Funky little store on Main Street in Downtown Pleasanton, crowded with treasures once you walk in. Scott, owner and master jeweler, is amazing. After my Mom's death, I asked him to appraise 2 rings. After a couple of days, he handed me a very professional appraisal, beautifully cleaned and polished rings, and added his advice about making copies (for insurance purposes, etc.) I was so impressed with his knowledge and honesty, I have asked him to assess Mom's entire estate. Along the way, I have learned a lot from him and enjoy his company, his expertise and the value he brings to help me. Scott repaired a pair of wanted earrings making them wearable again with his lacquer painting skills using his myriad of working materials and tools hidden behind the curtain. Little tiny hole in the wall, a complete mess. The back of my watch came out and wouldn't go back in. He said he'd give it a try, but if he were successful he was going to charge me $20. It seemed excessive but I said ok. He took out the pin that held band together and said "This is what happens when you try to change your own battery, why would you change your own battery?" In an insulting and arrogant voice. I explained that I took to Cousins, where I'd been going for 30 years. He tried it for 10 seconds, said he couldn't fix it. He handed me back the watch, without the pin, band still unattached and said nope. It was a cheap watch for 5 years service at HPE, so I just dumped it in the trash and left. The guy has no customer skills, doesn't know squat about fixing watches and was a complete dick! Do not go to this dump! read more

Went on the hunt to two sentimental pieces fixed up. I had a hell of a time finding a silversmith but a local jeweler recommended this place as they only did platinum and gold rings. The place is unassuming and kind of cluttered at first sight but there are literal hidden gems everywhere. The store owner Scott knows his stuff! He's eccentric for sure but a brilliant craftsman and has a great passion for what he does. Once you get him talking, you understand how invested he is in his craft. Doesn't have conventional customer service skills but does have genuine joy when customers are happy with his work. And the price was reasonable. $30 for upsizing my ring and $20 for my other project. (Not posting as it is a gift). I left a very happy customer and will be back for a few of his custom pieces. Was so happy with his work, I went back with an antique ring that was missing a diamond, and he recommended cutting off the missing stone section which came out just as beautiful, as well as saved me at least $5000. Scott Pfeifer is a gem. Probably as hard as a diamond but as radiant as an opal in his craftsmanship. I found him after attemping to shop at my own at the mall and didn't understand what I was looking for. He taught me that I wanted to buy a ring, not finance one. He crafted my engagement ring for my fiancé and our wedding band. The pictures are attached for the specifications we wanted and you can tell he takes great pleasure from his work. But theguy behind the counter was working with other person when I entered so I tried not to be intrusive and waited until I was approached. The guy said to me "if you are here to shop you are welcome, if you need assistance, it will be 15 minutes or more until you are helped." I knew his approach was rather raw but actually I really appreciated it alot. I have never understood why when you are standing at a counter waiting for help and then the phone rings, why the customer on the phone gets serviced first. My friends and I visited this shop a few days ago. I'm still upset by what the man behind the counter said to my friend after she bought a piece of jewelry from him. He complimented her on her beauty, which seemed very nice at first, until he continued to say "minus the big." We were shocked that this cruel statement came out of his mouth (to put it nicely, he should take a long look at himself in the mirror). I can't believe he had the audacity to say that to her. We immediately left, but in retrospect, we should've went back to the shop to tell him how rude and unkind he was. It's not right to treat people that way (especially a paying customer). You should be ashamed of yourself. For your information, my friend is a very beautiful woman, inside and out, regardless of her size -- she's a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. My son sat on my daughter's favorite pair of sunglasses and broke the hinge. They were a relatively inexpensive pair from Old Navy, but were discontinued, so we couldn't replace. We checked a bunch of other places and nobody could repair them. Finally checked with Scott at Pleasanton Jewelers. He said he could fix them. He gave us an accurate time estimate, went to a thrift store to get a replacement hinge, removed the old hinge, melted the new one into the sunglasses.
