The sausage has a nice kick, and the toppings were abundant. read more

I think it would have been excellent if we could have had some marinara sauce and garlic butter to dip the crust in as it would have added flavor. I'm so glad we chose to eat at this pizza place ! Located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills , North Carolina this the best pizza I have ever ate! We were greeted immediately with the hostess and was seated promptly! Socially distant tables made the inside seating limited but we came for early dinner and didn't have a problem with waiting. The waitress was really sweet and took our order all in one shot. The drinks and salad came out very quickly. By far the best salad & Italian dressing !!! Great serving size for both my mom and I to split. We also ordered a small pizza half pepperoni the other half just cheese! The flavor of the pizza was very delicious! I ended up dipping my pizza slice into the Italian dressing (because I am weird)... but oh so good! They didn't offer dessert but at the end of our meal I don't think we could have ate something sweet anyways - dinner was very filling. Waitress asked if we wanted to have a take home drink which I thought that was very sweet. Very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of the food!
