Seriously 5 out of 5. Ordered the lux three hand roll and the Uni scallop hand roll. Previously had only ordered via DoorDash. Let me tell you it's not the same as coming right into the restaurant and having roll by roll. Pristine quality. Absolutely delicious. Service also incredibly friendly and professional and kind.

Came here after my son's basketball games were done for post game meal. The food is spot on and I could have eaten until I burst but stopped. Notable hand rolls for me the spicy tuna crunch and the truffle mushroom. I ate the mushroom so fast that I don't take a pic but really incredible. Service really fast and friendly. Ambiance cool chic and hip. If you have not eaten here you need to go! One issue - we sat at the end on lower side and the ratio to chair to table is a little off so opt to sit at tall chair. Otherwise it's perfect.

Good service. We had no reservations and they were able to seat us at a lower table right away. I enjoyed the rolls, because they don't put a lot of rice. The miso soup and cucumber salad was good.

The fish was high quality and consistent with the experience that I've had at Seabutter's main location in Beverly Hills. I ordered online and took the food to-go, which was seamless and well packaged; there's also nice counter seating in a cute interior. One guy made sure that I enough chopsticks and ginger for my large order, which was nice.

Ordered delivery for dinner last night and they were pretty amazing. Fresh sashimi and though seaweed didn't stay crispy but could tell they use good quality seaweed. Definitely gonna try dine in one of these days. I ordered 9 hand rolls and 3 cut rolls for two of us but I definitely do not need that much food lolz

Found this place after heading to LAX. Amazing hand roll bar! Bar type seating that surrounds the sushi chef building your hand roll. Great service. Chef informed us of what each roll was coming. We got the seabutter deluxe which includes their top hand rolls. Rice ratio was solid and had good texture. Started with the salmon truffle. Torched in front of us with a strong sear taste. Next was the HYE, a minced yellowtail belly and tasted fresh. Uniscallop roll also tasted fresh and good quality. Sliced T toro hand roll was buttery and melts in mouth. The wagyu smell lit up the room when it was torched. One of the best hand roll places I've been to. Came before dinner time and it was empty. Seated immediately and had a quick dinner here.

Went for a late weekday dinner. Had to wait about 15 min for a table, but was good eats as usual. Got the 5 roll set - everything was good, and even ordered an extra amberjack w/ yuzu. Will be back (again)!

Super excited that a handroll bar opened up in the South Bay. I would say this is significantly more expensive than Kazunori but the caveat is that there are more premium rolls & they give a lot more fish imo. They have a set menu of rolls and a la carte items all ranging from $6.50 per roll to about $15~ I got the Luxe 3 handroll set which included truffle salmon, HYE (yellowtail with lava salt), and Negi toro. My husband got a few a la carte and the wagyu handroll which was a plus after eating all fish. It came out to a $100 lunch for 9 rolls.. which is steep & we weren't full yet. Super nice place tho, would come again lol

Excellent quality of fish! I came here on a Thursday at 1:40pm and nobody else was sitting at the bar so it was nice to have the entire place to myself. Jessie was awesome and she gave me a lot of helpful recommendations. The salmon had the perfect flavor and texture, I would recommend starting with the 3 hand rolls $17 set menu which included: salmon, tuna, & yellowtail. The ambiance was so peaceful too.

I have eaten here twice now, both at "off" times mid-afternoon, so never had a problem getting a table or with service. The style is similar to KazuNori, handrolls in sets or a la cart. Unfortunately, the food here is just mid. The first time I decided to try the Lux 3 Set since it was interesting and different. It came with salmon truffle, HYE, and negi toro, and I also added a blue crab. For me, maybe the "lux" was too much for me haha but if you like truffle and caviar, I would recommend trying it yourself. With the blue crab, I found myself crunching on shell and had to spit / pick it out multiple times. I gave it a second chance and tried the regular 3 roll set of salmon, spicy tuna, and albacore. While I did enjoy this better, it still felt lackluster. Both times, the rice was more hard than I'm used to. AND both times the rolls came in a different order than listed! Which I guess maybe isn't a big deal but I just thought it was weird. Especially with the Lux set since the rolls are more special, I wanted to know what I was eating. Will I come back? Maybe if I'm in the area and a friend wants to go. Otherwise I'll make the drive to MDR.

I was excited to see a new handroll place in El Segundo. I came here for a weekday lunch and we were able to snag the last few seats at the counter. The place is similar to KazuNori where it's just a bar/counter seating. I ordered the Seabutter Deluxe which came with five handrolls: salmon truffle, HYE, uni-scallop, double T, and Wagyu. The HYE had way too much sesame oil on it and it overpowered the other flavors. I also got the U.S.C (uni, seared scallop, caviar). Fight on! That one was probably the best one out of the ones I tried. Honestly, none of the handrolls were bad but they weren't amazing either. When it comes to handrolls, I'm more of a purist and I would rather have just fresh sashimi, rice, and crispy seaweed without all this extra sauce on top and overdressing it. Overall, the rolls were pretty good. However, I left feeling a bit disappointed. We felt that it was overpriced for what it is and for the amount of food. The portion size was small and the handrolls were skinnier than the ones we have had at other restaurants like KazuNori. The seaweed is also soggy and it would taste so much better if it came out crisp like it does at KazuNori. Service was just okay. There were a couple faux pas like they took away my water at the beginning of the meal because they mistaked it for another person's next to me who had already left. They also gave me a soy sauce/ginger dish that looked dirty and used. I probably won't be back. If you like more of a fusion handroll, and don't mind paying a lot for small portion sizes, then you might like this place! Parking: free in plaza lot

Want fresh & flavorful Handrolls that are unbelievably irresistible? Look no further! They've been open for about a month and a half. It's in the space where Oath Pizza previously was. There's free parking at Plaza El Segundo where this business is located. Hubby & I walked in and were promptly seated at the bar. There's mostly bar-height counter seating with about 14 seats, though two regular-height seats are available. It's nice that they have some menu items that are not raw fish so my husband has food to eat while I nosh on the food he doesn't eat! I would like to see a couple more items for hubby, but at least there's a few things he will eat. I chose to get the Taste of the Bar which includes Soup or Salad, 4 Handrolls, & Green Tea or a shot of Sake for $35. The handrolls are incredibly fresh! I appreciate that they make & serve them to you one at a time. The set includes Spicy Tuna Crunch, Salmon Truffle, Scallop, & HYE. My favorite was the HYE Handroll. It includes minced yellowtail belly, sesame oil, minced truffle, kizami wasabi, & sea salt. Super flavorful! Hubby got two Handrolls; Miss Crab and Wagyu Beef, & a Blue Crab Don. The Wagyu was slightly torched before being assembled into the handroll. I took bites of each of these and they were great, too! I'm so very happy to have tried this place out! I want to try a few other items on my next visit!

I love handroll bars and have been wanting to try this place for a while. My husband got the sea butter deluxe and I got the 4 handroll set and a wagyu. My favorites were the blue crab, salmon and wagyu. The portions are a good size and it was just the right amount of food. Prices are reasonable too. It felt a little slow between each roll, but other than that no complaints. Service was good and parking is easy and free.

Other than booths there is a large communal dinning table available for guests. Reservations a must as it's not a large restaurant. Quality & quantity of food is outstanding and we always had prompt and efficient service. Beer & sake offered. Did you know Asahi Beer is made in the USA now? We learned that from the bartender so Kagura opted to serve Orion, an Okinawan beer instead. You can't go wrong for a special Japanese dinner. We always order their special dozen sets!

And the tonkatsu? Legit one of the best I've had--perfectly fried with that golden, crisp exterior that somehow stays light, not greasy, and gives way to juicy, tender pork. The kind where you don't even need sauce... but you'll still use it anyway. What really seals it for me here is the gozen sets. If you're indecisive (or just hungry), this is your place. So many combinations, and everything comes out like a full spread. My current go-to is the steak gozen--basically the "why choose?" option. You get miso soup, salad, tonkatsu, tempura, soba... it just keeps coming. It's generous without feeling overdone, and somehow everything still tastes dialed in. I used to be loyal to the sukiyaki gozen (RIP, still not over it), but the steak set has filled that void nicely. Bottom line: delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly good value for how much you get. If you're in the South Bay and craving a proper Japanese set meal--not a rushed version--this is the move.

Unless you're a glutton like I am and don't feel like sharing, haha. The bluefin carpaccio practically melts in your mouth. The cut of the bluefin is absolutely just what your stomach is craving. Soft, flavorful, and satisfying to say the least. The white lightning is a saucy garlic surprise. The ever so slight sear on the albacore makes this roll have a dance party on your tongue. The garlic butter that the roll sits in has such a great taste that I just want to drink it down. Japonica El Segundo is placed in a small "strip mall" type of location, with on site parking being limited. There are several disabled designated parking spots right in front of the restaurant. Also, there is plenty of parking up & down Main Street, allowing for closeness within walking distance. There are no stairs/steps needed to enter the restaurant and the televisions do have closed-captions. The noise level is mid, making it easy to have comfortable conversations with your party without having to shout. I would absolutely recommend taking a stroll down Main Street after your meal, giving yourself some time to digest, stretch, and maybe get a scoop of ice cream from one of the local spots.

Sounds dreadful, but sometimes, that opens opportunity for exploring around the local eats. One of them is this local ramen shop, Blossom Ramen, that happens to be tucked inside the nice small El Segundo villages/shops in this quiet neighborhood. At night time, there are plenty of parking. This Ramen Shop closes pretty late (~11pm) while other local shops are already closed. Thus, parking is pretty open. I can't say the same during the morning or dayshift. At night time, you can see through the open window layout of the Ramen Shop and actually see if it is packed or not. Roughly 6 tables seating up to 2, as well as 7/8 tables seating up to 4. The register and reception area is right up front immediately when you walk through the glass door. The Menu is displayed up on the LCD screen as well as the laminated doubled-side sheets. Plenty of various types of Ramen to choose from. Order is taken and paid up front. Once ordered, along with your drinks, the waiter will bring the order to you directly so you can enjoy it. The interior decor of the Ramen Shop speaks volume to the "Blossom" that is in the name. The designer must really and truly like Cherry Blossom to decorate the interior as such. Wallpaper in cute anime/cartoonish form is seen throughout. I ordered the "Red Ramen" and when it came out, it was probably the most delicious and flavorful Ramen I've had. It wasn't a Tonkatsu nor Miso based soup, but more of a curry flavor based. The noodles was very delicate and very aldente! I had also ordered a pint of Sapporo to go with it and it tasted so amazing when parred together. To me, and my wife, over cooked with crunchy pieces. The chicken was also over cooked, dry and tough. When our server asked how things were, I mentioned it. He didn't seem surprised. I asked if the noodles were always dry and he said yes. He offered to bring more sauce, which he did. I added it but it didn't make the chicken any better. In the end, I left 90% of it. They only have cans of sodas so no refills but they are attached to a tea house that serves a great selection of teas, bobo, etc. There was some good things but more not, overall, we were disappointed. Honestly, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer to replace my dish or offer a small discount. They could see the pile of food I left. Anyway... Hopefully your experience and food preparation will be better than ours and...enjoy!!!
