This time I came in for a gel manicure and pedicure. Since it was my first gel manicure with them I wasn't sure what to expect. Unfortunately it was disappointing. It has been a week since I came in and the polish is chipping. It started chipping even before a week. It's to the point that the polish can just be peeled right off. For those of you who are familiar with gel manicures, good polish lasts anywhere between 2-3 weeks with no chip. They have also raised their prices for pedicures. I believe it used to be $18 for a basic, then $20, now it's $22. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I have been going to Darling Nails since I first moved to AZ in 2005. Over the years I've never gotten a bad manicure or pedicure--in fact, I moved over 20 miles away and have FIVE nail salons within 2 miles of my new home and I *still* make the drive to Darling Nails! Whether I want something fancy with a design or just a simple single color I'm always so pleased with the work they do, more than once I've used a picture of my most recent pedicure for my profile picture on social media :) I've tried other places off and on over the last 14 years, looking for the same quality of work and the same or lower price and it just hasn't happened. I hate to leave this review, I really do but I am FED UP with darling nails. The owners John and Kim are money oriented and treat their customers poorly, who will talk about you right in front of you thinking you don't know; they are extremely lucky to have Helen in their shop. My family and myself have been coming here for over 20 years and just to get treated like we're some random people walking into their salon. I have been coming here personally for 9 years and have cancelled and no showed in my past but this was YEARS ago, as of lately I have been scheduling bi-weekly appointments with Helen for pedicures since she is the only one that will actually take the time necessary. Last week, I was very sick and overslept during my appointment time, I texted them 30 minutes later and apologized and asked if I could either still come in or reschedule- I received no response. I then text them again and asked to reschedule for the following day and they said they could not get me in until the following week, knowing I only like Helen doing my toes, I agree. I called on Thursday (hours prior to my service) to state I was running behind and I would like to cancel my appointment. It's now Friday, I call Kim and ask to make an appointment in two weeks and right away I am told no "Helen is too busy" and I can tell she didn't even take the time to look at the schedule. Kim goes on to yell through the phone "Alexa, we cannot book you because we don't know if you cancel", my response was I gave you guys a 6 hour notice so you can fill my spot and that is my right as a paying customer- she continues to argue with me and basically say because I only do a basic pedicure it is not worth their time and she will only schedule me if I swear to come to my appointment. End of the story, I told them to forget it and I will not be returning to their salon. I cannot continue to support a salon that does not value my service and this has happened to me SEVERAL times with them...like I said, FED UP. Helen when you see this, I am so sorry you work for people like this...I'll miss ya! read more

This has been my go-to mani/pedi spot for 6 years now. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean, friendly and they do a good job. They are great at remembering your name and ask about the kids...just super friendly. I only get regular manicures, but I hear their gels are great. Also there is cute little kid chairs, so you can take your little mini-you to get their nails done. My daughter LOVES going. So yeah...I'm a fan. :) read more

I'm glad others have had good experiences here because I sure did not. I went in to get my nails done for a special occasion. I was so disappointed. My nails were not smooth, 2 were on crooked and the owners didn't seem to really care that much that I was not satisfied. Besides the language barrier, they didn't seem to understand that my nails were not on straight. I wanted them nice and long for my special occasion but due to the screw up, I ended up with short stubby nails. I have friends who go to the salon but there nails do not last as long as mine do from the place I go now and my friends who have their nails done here have had nails break, something I've never had. I won't go back and give them the chance to screw up my nails again. One thing, they are cheap. But then you get what you paid for too. If I want nice nails that last longer than a few days or a week, I go elsewhere. There nails are cheap, but they aren't worth the hassle. read more

Helen also speaks English pretty well :) It looks like the salon may have fairly recently had a facelift and looks nice, though as someone else said, not fancy. I have been looking for a new nail salon since my regular salon closed during Covid. I found this place by accident yesterday and what a happy accident it turned out to be. Everyone was nice and the place was clean. I had a gel manicure done and made an appointment to take my daughters back later in the day. I was very pleased with my manicure and happily left. Upon my return with my daughters, Kim, who did my nails checked her handiwork and was displeased with how it came out. She proceeded to have me sit back down so she could fix them. Once again I saw no problem with her original work, they were beautiful. But she filed and buffed them to HER standards and they look even better, which I didn't think was possible! I came in for a pedicure and decided to also get a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish on nails. First of all my pedicure was good. Not as thorough as I'm used to but shill good. Then I was turned over to a male nail tech. When he did my nails it was sloppy, getting acrylic all over my cuticles and sides of my nails. When he opened the supposedly matching gel nail polish it was totally different color than my pedicure color. He told me I was wrong. I didn't like it and showed it to the owner. She had him remove the cooler and put the non-gel color on my nails with a gel top coat. The process took forever, it was the worst acrylic work I've ever had. Plus they charged me the full amount for gel nails when it was just a gel top coat. Very sloppy work by nail tech. Very dissapointed. Will not be returning. Plus unprofessional staff was handing out food and drinks to each other at their stations while they were working on client....Yikes!!!! read more

I have been going to this nail salon for almost 8 years. Every time I go the staff is very nice. If you want eyebrows done they are great. The gel manicures are awesome. John does great job on nails too. The owners are there but discreet. If you have a problem people tell they and they will resolve it on the spot. I hate bad ratings and they truly are a nice clean place. They are not fancy but do honest good work. As for a comment about language barrier this is false. Awful! $45 wasted, I don't even want to go back to have my nails fixed. Had gel polish and acrylics removed to just put gel polish on and both of my thumb nails are disasters after just 1 day. I asked about the gel being "wrinkled" on those two fingers and my tech said "I'll fix it, it'll be ok. No problem." Clearly this wasn't the case. Nail Tech was talking on her cell TWICE while doing my nails, personal calls are clearly more important when handling a customer. Will not go back and will not recommend. read more

Looks can be completely deceiving when you pull in the very empty parking lot to go this solon but let me tell you how amazing everyone at darling nails is...the entire staff in amazing and incredibly friendly! Every customer that comes in whether they have been there before or they just stumbled on this Solon is welcomed with open arms. Helen, Holly, & Kim are all great artist. I always bring in a different Pinterest picture and they execute it perfectly. John and Peter have a great attention to detail as they do the manicures. They have tons of different colors gels and almost all of them have the match of regular polish for a pedicure. I've been trying to find a new nail salon for a while. One nail tech Peter is great but it's the same as every other nail shop. Husband and wife run it they sit in the front they make every one wait in the pedicure chair while they "finish up" the nails and your water get cold. They hover as they walk around looking at their techs doing nails. They talk shit about your nails in a language you don't know when I mentioned it they pretend they weren't as if in dumb. OK so I should start off by saying I am a hair stylist/ business owner for past 12 years. With that being said I am very aware of proper state board sanitation regulations. I feel first impressions for vital. Darling Nails took this to a whole new level. I was able to get right in on a weekday for a gel manicure. The price was very comparable to walk in nail salons in the area. I honestly should have walked out after noticing on both walls cob webs hanging at my eye level. I was so shocked and even said to the gal doing my nails" you have cob webs all over your walls" she said she knew and pointed at the owner suggesting he was responsible for the cleaning. The rest of the salon was very dirty, black streaks on the back door by the restrooms, dust all of the nail techs station and tools. The gel heat curer was so dirty I was amazed she felt comfortable having me put my hands in them. I suggested to her that she really needs to clean them and she said it was from the gel. I have never seen a nail curer have dirt and debris from the gel polish except for the color staining the outside of machine. The salon was empty except me and I now understand why that may be. As far as the nails I was glad they were done but will not support the salon again. read more
