In 2021, I purchased carpet from Dary replacing what was in my family room. About 18 months after the installation, I noticed some carpet was loosening up and other areas starting to buckle, creating humps in it on the floor. I put in a service call to Dary, the guy came out and blamed it on "humidity". He did not stand behind the installation, wouldn't do anything to correct the problem. I would not recommend this company!!! Now I am stuck with both a poor carpet product and worse, installation that totally failed! read more

Choosing the carpet was simple and painless-I knew what I was looking for beforehand and didn't have to agonize over anything. The gentleman who helped me was knowledgeable and provided me with samples to look at in my new home. Dary's estimator came out as scheduled to measure and provide a quote-he was punctual and efficient when measuring for the carpet. Pricing was about what I'd figured - in other words, reasonable and fair. When the installers came, it was more of the same: punctual and efficient. I love the carpet and am glad I chose Dary. Was so excited to find this place. The carpet quality was SO much better than the big box stores. We chose a carpet that we wanted prior to moving to our new house (still empty, so an easier job for installation). Love the carpet - the look and the quality. HOWEVER, after reading and hearing such good things about Dary Carpets, we were massively disappointed by the installers and installation. The installers made it clear from the beginning that it was a difficult job and they didn't want to be there. They were rude, dismissive, and not at all interested in making sure we were happy with the installation. They were careless with their tools, requiring our contractor to have to "patch" repair the grout in an upstairs bathroom where the installers had their heavy tools on the unprotected tile floor (which we had to pay to repair). The installation was poor at the thresholds to the tiled floors, which then required silver thresholds to be installed (this shouldn't have been necessary at all!). Seams are visible, problems on the stairs. After contacting Mike Dary by email about our concerns, with photos (and there are more problems than listed here!), he emailed back to say that he needed to talk to his installers, that he was shorthanded and (for us!) to contact him again on Sept. 22 (almost 3 weeks later). We did that, by email again, and we have not heard back from him since then (it is now Sept. 25). So, we can only assume that the man whose business this is and whose name is on the door, is not really that concerned about his customer satisfaction once he gets paid. We could not recommend anyone using this company for carpet installation due to our experience. read more

Dary is a very nice and welcoming store, and absolutely NO PRESSURE SALES! We decided to have our oak staircase carpeted about 1-1/2 weeks before the 2024 Christmas holiday, since we were having older relatives stay with us. We were shown different samples. We took four samples home and made our decision. We picked a carpet that we liked and that fit in our budget. The estimator came out the next day to measure our stairs, the last three stairs make a 90° turn. We wanted the stairs wrapped California style leaving exposed oak on both sides so the carpet edge was bound at Dary before the carpet was delivered. They did not bind the three pie shaped pieces since they wanted the installer to measure these stairs. The installer was great, he laid the carpet as tight as a drum! Oh and BTW the carpet pad used is perfect, not too thin and not too thick and in combination with the carpet the combination makes using the stairs a pleasure. Our dog is more confident going down the stairs too. We got a quality carpet and pad, a great sales, purchasing and installing experience. Dary personnel professionally performed the work on our installation with expertise and integrity. Because of our experience with Dary we highly recommend doing business with them. read more

Their expert staff, comprised of an incredibly friendly & knowledgeable family running the place, will help you make sense of the dizzying array of carpets/flooring and narrow down the selections based on your needs & preferences. My inlaws had new carpet installed by this family last year & they highly recommended them. We were interested in a berber & the owner/father let us take many sample boards home to decide. A few days later one of his sons came to measure (and he didn't mind our inquisitive cats following him around) and a week and a half after that our new carpet was installed! Their pricing was very reasonable & they have a range of styles/quality to fit any budget. Plus, check your local coupon magazine or online as they sometimes have coupons - we saved $2 per yard. I also liked how their pricing already included their padding (which we liked) & labor. We bought carpet from Dary and I asked for a pad upgrade. We are on a cement slab. The sales person stated they only carried ONE pad and it was fine. Our last carpet lasted 30 years. Our new carpet is 6 years old and very badly worn! The pad is NOT fine! Very disappointing as we bought very good carpeting! Buyer beware! The guys were very nice, just not very knowledgeable. Although I guess they are in the business to sell carpeting. But I won't be back! read more

Very reasonable quotes and very professional. They went out of their way to spray some disinfectant on the floor before laying the carpet as it was quite a mess by the previous owners. I redid my entire house - vinyl downstairs & in bathrooms & new carpet upstairs. I do love the flooring. One problem: the carpet installers knocked my bike off the hooks in my garage & damaged it beyond repair. They took no accountability for doing so, though I understand accidents happen. They also thought it appropriate to take the seat off of it. When I contacted Mike Dary to inform him what occurred, he offered no compensation, let alone an explanation. The installers lied & claimed they never touched it, though it somehow was placed on the other side of my garage. When I asked for compensation, it was denied. I then requested his insurance agent/company info and was ignored. Unfortunately, this has left a bad taste in my mouth over this otherwise positive experience. I am now without my bike & have holes in my garage ceiling where the bike got ripped down. NICE! read more

Dary Carpet has excellent selection, low pressure sales people and great installers. If the sales person who comes to your house tells you the furniture does not need to be removed from the room being carpeted, do not believe him. They charge to do so, but it is a reasonable fee and the installers take great care both moving the furniture out and back. read more

This concerns Dary Carpets in Streamwood, who removed and installed my New Carpeting. The "People" (2 Mexican Guys...no Racial anything from me) Showed up ringing my Doorbell multiple times BEFORE my appointment that was at 9:00 AM. All that I had to do was disconnect my Home Entertainment Center. I wanted to disconnect and Roll up the Speaker Wires to make moving everything easier for them and I was told by one of them I needed EVERYTHING Removed from ALL of the Rooms. I told them to do one Room at a time because I didn't have any more room to move anything else to. The next thing that I know they're Dragging EVERYTHING out of my Bedrooms and into my Living Room. One of them mentions that a Staple came loose, or was missing, from my Bedspring and I said hold on a Minute and went and got a Staple Gun from my Garage, and when I got there they had BURIED it so I couldn't even get to it!!! I told them to SLOW DOWN and asked them nicely if they Understood English and told them to then Start Listening to what I said. I was washing my Window Treatments and I wanted to put them up after the Carpet was installed. That's when one of them asked "what are Window Treatments?"!!! From there on all that they did was Speak in Spanish to each other and just IGNORED ME and anything that I had to say...what an INSULT!!! I paid for these "People" to Remove all of my Carpeting and Padding and Install everything new I AM A PROUD AMERICAN and if you don't like us, REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU ARE FROM, THEN JUST GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!! They tear up the Old Carpet and Padding and I'm looking at the Floor and notice that there are all kinds of Crap on it and I ask them if they're going to Vacuum it and one of them says we don't have a Vacuum!!! I said BS... I'll do it myself, and then one of them says give us the Vacuum and we'll do it. They put down the new padding and Carpeting in the Bedrooms and before I could put the "Window Treatments" back up they were blocking the Windows with the Beds...and I had them in my Hands. I also told them in the very Beginning of all of this that I bought New Air Duct Registers and Covers that they could install once they had the Carpet Installed. I started removing the Old Duct Registers and Covers Myself and that's when I noticed that there was Pieces of the Carpet in the Vent Ducts they Cut Open for the Openings and I asked them WHAT was going on because that was going to BLOCK the AIR DUCTS or Damage my Furnace and they said NOTHING!!!I had to Vacuum ALL of the Air ducts myself!!! I told them that I had already told them what I was planning on going to do and again they just IGNORED ME!!! That's when I said SCREW IT and let them do whatever they were going to do, and just get the HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!!! Then I heard them Vacuuming and it wasn't MY Vacuum...they DID HAVE THEIR OWN so they also LIED TO ME!!!When they were finishing my Livingroom the Owner's Son shows up to see how things were going and their Faces Changed to Fear!!! I told him of the Problems I was having with them and I could see the Dirty looks that "His Crew" were giving me (I guess that they can understand English after all)... and the Owner's Son his Defending them when II AM THE CUSTOMER???...so, nobody would listen to ANYTHING that I said!!! Oh yeah, they were Great with helping me find the right Carpet for my House in their Showroom, but when it came to Friendly Removal and Installation Services they SUCKED and would not Recommend them to ANYONE..HOW CAN YOU RUN A COMPANY LIKE THAT???!!! read more

I had my carpeting installed 2 years ago now and the more I look at it, the more upset I get. When I initially went into look at carpeting I said I liked the carpeting they had recently installed in my sister's home. They said they couldn't look up what she had and even if they found her paperwork, they probably didn't have the carpeting any more. That should have been the first red flag for me but oh thought they did a really nice job in her home. I ended up taking a few samples home with me of the frise type carpeting and expressed my concerns about the carpeting to the salesman. I was worried the fibers would get frayed with vacuuming and/or smooshed downward after time. I told him I would be the only one in the home and he assured me that the carpeting was wonderful and would fluff back up after vacuuming. I want over my padding options and told him - this is my first home. I plan on being here for a while and DON'T want the padding to be smashed down after a short time. I wanted higher quality padding. He said since it was just me in the house, the regular padding would be more than fine. I trusted him, had them come out to measure, set up a date for install and got excited. The few days before the install, sick as a dog, I started tearing out the old carpeting and what was left of the old padding. Pulled out as many staples and nails that I could locate. Saturday was the date of then install. They said they be there at 9 am. I went to Mariano's to pick up waters, juice and pastries for the installation folks. About 8:10, my cell phone rang and it was the installers saying they were at my house... ALREADY. I had to rush home. The installers barely spoke English and were not very friendly. They did their thing... Did not show me what they were installing to verify the correct carpeting or padding...just did their thing. When they were done, asked for the remaining payment, I handed over my credit card and they went on their way. I never once heard from Dary to see how installation went or if I had any questions/concerns... Or even if I was happy with the install. NOTHING. So it's been 2 years since installation. With every day that passes, I wish I could get this carpeting torn out and get my money back. The carpeting is smashed into the ground so badly and the padding in the higher traffic areas is flat as a board. The texture of the carpeting is terrible and won't even wear naked feet on the carpet. Socks or slippers are a must. I feel that I was taken advantage of and now there's nothing I can do about it except advise others of seriously shopping around before committing to Dary. I will never go back to Dary unless my frustrations reach a higher level and decide to take more action. read more

I used them to put carpeting throughout my house in 2009 and in my guest bedroom they ether didn't have enough padding/ foam to put underneath or didn't install it correctly because it separated in four spots, so much so that when you step in a certain spot in the carpeting your foot would sink in. I eventually put furniture over the spots so I would not trip. Fast forward to 2014, I needed a quote on hardwood flooring and someone came to my home to measure and kept saying what a huge job this would be and added 200 sq ft to the quote. I had other people come out and quote me literally half the price and about 200 sq ft less. I then find in old paperwork where they measured in 2009, and sure enough that measurement was 200 sq ft less than the recent quote. My suggestion, shop around and buy the materials on your own and hire out a contractor. Took longer to research but definitely worth it in the end. read more

We had carpet put on our basement stairs by the contractors that finished our basement. We were not happy with the carpet job so decided to get a couple of quotes on re-doing the carpet on our stairs. We called Dary and they were very knowledgable and professional over the phone. We went into he store where they showed us remnants as well as carpet on rolls. I liked how they were a family shop and how they were personally interested in fixing our problem. I was very careful in selecting where I bought my floors from. There are many big names out there, and from what I have seen and experienced you don't save much and sacrifice a lot of customer service and care. Me and my wife went in looking for new hardwoods for our first floor. We were definitely on a budget and they worked to match what we could afford with the best products. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted and helped in a non pressured yet helpful way. After taking some samples home we made our decision and went back in for the pricing. A couple days later they came out measured the area for the floors in about 20 min. They then came back a couple weeks later once our special order came in to install. The installer was professional and courteous and did excellent quality work. It is now a couple months later and even though it was a good amount of money I could not be happier with the experience and the finished product. This is a great family owned and operated business and reminded me of what service should be, and how a business should be run. Would recommend them to anyone I know. read more
