Went there for dinner last night and had a little bit of everything...rolls, sashimi, appetizers, and a hand roll. The food was great, the spot was super cute, and the service was AMAZING! The staff was so welcoming and kind and always checked in on us. It honestly reminded me of the hospitality you experience in Japan. Definitely will be going back!

Our family loves Japanese food and we are walking distance to this new neighborhood spot. It's small and clean and reminded us of our travels to Japan. The food is fresh and well presented. We went early and were seated quickly.Reservation are taken and highly recommended. We ordered multiple dishes. The sushi rolls and hand rolls delicious and fresh. The udon a winner - the broth is divine. Tempura delicious the chicken and shrimp coated perfectly. Not too heavy and just the right crunch. All the sauces that were served flavorful and added to the dish. One suggestion is to have a small menu for children and some kid chopsticks. Our toddler is used to having that at our other favorite spot in Manhattan Beach.

Just finished having dinner here and it was delightful. We greatly enjoyed the tuna sashimi and flounder sashimi. The jack roll was also excellent ! The space is intimate and was busy ! The service also was great. Would definitely go back !

This is a relatively new sushi restaraunt. Honestly couldnt ask for better. Sushi was very good quality, and the rest of the items I ordered was very good too. They also had a good selection of alcohol. What surprised me the most was their 9 piece plate for 45 dollars (as of the date of this review). 5 per piece is a bargain, ive seen worse prices for less than decent sushi before. My only small complaint was that the rice was unseasoned. But didnt really take away from the taste.

They have a variety of lunch specials, including a sashimi combo meal with 8 pieces, salad, rice, and choice of a side. So good. My sons ordered a sushi lunch combo, tempura kids meal, and some gyoza/soft shell crab -- all delicious. As a treat we also ordered the A5 Wagyu (which they allowed us to order for lunch). It was prepared table side and was just incredible. Our server Kelly was amazing! Loved her great recommendations, and she constantly checked in with us. Her German/Ecuadorian heritage coincided with an upcoming World Cup match, so having her as our server was extremely fortuitous. The restaurant ambiance is simple yet welcoming along the main road. Parking was a little crowded but we found street parking not far away. I love how they have a waitlist and how food came out really quickly. They have their own special soy sauce recipe! We ordered some takeout food on the side and Kelly was on top of it all. Thanks to Kelly, the delicious food and fast service, this place is exceptional and gets high marks for me. I highly recommend checking out this place.

Hidden in plain sight, Kagura is a top tier Japanese dining experience. It should be noted that this place is more $$$ than it is $$, and that's a compliment. I dropped $50+ here and it was easy to say it was worth it. I treat myself to the Kagura Gozen chef especial that was limited on how many was served per day and a Orion Okinawa draft beer. Plus, I had leftovers. The chef special came with more-than-a-little of everything. Each dish was unique and delicious. I was treated to a full spread of amazing Japanese cuisine. Sashimi was fresh, katsu was thick and juicy with a lightly breaded crust, eel was flavorful and soft, and the soba noodles were perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully laid out. I got vibes of actually being in Japan. If you have a reservation, you can get a private booth. The attractive staff were fantastic. Friendly and fast. Water glass was always full and empty dishes were promptly removed. Last tid bits. Two clean solo bathrooms and street parking.

This time, I noticed this location offers special Gozen set meals that I hadn't seen before. They had a limited Dinner Gozen on the menu with only 10 sets available each night. Of course I had to order it. The set came with a little bit of everything: sushi, sashimi, katsu, eel rice, toro rice, ikura rice, soba, a variety of small cold side dishes, soup, and salad. It was a huge meal and I was honestly surprised I managed to finish the whole thing. I really enjoyed it because you get to try so many different items in one meal. If you're like me and love Japanese food, this is a great way to sample a little bit of everything without having to order a bunch of separate dishes. Everything tasted fresh and the quality was excellent. The restaurant itself isn't very big, so it can get pretty busy. They do take reservations though, which I'd recommend if you're planning to come during dinner. Overall, I really enjoyed this special Gozen meal and would definitely come back. It was a fun experience and a great value for the variety and quality of food you get.

Their packaging is amazing, with all the sauces and added stuff on the side and specific directions about which sauces and additives go on which item. It's the best to go sushi i've ever had. i like getting the to go meal that omits the cut rolls, as I'm not that big of a fan of the crab roll. it's not bad. it's just ok. i'd rather not have the cut rolls and add individual things I love, like toro, uni, or hotate, which I had instead of tuna and crab cut rolls tonight. Picking the food up is easy. It was ready when I got there. No waiting. Easy in, easy out. There were many people waiting to eat. I like the ambiance of the Manhatten. With the USA getting a massive FIFA win, my New York Knicks finally taking home the NBA Finals Championship, and the Carolina Hurricanes defeating the Vegas Knights for the Stanley Cup, my friends and I needed a top-tier spot to celebrate. There was no question we were heading straight to Dash Dashi in Manhattan Beach. Located right near the pier on Manhattan Ave, Dash Dashi perfectly blends that laid-back South Bay coastal energy with incredibly refined sushi. We walked in buzzing from the games, and the staff matched our energy perfectly. The service here is always attentive and friendly. We kicked off the celebration with a round of their premium chilled sake and an order of their spicy garlic edamame. Do yourself a favor and do not skip the edamame--the hot spice blend is dangerously addictive and pairs perfectly with the sake. But let's talk about the main event. If you follow my channel, you already know I come here for one specific reason: the off-menu "KG Roll." The chefs know exactly how to make this custom signature roll for me, and it is a masterpiece every single time. The fish is insanely fresh and buttery, and it has the exact right balance of heat and crunch. Seriously, ask the chef if they can whip up the Kristina Farberman special (the KG Roll)--you will not regret it! Whether you're celebrating a historic weekend of sports sweeps or just looking for some of the best sushi in the South Bay, Dash Dashi never misses. The rice was a bit too salty and overshadowed the meat. For rolls, we tried the Katana, Gensai, and White Lotus. Katana was definitely my favorite: balanced, clean, and delicious.
