We originally got in contact with Larry (the owner of LnS) about 8 months before our actual wedding date. From the very beginning, Larry was extremely professional and very thorough in helping us plan out the music for the night. He walked us through developing the plan including music for the ceremony, first dances, special dances, open dance time, during dinner and for the cake cutting. Larry met with my husband and I in person several times to discuss plans as well as to take a look at our venue location. We kept in frequent communication by email, and I would often have a response from him within a few hours at most. As such, by the time the wedding itself rolled around, we had a well-developed plan in place for the that day. The day of the wedding itself went amazingly. He showed up more than early enough to ensure the DJ equipment and lighting were set up well before my guests started arriving. Throughout the night, Larry and his wife worked as a well-oiled machine to handle pretty much every aspect of the music. Throughout the night, he was able to gauge the mood of the people dancing, and I don't think we had much time at all that the dance floor was unoccupied. We had a few small glitches due to miscommunication on my part with the hotel staff around the timing of the cake cutting, but ultimately, it was handled so well that our guests never knew there was any confusion. I cannot thank LnS Karaoke enough for the fantastic job that was done at our wedding. I certainly intend to use their services again in the future if we ever have a need for them.

The next night, I went to a show at a different venue. This show was amazing. Needless to say, the show that got me hooked was by Totally Twisted Karaoke or TTK. Having been to karaoke shows all over the Metroplex as well as out of town in the three and a half years since, I can tell you this continues to be my favorite karaoke company in the area. The show is run efficiently so that the maximum number of people can sing -- no sitting around listening to recorded filler music between singers. KJ's are friendly and encourage people to sing, though I will put in a personal plug for Keith, having been to about three times as many of his shows. Selection of music is fantastic, not only in English **but also in Spanish**. They get in new songs all the time and if you ask for a song they don't have, they absolutely will get it so long as it is out there to get and legally available. You can believe there is a special place in my heart for each of the songs that they have gotten over the years at my request. :) Picking a song is easy, too. Forget fumbling through a big binder of faded pages in tiny print. If you like choosing the personal way, talk to the KJ. But my favorite is the ability to search their entire database of songs either by title or by artist and sign up for as many as I want all at once. I can sign up for all my songs of the evening at one time if I like, or go sign up every time my turn is coming around. In fact, there's no need even to get up... They have a setup where you can pick your songs wirelessly from your phone once you're in the venue. About those turns: fair rotations with the list posted on the screen for everybody in the place to see. None of that nonsense where a KJ skips a friend ahead of others or lets somebody go additional times in exchange for a big tip. You get your turn in the same order every time, with duets counting as the turn of both people. Have been mostly to public shows -- both in bar settings and in family-friendly restaurants -- but the private parties for which they've been hired have been fun as well. All the ones I've attended have been of drinking-age adults; however, they also are hired regularly for parties of teens and even daytime parties of little kids. Prices are quite reasonable and I've never known of any party hire that ever regretted the decision. I know I sound like an ad, but believe me, I've never been paid or compensated for any review I ever did. This is the way that I write, the way that I've written since I was a kid, and the reason I'm going on and on about TTK is that they are the reason I am a karaoke addict today. They have given me nearly 4 years of good times, up to 5 shows a week when I'm off in the summer, and although I'm doing this to return the favor, it's also a little selfish... The more public shows they have, the more chances my friends and I get to go sing with them!
