I recently bought a quartz watch with a metal bracelet band online. When it came, like always, the watch band was way to big and needed to be resized by taking about 2 links out of it. I'm pretty handy at fixing things and I have removed links from other watchbands. I have an inexpensive tool from Amazon that is used to facilitate the removal of the two small pins to release the links for removal. I removed the pins easily enough but I made an error in reassembly of the watchband. It is simply the reversal of the pin/link removal except in reverse order. But, I messed up. I wasn't paying close enough attention and installed the links next to the watchband clasp upside down. At first I laughed at my silly error but after about 20 minutes of trying to get the pins out without success, I wasn't laughing anymore. Apparently, by assembling those links upside down, I must have jammed the pins when I incorrectly reinserted them. They wouldn't come out. The tool I had was not very robust and I ended up bending the tool. That wasn't a big loss as it was only about $5. So, I had to find a jeweler or repair shop. And I Googled and Yelped for a place near me. That's how I found Design 4 U. Ruby, the owner/operator for this nice shop really took good care of me. I told/showed her what I had done wrong and left it with her so she wouldn't have to rush to do the repair. She called me the next day and told me it was ready. The watchband fit perfectly and I was very happy. I was even happier when she told what the charge was. It was about half of what other jewelry stores charge for that kind of service. Her repair work and cheerful personality were outstanding. Combine that with the very reasonable pricing makes it a pleasure to give Ruby a 5-star rating! THANK YOU RUBY!!! I just needed a replacement watch battery. We previously patronized Heller's, but they had relocated. I searched for a closer jeweler and found Design 4 U. It had all 5 star reviews on Yelp.
