The absolute rudest, entitled, oblivious and demanding people I've ever seen. (Aka the just turned 21 crowd). For people looking for a more "already know bar rules" definitely go around 11:30. We wanted to grab some lunch by the beach and drove by this unassuming place. As soon as you open the door, that's where the adventure begins. As solid of a beachy vibe as you're gonna get. Laid back. Front of the house run by lifeguard types. Chef is in the back slammin orders with finesse. The bar is bumpin. Live music in the back lawn. Came here for the night life! Brought the younger generation with us. Jacks has an outdoor area with live bands and outdoor tables. The bouncer gave instructions on how to order food if we weee hungry. You have to come inside to get your cocktails. Staff were friendly and accommodated with our variety of cocktails. The staff is awesome. The burgers a great. Been there twice since we moved here. My husband has been there more than me now. First time I had the shocker. If you're not for spice don't eat it. By far my favorite burger. The second time I had the when in Rome burger and it was great. We happened to pop in with a group of 6 (we all mostly agreed!), and I'm glad we did!! I had the jacked up fries (DELICIOUS!) and parts of the Frank n Brady sandwich, and I highly recommend both. The service was beyond excellent. This place actually has customer service, which is rare these days and rare during tourist season down here. Good food, good service, good ambiance. We came here so that someone could have the Franky Baby again. They enjoyed it so much last year they considered it a necessary part of the beach this year. I had the Ron Swanson & it was even better than I expected. The fries were great too. The atmosphere is unbeatable, especially with the decor inside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. This might become a regular stop when we are here. We did not try the fried Oreos so that's just another reason to return. 90% bar, 10% restaurant- at least after hours. We visited this spot at 10pm out of desperation when almost everything else had stopped serving food. College students were the bulk of the crowd here, and the frat formal weekend probably made this even more so the case than usual. I got grilled cheese and a pickle. It was super basic and super cheap- totally worked. Late night orders happened at the bar and they were quick to bring out food. My wife was able to get a burger that she enjoyed. We weren't able to stay for very long because there was some of the worst karaoke performances I've ever heard in my life happening. Really pushing the boundaries of "karaoke is for everyone." We were looking for a good place for a late lunch with good reviews and good burgers. This place had a 4.6 average on Google with over 2,400 reviews. We know why now. They have the best burgers in OBX. They use Wagyu beef. Their fries are crinkle cut in such a way they come out extra crispy. We ordered the Elvis, the Cowboy, and the Cool Hand Luke burgers. All were excellent. We will be looking for these places when we travel in the areas they cover. But...when is JB's coming to Florida???? Soon, we hope. read more

Jack Brown's never disappoints! I'm pulling up there was people everywhere the place was packed people standing outside look like it'd be like a two hour wait we gave her a name. They said probably 45 minutes so we ran around the corner for a minute and we got a text that our table is ready in 10 minutes . We were pleasantly surprised! Got back and got seated right away. Our waitress was right there seeing if we wanted water and drinks we were pleasantly surprised to see that they have added canned drinks such as high noons and seltzer since the last time we were there. We put an order in of the fried pickles, which were absolutely delicious. We all got our burgers cooked to perfection and we left happy people. The only struggle of the whole night is parking. There are not a lot of places to park and if you drive a big truck like I do, you have even less options, but we made it work. Go see Jack and have a burger ! read more

Got dinner here. They had live music and options for seating in the back, inside, and the front patio (which allows dogs). We sat in the back with the music. Self seating and kind of self serve. We looked at the menu on their website and then went up to the outdoor bars to order food and drinks. We all ordered the Greg Brady burger and everyone but me ordered fries. Everything that was fried here is cooked in peanut oil which is stated on their paper menus by the outdoor bar. The burgers took a while to come out but they were worth the wait. read more

It's a dive. There were bras hanging from a round rack at the end of the bar. There was an old washer sitting out front. Kinda a mix of memorabilia and junk. (Still clean, though.) But the burgers are amazing. Ended up eating here twice. Loved the Cowboy burger. Thought I would love the Ron Swanson burger, and it was good... but I liked the cowboy one better. Thd first time we came to eat, the hostess was a little rude. It was a holiday and they were busy. She didn't want to put us on the wait list. We were ok waiting and i insisted when I spoke to the other guy working the front. Ended up only having to wait 15 minutes. The next night, it wasn't busy at all and we were seated immediately. In July 2020, my girlfriend & I took a trip to Outer Banks. We had broken up for 2 weeks in late June 2020, but we were back together for 3 weeks in July. She had asked to go to Outer Banks, and I decided why not as it would be nice to take a trip out here. I hadn't been to OBX as an adult only when I was 9 in 1993. So, I thought it sounded like a good idea. We stumbled upon Jack Brown's for a late dinner on our way to an AirBnB not far from here. Burger was solid, and staff was nice. This is a cool outdoor restaurant/bar with lawn games, etc. and plenty of outside seating. If in OBX, I'd be happy to come back here. read more

Absolutely amazing burger!! Menu changes so don't get too locked in from Yelp pictures. The fries are crispy and very well seasoned. Our wait person was awesome and super cool. Entire staff is visually appealing. The interior is as pictured by others. It's simply a bar. Nothing fancy but not in a bad way. I recently stopped in while visiting the OBX it was late and we were hungry. We stopped in probably around 930 on a Fri night. The place was popping to say the least. They were having karaoke and the volume was insane. You order at the bar and I thought I was gonna have to crawl across the bar to hear the bartender. That being said the bartender was super friendly and got our order correct. We s@at back where there were actual tables. The food came out very quick for it being later at night. I ordered the cowboy burger. The patty was more of a smash burger but the flavor was definitely there. I'm not sure what the BBQ sauce was on the burger but it complimented the bacon very well. The food was great, however the sheer volume on the speakers made it impossible to hear the person across from me. read more

Jack Browns is a staple restaurant for me and my husband to visit if there is one in the towns we are visiting. This one spot wasn't our favorite Jack browns but was still delicious of course! Star was deducted for rushed service, food was delicious as always. I always get the cobra Kai and my husband likes to try different things but this time settled on their special. The sweet potato fries were amazing and the special Jack Browns sauce is *chefs kiss.* We got good drinks and this jack browns had liquor, which just appreciated as a non beer drinker! We thought our waitress a little rushed and it was hard to place additional drink orders and felt rushed while she was at the table. She was friendly though I think just had a lot of tables! It was a hot day here and the area we were sitting in was pretty hot. No fans or anything circulating air but to be expected for a hot beach day. read more

Absolutely ripper burger joint! Stumbled across this place while visiting the Outer Banks and reckon it was one of the best feeds of the trip. The burgers were massive, cooked perfectly, and packed with flavour. The chips were spot on too, and the staff were friendly as. Had a cold drink, sat back, and enjoyed the laid-back beach atmosphere. Reminded me a bit of a good local takeaway back home in Oz. Today was particularly surprising as we visited Jack Browns our usual restaurant. It was noticeably cleaner than usual, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were very nice. Although the burgers were just okay - nothing to rave about - the overall experience was still delightful. As we prepare to leave, I find myself already missing OBX and the good fortune we've had here. This place offers such a unique and great experience, and we plan on always coming back. The food was really good! It was pretty fast and the drinks were great! It was a bit dirty. The staff didn't clear the person before us' trash until after we were done eating. We had someone in a wheelchair so felt lucky to get the patio table. Good options in terms of burger toppings. We tried the Gonzo , Cool Hand Luke and 2 more I can't recall.
