Absolutely in love with my new ring design!!! I was never in love with the wedding ring my husband and I designed in Walnut Creek with another well-known jeweler 11 years ago. I was finally fed up getting my ring prong replaced for the 3rd time (due to the bad design work) and looked on Yelp to find another jeweler. I am so happy I found Darren!!! I never write reviews, but I have to Darren Jewelers. If your looking for luxury products and professional service, look no further this is the place. From the moment you walk in the door, it's a great experience. I never thought I would be someone who would own costume jewelry but Darren has been able to take my vision and turn it into reality. My husband took a screen shoot of a Pinterest photo I had saved of the ring I wanted for when he proposed. Darrin took that photo and created my engagement ring from it. Then when my husband's parents passed away 7 years ago they left behind a lot jewelry. We don't know anything about jewelry, I couldn't tell you what is real or fake. He was kind enough to go through the pieces with us, did it all in front of us and even taught us a few things. But they could not have been more unhelpful when we visited their store on a Tuesday at lunch time while it was quiet. Over the last five or six years I've purchased several anniversary and birthday gifts for my wife from Darren & his wife, and he is one of the most personable folks I ever patronized in this business. As a very long-time rockhound, I attended plenty of large scale gem & mineral shows since the 1980's, and have bought lots of smaller items along the way from many other folks in the jewelry business. While some of those purchases and some of those business owners were not bad, Darren is by far one of the most competent, honest, and friendly people I have run across in his field. He has done a couple earring and pendant projects for me, and the other pieces I purchased were also of his creation. The workmanship is consistently top notch on all of them. There have been zero mishaps (like stones being lost, for example) on any of the pendants, earrings, or rings. Unfortunately, market pressure from foreign investors has driven up the cost of many gemstones, so no jewelry store will have the same pricing as five or ten years back. In terms of value though - and especially considering the high rent in Danville - Darren still provides fantastic bang for the buck. Definitely recommended ! read more
