I cannot recommend Dave Blair plumbing. Seems like Dave Blair was bought out by someone else... Ritz? Initially, they came out for a running toilet which when "fixed" didn't work well at all. By the way, the charge was $295 for the visit. Then they were coming out to fix the worse running toilet and I had an unrelated sewage problem. Again, a charge for $295 for running high powered water through the line but then they recommended a really involved expensive "fix" involving a new line etc costing thousands of dollars. After that, I had a plumber come from a different company who ran the roto rooter and I'm good now. Plus didn't spend a lot of unnecessary money. read more

When we tried to find out why they simply left a 5 foot hole in our yard and a pile of soil on our patio for weeks and did not respond to our calls. 3 receptionists told us they were "not allowed" to give us the new owner's contact information. Please be aware that when you are calling David Blair Plumbing, you may get a visit from one of their two sister companies without them alerting you. Why would this be an issue you say? Well, when you call to get a bid from David Blair and Ritz shows up and then you call again to get a bid from someone from David Blair (because you have used them in the past) and Ritz shows up AGAIN. It's not only a waste of time and lack of transparency but why would a customer want to get two bids from the SAME COMPANY? Their answer? They wanted a supervisor to show up to give you a more accurate bid? Me thinks they messed up and were covering tracks. Sigh....I miss the old David Blair. read more

Plumber came to quote the job and was very high considering it's "ten minutes or less" of installation labor. Commented on quote and gave him a $ with Yes or No. Took picture of shower head style and agreed to Yes$. Tech installed shower head next day. read more

I have used Dave Blair plumbing over the years for small repairs and they have always been prompt and reasonable. Last month I had a clogged kitchen sink. The trucks that came said Ritz Plumbing. They "water jetted" my line from the side clean out and said " there is gunk and cast iron bits" coming out of the line and they would have to replace the cast iron lines to the tune on $ 3,200. But they could apply the water jetting price to the bill if I said yes RIGHT then. I didn't have a good feeling about the whole deal. We used another plumber, who came inside and went through the kitchen sink, since the lines from the sink to the clean out go sideways through our wall. Low and behold the line was unclogged. We called Dave Blair Plumbing in a pinch when our tub started to leak. They came out and said the bathtub stems needed replacing. They spent maybe 20 minutes max doing the repairs and charged us almost $400 (Parts cost maybe a 1/10th of that amount, so labor was the remainder?!). They also said our water pressure was too strong in the house and suggested we install a pressure regulator for $800 which we declined. About a week later, the same tub started leaking again. We called Dave Blair to come back out and set an appointment for a Saturday morning. They never showed up and when we called them, they said they were stuck on another job. Thanks for making us wait around for 3 hours. We made another appointment for the following Monday. Two guys came out and now changed their opinion that it wasn't the stems after all and they'd have to break the wall to see what was happening. After putting holes in our wall, they determined it was the overflow and p-trap line that was leaking and it all had to be replaced How much to fix we asked? Oh, that will be $2,000. Wait, what?? But if we acted now, it would only cost us $1800. We said no thanks to the high pressure sale and they left. We called another local plumber who quoted us $450 for the same job and got it done. And to add insult to injury, according to the new plumber, it turns out that Dave Blair Plumbing didn't event install Pfister OEM stems but used some cheap knock-offs and they can't even tighten all the way. As well, it turns out we don't really need a water pressure regulator that was suggested by Dave Blair. Long story short, avoid the overcharges, unnecessary upsells, missed appointments and poor quality work with Dave Blair Plumbing. read more

I've had my share of plumbers out to our place for a variety of reasons, but I was hoping to find one that was a bit more reliable. After reading some very promising non-Yelp reviews online, I called them up to have someone look at a shower drain that had slowed considerably. I got through right away to someone who immediately booked an appointment for the following morning. The same evening I got a phone call from the plumber confirming the appointment & location. I had asked that they arrive by 7:15 a.m., a request that usually means that I get a phone call at 7:30 saying they're stuck in traffic and will try to be there by 8 a.m. However, the phone rang the next morning even before the appointment time, and I was greeted by a very courteous & professional plumber who fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. He even told me how to avoid future occurrences, which might seem bad for business but is exactly the sort of thing that will insure I call them again. The price charged was higher than some other companies, but I think it was worth it (assuming the problem does not reappear in a few weeks). read more

On Wednesday, 8/29/2018, I called in order to have a bathroom sink stopper replaced and scheduled a visit for 8/30/2018. Their plumber (Miguel?) showed up at the right time but did not have parts and told me he would return next day. Next day, 8/31/2018, another man showed up instead of Miguel and he also did not have parts. Apologizing he scheduled for the next day, 9/1/2018, at 8 AM. He never showed up and did not bother to call me. Called their office on 9/4/2018, complained, and was scheduled for a visit between 3-4 PM on that day. Again no one showed up. Called about an older floor furnace. Was told they work on these and knew right away the model and parts that would likely be needed. Sounds good so far! Was told it would be 4 days before they could get out. Ummm, well ok. "We'll be there Thursday at 9am". So here we are, Thursday at 9am. Nothing. 9:30, nothing, 10, nothing, not even a call. 10:15 I call them... "Hi this is Dave, oh yes your ticket went out with the other guy / truck. I'll call him and find out what's up and call you right back". Yea, well I had an appointment I made days ago. 10:30, nothing. 11am, nothing, 11:30, nothing. Noon, I call again. "Hi this is Dave. Oh, yes I keep calling the other plumber, he must be under a house and can't answer his phone..." Ummm yea, but its now THREE HOURS after my appointment, YOU NEVER CALLED ME, I HAD TO CALL YOU. I called Dave Blair Plumbing after a fuse went out in my apartment, turning off my fridge and freezer in 95 degree heat on LABOR DAY. I couldn't believe it. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and understanding and called me back within 5 minutes saying that a technician would be here within an hour. I couldn't believe someone would be here that fast! He arrived in 30 minutes, even better! He fixed the problem, was very nice about coming on a holiday, he wore a mask and was respectful of my space during Covid (which i was very worried about) and even offered to clean up the small mess the work made on the floor. Which of course i said i would take care of it but how kind is that? I will recommend Dave Blair Plumbing and specifically the technician, Luis that came out to anyone and they are definitely saved in my phone now as my go to electricians / plumbers. Last night I had a bit of a flood at my small business. Dave Blair plumbing got someone on their way almost immediately. Luckily, my husband was able to stop the leak and I cancelled the appointment. A few minutes later, GILBERT showed up and I explained that the leak had been fixed and I had cancelled the appointment. He asked if he could just give a look, at no charge, to make sure everything was alright. He explained to my husband what he needed to know to keep us safe from electrical exposure and recommended that we have an electrician out to keep the situation safe. They did a great job resolving the Immediate issue and providing clear explanations as to what additional work would be needed while not applying pressure to make a decision. They were professional, polite and friendly. Have done business with Dave Blair for over a decade. Apparently they were bought by a bigger company. Yesterday, I called them for 2 leaky faucets. Emergency Rooter, Inc. responded. Long delays, lots of upsell pressure: faucets leaking because the water pressure was "too high" therefore need a "regulator"; hydro-flush needed to clear pipes (which I was told should be done every 3-5 years), etc. etc. I rely on a plumber for expert advice on what is and isn't needed - Dave Blair (and parent company) no longer provide this. Tech George needed to come back the next day with proper parts (rather than installing with wrong parts I might add!). George showed up on time the next day as well. When there was a minor hiccup, his boss Miguel joined him to solve the problem. No issues since they fixed the problem and it has been a week. Very happy with everything, start to finish: great phone manner, timely appointment, techs on time, seemingly fixed it properly and a reasonable price. Would use them again. read more

I have had a good experience with the Dave Blair Plumbing before, so called them for a quote to install a water line to our new fridge that has an ice cube maker. The guy that showed up was nice, but the quote was for $1300, almost twice what the fridge cost. We found another company to install at 1/3 that price. It's nice that Blair is a local company, but advise shopping around unless price is not an issue. read more

My wife and I found Dave Blair plumbing last July. We have been so pleased with their work, we keep having them back to do more work for us. They installed a new fault, instant hot water tap and sprayer the first time. The next time they cleaned out the drain and cleared it out on the same day we called them. A plugged up sewage line was the next call and again they did a fine job cleaning out the roots. And again today they replaced our toilet with a new one in less than one half an hour and it looks great! They even took away the old device at no charge Home Depot wanted twice as much and also were going to charge us for the haul away. Be patient and give them a try, if you can't make contact the first time, try again you will find out nice it is to work whit these people. read more

I had been using Blair Plumbing for years. Their work was fine. Then last month they snaked a kitchen sink and also sealed a leak from the same sink. last week, both the sink backed up again and the leak returned. I texted the son, Kenny the following note: "morning Kenny. This is Lee. our kitchen sink is still blocked. and it's leaking still underneath into the lower cabinet. both of these items were recent repairs by you. how did you want to take care of this?" I expected a polite professional response saying he'd have to look at it and tell me whether it's a redo or new work. I was fine with either as I had always trusted him. this is the response I got back: (I've replaced letters with filler symbols for obvious reasons!) "Go F^*~ yourself" I was shocked. I thought maybe he was joking. I called the father Dave (super nice guy) and he laughed and said he apologized and would look into it. still no follow up. I wouldn't allow anyone from Blair Plumbing onto my property ever again. it was shocking and a bit scary. what a shame. someone has obviously suffered a stroke or had a brain aneurism with a response like that! They are not just nice and hard working, they are respectful-unlike the last plumber Dave Blair's sent us. Now that guy was just rude from beginning to end, please never send him again! I am SO happy and relieved to finally find plumbers who are honest, good at what they do, and whose charges are reasonable. I have a big ole' house and have had bad experiences with four or five different plumbers -- some had no idea what they were doing, some ripped me off with unnecessary work, and all were absurdly expensive. I called Dave on good recommendation from a friend. He was great on the phone -- answered right away and was very accommodating to fit my job in the same day. Unfortunately the two guys who showed up were incredibly unprofessional. I asked them if they could please park their van in the designated area nearby (after I had gone to the trouble to get them a parking permit), and they very dismissively told me no, they don't have time -- the one guy had an doctors appointment to get to. Great, so you know what, then DON'T BOOK MY APPT if you don't have adequate time to do the job! I should have sent them away right then. It was a super simple job, and yet they argued with each other about EVERTHING. Seriously, it was like I had two of the three Stooges sitting on my kitchen floor bickering like children about which valve to shut off and which piece of hardware to use. All in all, I think the work was good (I certainly hope) but I'm severely disappointed in their professionalism and I will not be calling these guys again. read more
